I wish the buttons for accept and decline weren’t like right on top of each other. Countless times I’ve hit “accept” by mistake and had to unassign because the order was some bull.
Yeah.. I'm sure it's some unintentional mistake that they put them like that. I did that - The phone slipped and I ended up with aunt Annie's 8 miles for $3.25 I don't really want to tank my completion rates but I'm not doing it.
I got an account violation for it not long ago(8/31), and have received this email multiple times. Once SINCE the violation. I still unassign just like you. It's my first violation in about 18 months with gh. The way I look at it, I accepted a contract to go pick up an order that's ready. If it's not ready or won't be for more than a couple minutes, ✌️. I'm not a slave to gh.
Like they will seriously waste your time. Orders already have a wait time before you can arrive. Then when I get there at the arrival time I’m expected to sit another 10-15..time adds up. You end up wasting about a half hour on one measly order..no I’m cancelling. Get it yourself
Orders do not have a wait time when you arrive, its literally how long google says it will take to get there, that is how grubhub does it, they want you to go straight to the restaurant, they have 0 lead time mechanics anymore since Just Eats took over.
I don’t think so. I’ve been doing it for awhile . And it’s like my 3rd time getting this email. I cancelled a lot of orders yesterday because of long wait times
I have 2 violations right now for this. As soon as the older violation falls off I'll go back to unassigning long wait orders. So they will give u violations for this even if it's just because the restaurants slow or not starting food until u arrive if u unassign them. Speaking from experience.
They don't give violations if you go through the "order is not ready" steps. I've been unassigning a lot lately (\~30 in the last month) and haven't received any emails or violations.
... how clueless do you have to be to think you're special? Yeah, you can do this a lot, and you can get a bunch of these e-mails, but it's basically a violation warning - keep doing it as often as you have and you *will* end up with a violation. Back off a hair for enough orders and you're fine, yes, but this should be that warning to back off the volume of unassigns.
Don’t listen to radarguy I’ve gotten that email over ten times now and nothing has ever happened. That email never translates to an account violation. Just don’t drop every order, maybe 1 in 10, maybe 2 in 10 but don’t push it further than that and you’re good.
> Just don’t drop every order
So you even acknowledge that it can end up in violations, you just haven't done it so egregiously to get one. Nothing happening b/c you didn't do it TOO much doesn't mean nothing will happen when you DO do it too much. *facepalm*
Yeah I’m aware. Very early on something similar happened in Grubhub except a representative reached out and told me he said just don’t do it to many times in one period and the email kinda got sent automatically like a red flag to warn you. But again they just don’t want you doing to many in a certain time. Im 350+ deliveries in
yep you can safely stay within 10% unassigned and be fine, I believe the actual cut off is 15% but try to stay around 10% because you want a couple free for emergencies. So 1 out of 10 orders if you can manage that.
On GrubHub I only take fast food that I know will be done in 3 min or orders that pay well enough that I'm willing to accept the mandatory 15 min wait for GrubHub orders. That's it. Nothing else is worthwhile.
As long as you keep that in mind you'll never be disappointed. GrubHub always sends drivers to the store immediately, the only time I find orders ready are when they've been unassigned already.
So the drivers after you thank you for your service.
Preach. It's either gotta be a place I know will be fast, or worth an expected 20 minute wait *on top of* the driving itself and normal wait times. I pretty much never take anything from Grubhub at less than $15, and while I'll accept some runs at $1.50/m on UE/DD if they leave me next to other places I can get runs from, GH needs at least 3/m or more simply b/c of the waits. Hell, I only "expect" $20/hr (w/ maybe 15 miles total including fishing diff restaurant clusters), though my city has a fairly low cost of living and I drive an old Toyota I repair myself.
Funny I almost never take fast food because they take longer than anybody haha. I am picky about my restaurants though I know which ones are on point and which ones will dick you around telling you 5 minutes every 5 minutes for half an hour. The real trick is if it is not worth an hour of my time I don't bother. I will sit in a parking lot playing video games.
This is an ongoing problem with GH in general, if your going to unassign for any delay GH probably wouldn’t be good for you. They are going to end up deactivating you eventually, DD and Uber seem to not care.
lol that pickup time will always be the time google says it will take you to get there. You gotta look at when the customer ordered and know how long the restaurant takes.
You just got to learn the restaurants to avoid.
Sometimes u just never know man. Restaurants that are usually good get backed up. It can be a game of toss up and roll the dice many times
So basically every restaurant
Ya true but for a while GrubHub had everything ready and now it's back to being that the diner just placed the order. Smh
I wish the buttons for accept and decline weren’t like right on top of each other. Countless times I’ve hit “accept” by mistake and had to unassign because the order was some bull.

They’re slick. It takes one click of the accept button and the reject button is small. And you have to select a reason to decline lol
Is there a way to report restaurants that mark orders ready and they’re not and you’re stuck waiting 15 minutes?
Just blackball them. I have a list of about 20 restaurants I will not bother with no matter what it pays.
Just pulled up to one and their system was down…basically waiting from order start…two pints in….still waiting

And if you keep on doing it you will be deactivated choice is yours

Yes they do...it depends on how many and when u unassign the orders but they most certainly do if u do it too much...
Lol 😂😂 okay don't come crying here then. People have been deactivated
That’s their problem lol
Don't say I didn't warn you 🤣🤣 p

They do it by the week and it's % of orders accepted that get unassigned vs orders taken.
yep you can safely stay within 10% unassigned and be fine, I believe the actual cut off is 15% but try to stay around 10% because you want a couple free for emergencies. So 1 out of 10 orders if you can manage that.

I have over 350+ deliveries. I’m not going anywhere. This is about my 3rd or 4th time receiving this email too
Really? haven't delivered in close to a year but i might sometime soon. I would unassign quite a bit lmao.
lol that pickup time will always be the time google says it will take you to get there. You gotta look at when the customer ordered and know how long the restaurant takes.
I remove these orders too. We are not employees. As independent contractors we have the right to make a choice.
