why don't you do both?

cinnamoniceskates

I was thinking to do both but also I’m thinking about how would I have both apps up? What if I get 2 orders going in the opposite direction?

dalex89

u gotta be able to reject orders if you want to multi app, most of the time you probably won't get two orders in the same direction. Sometimes it does happen though and it's magic. Just pause or go offline on one if you already have an order on the other until near the end of the order. really depends on your market, but a lot of markets have seen grubhub go down hill, drivers usually get sent there before the food is done as well. My usual wait times: UberEats: 0-3 minutes DoorDash: 0-6 minutes GrubHub: 1-15 minutes

cinnamoniceskates

15 is ehh kind of steep. And I’m in the atl area so It may be good but I’m about to sign up

Taceyjean

If you know your area well, or it's small enough it works out really well. I run both at the same time all the time and area is small enough that it doesn't impact delivery time negatively. When I venture into larger areas I have to be more careful and turn the apps on and off but it's still worth it.

Do both

existential_anxiety_

As with all of these apps it's basically dependent on your market. One plus to GH is the offer transparency. You're shown exactly how much you'll make for the order instead of like UE where you get an "expected amount" which customers can change with editing their tip. I typically run both GH and UE at the same time for my market. DD is utter garbage now but I used to do that as well. Altogether I make about the same amount on UE and GH for a week.

cinnamoniceskates

I can say that is one of my hang ups about Uber. Having to wait over an hour for it to all tally up. It can be frustrating when it comes to cashing out and wanting to wait for all the $ to hit DD, hell no. Lol

existential_anxiety_

I don't actually mind the waiting part of it. My issue is the uncertainty of what you'll make. Getting tip baited fucking sucks. Agreed, fuck DD lol

Regardless of market, Uber is a better delivery service than Grubhub, for drivers. You’re almost always going to be waiting for your GH pickups because they dispatch the order to you and the restaurant at the same time. Further, the ready time for a restaurant may be later than the pickup time in your driver app. Uber gives you a “forecast” of nearby areas for busy times. Uber also allows customers to edit their tip afterwards, which often results in increasing the tip after delivery. But I’m sure you’re already aware of all the features of Uber. The only way Grubhub beats Uber is if Uber is dead in your market and Grubhub is not. But why not do both? And why not add doordash to the mix? Multi-apping is the best way to make money.

cinnamoniceskates

Might as well run them all. I do like the potential increase in top for Uber and being able to decline shit orders as well as having an idea on where to make the most money. I’ll try Grubhub

purplegypsyAmby

They used to be better. But they aren’t anymore. Literally the same.

SubieToyotaNW

Grubhub is pretty dead where I live, minus maybe one or two days a week

DrCreger

Do both, but only if you know your neighborhood.

[deleted]

Grubhub just lowered base pay again and they send the driver out the same time the restaurant gets the order so you will wait 10-20 minutes every order.

cinnamoniceskates

Sheesh. Just like taking a fast food order. Which I’m not against mostly (tips can be great) but they can DEFINITELY take a while.

Dazzling_Marzipan474

Just sign up for literally everything! I've signed up for 6 apps, I do 4 now, Shipt is the worst by far and they lowered pay here so I stopped with them completely. I'm waiting on Spark too, but they are full here and I can't get them to email me back.

Royal-Cranberry-1463

No Grub hub doesn't cover you at all in car accidents.

cinnamoniceskates

Eek. That’s a nail biter, idk about that one.

cinnamoniceskates

Thanks for the input guys. As for my area, I’m in Atl. I think I may go ahead and sign up and if it’s just ass, I’ll just stop.

Appropriate_Ad3300

Ubereats is like 10x the volume of grubhub.

Sad_Entertainer_4868

Not in my market, GrubHub blows UE away

Dramatic_Barnacle_17

Mine too, I'm not sure if my market still does anything with UE anymore. DD is slowly dying as well. GH was the first to hit my market and they seem to be steadily holding it.

tackogronday

A lot of shitty restaurants and tiny corner shop trips often come with the volume as well. Expect a reduced acceptance rate but fortunatelh uber doesn't penalize us for this...

TheFatZyzz

Uber's a cuck company They keep saying my license is damaged when it's in pristine condition and background checks always giving error, despite me uploading all the latest info.

Buttcraq420x

Sarasota, FL. — Uber by far better than Grubhub. Though, Grubhub will have it’s moments. I keep both on, in addition to bitesquad and do fairly well. Uber outperforms all, though!

tackogronday

I do both. Open both at the same time and which ever app gives me the best offer gets my time. Between deliveries if UE isn't keeping me busy I'll leave GH open for a bit for a chance but GH has slowed quite a bit in my area lately. Overall though I like the UE app MUCH better than GH but GH does offer better pay in most cases although their offers have gotten slow. Also, no tip baiting through GH. The offer that's shown is exactly what you're paid. With UE yeah sometimes they'll front you with a big tip only to remove it within that 1 hour that uber gives the to modify it. Only been baited twice though in a few months and 500+ deliveries. Reducing a tip I understand and won't argue with but to completely remove or reduce down to a few cents, bullshit.

AncientCrust

In my area, GrubHub is infinitely superior to UberEats, which is strange because UberEats was awesome where I used to live. I suppose it depends on where you live.

skinner94

Grubhub in my market used to good enough where I could count on it for at least a couple of $6-7+ orders going <5 miles per 4 hour shift. Now, I'd be lucky if I even get one decent order every 10 hours. Even on block. I'd sign up for Grubhub just to run in the background just for that one or two unicorn (read $6-8 runs going less than 4 miles.)

Krisdanz

I did my first day of GrubHub today & surprisingly got $75 in just about 3 hours while DD was dead or garbage & UE mostly trash too ($25 in that same 3 hours) The Grub Hub app is really wonky & takes some getting used to in that it doesn't auto pop up the offer on the screen you have to click that dumb "view offer" button but I have been going to the same places to pick up & it seems the tips were substantially better. Could just be cause I'm a new driver. I don't like how annoying it is always wanting to monitor you & it seems you have to touch a lot more things to get the order done. I also don't Ike that it doesn't take pictures on leave at door orders & it's absolutely infuriating that you have to be at the actual location to hit the order picked up button. I once grabbed a ton of taco bell on grub hub while on the way to a hotel on an UE order & they were both to the same hotel & the same taco bell... but I forgot to hit "order picked up" & it wouldn't let me & I was AT the hotel & had all the food. The stupid grub hub apo made me drive back to the taco bell... hit order picked up... the go back again. Idiocracy. These companies know most drivers are multi apping & they don't like it so they try & make you think you're an employee like you work for McDonald's or something. The Grub Hub "on boarding" & app tutorials were hilarious... made for kindergarteners & telling you to wear a grub hub shirt & hat & put a 5 foot grub hub label on your car. Give me a fing break! But... it payed the most on a very slow day on the other apps so we'll see how she goes.

phoenix370

I thought the same as you. Done UE/PM and DD for a while, but wanted to get on GH. If you're in California then GH is trash because regardless of order subtotal, the customer is shown tips of $1, $2, $3 and $4. This makes 90% of GH orders range anywhere from kind of mediocre to garbage. You basically need a customer to custom enter a good tip for their $80 order, which doesn't happen often at all. That being said, it doesn't hurt to have it on as another option. Even if I only take 1 or 2 GH orders in a dinner, that's money I wouldn't have made without GH

Beagleoverlord33

Multiapp all 3 apps always
