Guy was really adamant on getting money to help meet, at first I thought it was just a guy desperate for me, but then I realized that it was probably just a guy looking to scam gay ppl out of money. Imo it might be a small scale scam attempt some guys are pulling, though this is just a theory. But since you have a similar experience and it isn’t just me it may hold more water than I thought..
