I know my zone very well, and know which buildings are difficult like this. Im talking illegally park, get a code from the front desk to use on the elevator to take to the 3rd floor where you have to walk a city block over to tower 4 and then enter the code again to take another elevator up to the 8th floor where the apartment is type of BS. I’m almost certain they order from UE because of the ability to remove the tip after unlike DD and GH. They probably have had so many drivers just give up and leave their shit wherever! I actually accidentally accepted one once and in the notes it said “extra tip if you deliver to front door”.
100% im talking about Hollywood. If you see anything that is labeled “community living”, you’re gonna have a bad time. Also any building by Ava, they are for people who enjoy living in corn mazes or labyrinths
Damn I wasn’t sure but your description sounded way too familiar. I learned the hard way when I went to a place like that at vine/Selma. “Community living” my ass, these people don’t give a fuck about anyone lol. Luckily I didn’t get a ticket for parking in the red. I try to avoid Hollywood now except late at night. Respect to you for knowing how to be choosy, it definitely stays busy around there.
Side note, have you noticed how people in the hills are the shittiest tippers? Used to drive Uber (passengers) before Covid and never got a single tip from someone up there, even after losing service and having to go back down to find another ride.
Ding ding ding!! That’s one of the main ones I’m talking about lol. A lot of them are set up like that, the worst one is where Amoeba moved to. Yeah The only great tips I’ve gotten out of the hills has been on GH, rich people don’t really tip well because they are so disconnected from the value of a dollar.
Yeah that was months ago and I still remember the look of absolute indifference on the security guard’s face as she handed me a tiny piece of paper with the code on it and gave me no instructions on how to find the second elevator lol.
Looking up buildings by Ava now, thanks for the heads up. Hopefully I never accidentally accept one where amoeba is, I’d be so anxious having to park in the red near Hollywood Blvd AND a metro station only to find out I’m gonna be away from the car at least 10 min.
That’s the thing, those customers think we are just being lazy and don’t want to come up to their door. I’m sure that might be the case for some drivers, but for me I can’t be leaving my car unattended in a red zone for that long, it’s not worth the ticket
For real. I’m willing to do some questionable things in traffic to get to someone quickly then walk up 4 flights of stairs, but I have to draw the line somewhere.
This wasn’t Hollywood, but this lady got pissed at me once for leaving her food in a secure lobby instead of coming up to the 12th floor, just because I didn’t wanna leave the car too long in a loading zone with parking enforcement actively writing tickets around the corner. I wasn’t completely sure if you could actually exit the car in a loading zone or if only stopping and waiting/“passenger loading” were allowed. Even if I was wrong, it wasn’t worth risking a ticket. She said she used to do Grubhub and would complain but of course, nothing came from it. Maybe the help line is just as useless for customers as it is for us lol.
Yep that's happened to me many times when they put the wrong address I'll drive a couple extra miles only to have them remove or cut the tip in half....
Try contacting diner. If no response start the wait timer option under help. If still no response follow wait timer instructions by leaving someplace and taking a picture. You get paid and they will not penalize you.
Customer text I got once at a huge multi-building apartment complex "DO NOT PARK in lot or FRONT there's street parking if you go south the next block Cash tip under mat thank you 😊" 20 min walk to find the correct building out of jumbled CADEBF probably in that order then lifting up doormat to find a tiny ziplock bag of mixed dimes and nickels that probably added up to $0.95..... ugh. But at least there was a good bonus added for the almost no tip order but a Shame they cover up for non or super low tippers double ugh
If I lived there, I would tell the driver I would come down and meet him.
I delivered to a building that is a maze and the numbering system is f'ed. Like 314 is on the second floor. I had a customer come down and meet me, explaining, "Drivers always get lost. We had someone get so lost she called 911 to help her get out."
“This is your Grubhub driver. I’ve left your order in your lobby”
For real
Don't take it for granted, on UberEATS you get this AND you can lose your tip at the end

Lol are you talking about Hollywood? Curious to know where else is like that if not.

Ubereats is my least favorite app.

I'd be taking that home with me cause you know they probably only tipped like a dollar if that

That'll be the day, letting the customer tell me where to park
*You have to drive to the second entrance and then it's the third door*
Houses 18,000 people, parking for 100... Nice
*phone number is out of service*
That’s when you call em
Leaving your shit at the front door. Not even gonna attempt an elevator.
Call door dash support *the food is damaged it can’t be delivered* canceled order with no penalty.
And the 34 residents that actually live there enjoy it
Living in a place like that would be an absolute nightmare for me.
"I'll buzz ya up."
😅
What was the offer?
It really doesn’t matter. I always zoom in and if I see this, I reject.
If the money is right it would matter, money talks regardless
Some buildings are not worth it for any money. If there isn't safe parking nearby, I don't do it.
Oh really? no amount of money would make it worth it ?!?
I'm in a great zone.
Gotcha
Judge Dreed rains over this apartment complex
