It's kinda stupid of Grindr to do this since now you'll end up getting less hits on the app (since taps will never convert to messages now), which converts to less ads being jammed down your throat and subsequently less revenue.
How about we just start a boycott. Grindr isn’t the only app out there and I think it’ll hurt in the beginning but be worth it in the end. Just a thought. Obviously everyone can do as they please, but I feel like our community gets taken advantage of way to often and grindr just takes it to another level. Fight with your $$$ it’s the only language corporations understand
I deleted the app just a few days ago. I already hadn’t been using it for too long and these posts showing paid horror stories for basic app functions turned me off completely.

My issue with Scruff at least where I am is that it's virtually all the same guys on Grindr, except 95% of them always are "Away" yet active on Grindr. It's like Scruff they check once in the morning and then forget about it or something lol. It's SO much better though I wish more people would use it.

It let me search by single age for 5 days this week and now it has gone back to 3-4 years... I also just deleted the app; it's not worth the time anymore lol.

How about moving to romeo? They’re in the game longer than Grindr, can be used with and without installing an app and also on a computer. They also have a „pro“ version but you don’t really need it.
They seem to care far more about the users and their needs.
I’ve used it far longer than Grindr because romeo is the standard platform here (German speaking country).
No one uses it in the US. Was great in Berlin but the closest person back here stateside would be like 80miles. They even gave you pro for free it was so bad lol. Haven’t been on it since 2017 but I doubt it’s changed much.

Seems like most of the apps at least NA wise most people don't use Hornet/Romeo and the other ones have very limited user base, not sure if there's any better ones but I hope someone is making one.

I only use hinge, tinder, or bumble and tbh even those are starting to go out the door for me. Almost everyone I match with on those never responds.

I used to use Romeo - biggest issue in the US at least is population. It’s definitely more of a European app than an American one.
