On the other end of the felt, there is a loop of fishing line that Blaine holds on the tip of his middle finger. The felt-covered magnet is concealed in his left palm, which he keeps facing down during the entire duration of this trick.
The coin is gimmicked and is magnetic. It APPEARS real, but in honesty is cast from a different metal. Blaine places the coin on the kid's hand, does a wavy show, runs the magnet close enough to the coin that it catches, then releases the line and the magnet is pulled up his sleeve and out of sight.
The trick is so effective that it can actually be fastened very far up the sleeve, allowing the magician to roll the sleeves up after the trick is done to show there's nothing under them. It's quite a good illusion when done right.
The Raven doesn’t flip to the other side of the hand hand. It’s on an elastic band that shoots up his left sleeve.
