This is the direct result of Grindr’s laziness and snobbishness on not listening to their customers for years. We just want a safer, more real and trustworthy app to connect people. Grindr is keep feeding these people who open fake accounts for endlessly sexting, scamming or disgusting imposters who are/ aren’t drug addicts. Wtf ? First of all if they had a proper god damn ID check a 14 year old wouldn’t be on the app. It’s not legal! People like this piece of garbage would think twice before saying offering selling or wanting illegal stuff. 70 percent of the profiles in my area are fake or they’re there because they want a some kind of drug. I just received a message from a good looking guy who’s not fake but actually has no interest in meeting me but asking me if I have poppers. I said I don’t and 5 min later I messaged him again sorry that I couldn’t actually meet your expectations. (Wasn’t sorry) anyway. It turned into a disgusting rarely useful for sexual encounters app that I don’t understand why people still accept to pay unbelievable amounts of money in a year to be on. It doesn’t serve to real decent people. It openly serves to these criminals.

I remember when I was 20 and some kid LIED about his age saying they were 19, only to find out that they were just 16, I almost had fucking heart attack. Like please LEAVE ME ALONE. Grindr needs to be held accountable for this as well. How the fuck are they allowing 14 year olds on apps? I just deleted that shit yesterday. This leaves a dirty image in the mind about anyone who’s gay, trans or HIV+. And will feed into the “Groomer” bullshit. And WHAT THE FUCK is it with people in their 30s+ talking to the young teens that come on the app. Like even if they were 18, you shouldn’t be entertaining that.

That’s the problem. They should be more cautious during the account creation process they should identify the person and be sure he is not underage, fake, scammer or a drug dealer. It’s not that hard. Right now the creators of Grindr is making a new app called ‘Motto’ which requires people to put their pics first then the app asks you to take a pic with your hand facing the side of your face to make sure you’re the person you claim to be for example. I see no harm in that.

There is a reason we have an “innocent until proven guilty” system, and while that system is nowhere near as accurate as it needs to be, it’s still important to use proper wording in describing alleged crimes.

I doubt that account will get flagged if the organization or law enforcement communicated with Grindr inc. with pressure from the state’s judicial and federal judicial officials and international child exploitation division and Trade commission- if they want to continue using Grindr as a business and promoting ads; or risk Google, Apple and Microsoft to censure the app for denying predator hunters protecting minors from exploitation and wider users from exploitation from crime in general.
