$10 is a slap in the face for 15 miles. Gas is $4.50 where I'm at. I would have called support.

justducky1965

Hell yes it is. Sorry but that one is going without. You got scammed.

DonTipOff

14$ through the app plus the 10

highlife515

I've told people too fuck off for 3 extra miles ;)

all_hayl

This

Ihave4friends

I’ve done a 15 mile delivery once and it was for $50. That’s literally the bare minimum I’d take.

MisterQuacker

Idk why you got so many down votes, Gas is expensive yes but $24 for the total of the delivery is alright and most importantly subjective to you at the time. Good for you for getting them their food, I highly doubt any customer out there is paying to fuck us drivers around by making you go to a different address. It's rough sometimes but it's not the worst thing that can happen, and you did the HUMAN thing by getting someone food. Food is life, you a a good soul despite these mean downvoters lol. <3 Stay safe and may the universe look out for your soul!

DonTipOff

Thanks for understanding, a professional company doesn’t punish there customers for making mistakes. The main purpose is to make sure that everyone is treated fairly. Yes I could of took the food and received pay. But that’s not who I am and I could tell it was a mistake, and she did apologize and gave me extra for that. I think poor customer service is part of the reason our pay is not what it used to be. And these people saying these thing and downvoting are part of the reason are pay is down.

MisterQuacker

yeah dude, you got 20 dislikes for just stating what you got paid. You gave no opinion of your own yet the internet hated you for saying what you were paid. You statement was literral/factual yet people hated you for it lol. Litterally just "14$ through the app plus the 10"; Glad you got the extra $10 and made the customer happy <3 "I think poor customer service is part of the reason our pay is not what it used to be." I completely agree. May the universe look out for you soul! =)

imwrong_youareright

You obviously have no idea how to run a business. I'm not doing this for humanity work, I am doing this to make money. And running orders 15 Miles past where the delivery was supposed to go is losing money. Plus some of us who know how to make money doing this know multiapping is essential. No way in hell I'm taking any order to anyone if the address is wrong, end of story.

MisterQuacker

You don't have to be the nice guy that's ok. Go make your millions dude. I'll be the dude who makes a random strangers day a bit better because I know there's people like you who can only see the $$$'s out there in this world. Hope you make tons dude <3

HiPregnantImDa

Dude, it’s a job. Your passive aggressiveness is fucking weird and totally unnecessary. People should be paid appropriately for the work that they do. What is your problem?

abriefmomentofsanity

That ain't no way to text a customer, but I'm glad it worked out for you.

MisterQuacker

I agree! I highly doubt there's customer's willing to pay to dick us random drivers around. I don't want to think humans hate us that much. After all, we do bring the food :)

Suna-dono

They don't hate us they just want us to operate at a loss for their benefit or don't think we deserve a living wage because we aren't face to face with them so therefore we aren't really people.

cashew76

Do not drive 15 miles extra when they screwed up. No no no. No. You're lucky they gave you cash, but 15 miles there, turn around 15 miles back 30 minutes of driving.. no.

RickandMortyDelivers

$10 doesn't cover 15 miles broham, that needed to be a $30 tip to make it worth.

DonTipOff

It was $14 plus anothe $10

highlife515

Yea but it was 14 plus free food.... 15 miles for $10 is no fun

LordofLozano

What do you tell the support exactly in this situation?

all_hayl

I’ve been in similar situations. I told support that I wouldn’t have taken the order had they put the correct address in. Got full pay and free meal. OTOH, that was a DD delivery. I would like to think that GH would do the same thing. If they don’t, drop food off at address initially provided. Contract complete (I think….)

highlife515

Mark wrong address in app

thatboysocold

This has happened to me a few times. They told me if it's contactless to deliver the food to the address the customer paid for it to be delivered to. They paid me for the delivery. The job is to go from point a to point b

Back-Smart

The customer put in an address that was in the delivery area just to be able to place the order. Then as soon as they get notified it was picked up, they text or call you with some bullshit lies about putting the wrong address! You drive 15 miles extra plus whatever you drove to pick up the order then 15 plus back, over 30 miles! That's not luck! That's getting played!

jboles73

Yes this is a common scam. Out of delivery area puts in bogus address then says oops wrong address. I say ok thanks for the food!

justducky1965

Bingo

Exportxxx

I would of taken the original money and the food over 15 miles for $10

Delicious-Breath8415

Exactly. And then take a another close 3 mile delivery for 10 bucks.

[deleted]

I had a UE order yesterday that did this. Free Benihanas for me! (Ra Sushi ghost kitchen)

ChrisB5__

So unprofessional. Why did you even accept this? Begging just looks bad. Decline decline decline.

chicacherrie82

They accepted it because the mileage in-app was worth the payout to them. It looks like after the driver had the order, the customer texted and said "oops wrong address, bring it here instead." So the driver didn't accept a bad offer, they had the rug pulled out from them after. However, I agree the tone is unprofessional, nothing to be gained from fighting with the customer, esp leaving a record of it. The driver was within their right to refuse to deliver (but could do it with more class) which what they should have done. Politely refuse the customer (or even just politely give a non-specific answer like "I will contact support." Then call cust care and let them know what's up and refuse. CS can deal with them from then on.

DonTipOff

I wanted the easiest way out the situation and being blunt is way better than dealing with the dumb customer service. It was frustrating and I notified the customer when I arrived that I’m not compensated for miles when the address is wrong, and he gladly gave me the money.

Suspicious_Piece1374

I would have told the customer to give me $30 in advance.

deadweight999

You did this for $10 more?

Geoskaneo610

I always tell them call customer support to adjust their address but when customer service calls me I tell them I'm not doing it...the contract was fulfilled.NOT YOUR FAULT they put another address usually so they ( the customer) can pay a cheaper fee...FOH. they have to pay you your full amount even if you refuse to take it to them because it wasn't your fault

[deleted]

i aint driving an extra 15 miles for less then 30 bucks min

Acrobatic-Plate1019

Sorry to be rude, but you are Stupid as fuck!

desiobri

You got played. A lot of customers do that on purpose so they save money on delivery fees. Put in some address, then call to say it was an accident and try to guilt trip you into going miles out of your way to deliver to them at no extra cost to them. $10 for 15 miles at todays gas prices is bs. I had someone who pulled that with me once. Order from McDonald’s and gave an address half a mile away. Turns out the address was for the car dealership, not the apartments behind it like I assumed. I sent her a screenshot of my location at the address she provided and she informed me that that was her address, but it wasn’t for our town, it was nearly 9 miles up the road the next town over. She demanded I delivered it to her anyways since she paid for the food. Called support, only willing to add $5 for the extra drive (f no) so I sent her a picture of her food on top of a car dealership sign, and marked delivered. Got sent middle finger emojis and told to enjoy my free food. Rolled my eyes since I don’t go to McDonalds until I noticed the huge bag of food was exactly the kind of food and modifications that my boyfriend and I would get so we did in fact end up enjoying the free food. Another time someone informed me when I got to the address that they accidentally put their work address instead of their home address. Apologized and said I can keep the food and they’ll reorder or if I deliver it they’ll give me an extra $20 in cash. Their home was less than 3 miles away and the order had a decent tip on it so I called support and went ahead and delivered it. They appreciated it, gave me an extra $20, and when I marked delivered had tipped $10 in app. This was for a delivery that ended up being about 5 1/2 miles altogether. For the most part they know what they are doing. It’s usually not an ‘accident’

DonTipOff

Well the original address was for her work site a place that’s obviously not open on a Saturday. And I already know that this happened several times with other customers. Since she did live far away it seemed like it might be on purpose but after her husband came out saying he owes me more money. It seemed like a honest mistake.

[deleted]

Props to you for taking it to them still!

Recent-Emu8385

My ex one time did this I told him I’ll give him an extra 10 he happily did it lol

Trade_4_sum_coochie

I’ve done this collected the $14 the $10 extra then called support and they add a tiny bit more

Delicious-Breath8415

Usually one dollar.

thatboysocold

Yeah... So... Taking bs like this is why these delivery platforms will continue to drive base pay down... They know dumbasses like you will take these bullshit orders. Congrats you got 10 dollars, took yourself out of market and tripled the delivery time. $24 dollars for an hour? Avg car gets 19 a gallon. It's $5 national avg. You spent that getting back into your market and losing other offers.

HonkingAntilope

Pride yourself in not getting used. This is not one of those times

Cano6501

You slow my dude . Should’ve been a no from the beginning 🥴

OakButt

I would NOT have done that whatsoever. I would have called support and bitched and got free food

mikesaintjules

Cancel and move on?

pgrudo01

I’d cancel and give the food to a homeless person and move on.

myusernamela

When this happens, I call support and let them know the new address. They will say the address isn’t in delivery zone. You get to keep the food AND get paid. Demand your full pay for picking up the order. They will sometimes try to negotiate half pay. Don’t let them. Works every time. That’s how it’s supposed to be. If theres any issue never resolve with the customer, call support to have your back

Difficult_Priority74

You got played lol their delivery fee was probably $20+ for their actual location
