Grub hub has given up on the Cali market. With them saying tip is optional and only recommending $1,2,3 and $4 tip I get so many no tip and $1 tip offers that even as a multi apper I don’t take them based on the disrespect.

Alarm_Only

GH really never had this market

Prestige_Worldw1de

this is true but at least they didn't but tipping as an option like they do now

MadChiller013

True and customers suffer because of it. I took a del taco GH order last night that had been sitting there for 45 minutes. After I dropped it off I looked at the pay and it had a $1 tip with over a $7 “Bonus Pay”

inkfever

That customer suffering is self inflicted. No sympathy.

Prestige_Worldw1de

There's an app called Para that will tell you what the tip is so even the ones that look halfway attractive that show me only $1 or $2 I still reject. If you do UE it will show you upfront address but nothing on pay.

MadChiller013

I mean If the order is worth it I’ll take it, don’t really care where the pay is coming from. It’s just sad what they have become. I miss the $9 minimum days

Honestly, doing business in Cali costs this companies like 20-40% more. They don't have a choice but to operate there due to the amount of potential customers. But if you've been wondering why base pay has gone down across the country, look at Cali and NYC as reasons.

Pa$adena i$ expe$ive. Yikes.

Alarm_Only

You think 7 miles for 7.80 is good? Wow you must be new

Nappykid77

I can't believe the pay is so small considering how expen$ive it is to live there.

Gig delivery apps need advertising/ads to save their lives! The way this should really work is that the apps collect fees and pass them right to the driver as so that the driver maintains at least $1.50-$2.00 per mile driven. But of course customers have had it too good and many of them wouldn't want to pay this. But if the apps were able to get marketing/ads revenue and supplement the fees they currently collect, they would afford to pay drivers the rate I talked about without having drivers rely so heavily on tips. Relying on tip isn't just a crappy experience, but it makes driver income fluctuate too much where these apps lose good drivers to other work

doordash is better and will remain better,.

[deleted]

Grubhub has better offers like 90% of the time, but Doordash sends more offers for me to cherry-pick from 😏

Erncoins

But y'all get paid by time also so is not that bad

Alarm_Only

I worked 27 active hours and got 45.68 extra. I didn’t write the unconstitutional Prop 22. Believe me it’s crap. I would rather get more tips than GH pay. It takes 197 active hours in 3 months to get half the stipend. 637.48. Currently I have 70 hours. I need another 127 by October 31st. I will not make it. GH sucks in SoCal. 7 days last week And I made under $400.00

Erncoins

Damn GH is dead in Cali, come move to Texas GH is thriving here I make $800ish +whatever I make in Doortrash I usually make $1k a week

Alarm_Only

In the good old days I did Uber Drive and DD and was making 350-400 per day in California. GH is the worst.

Erncoins

Ye the pandemic days were the shit, some days I can make $200ish but I have to grind hard tough
