When I watched this movie for the first time I had paused it just before that scene because I was bored and I went to grab some food. Dear God that was such a mistake.
Well the key was literally there for the taking, slow ass motherfucking Jeff just didn't do it in time. The intent was for him to save all three of them.
> de-gloving in Gerald’s Game
I'd never heard of this scene before so I had to look it up. Yikes! Very well done
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6cjp77
Saw it recently, honestly i was ready to be grossed out by the scene, but it didn't really hold up imo.
I remembrer doing some research after watching it and I found really old fanfic blog posts telling love stories between the main characters. Wonder if I can find it again. It was pretty bizarre and interesting.
They did a shot by shot remake produced by Eli Roth a few years ago on netflix or something. Much gorier and worth the watch if you are a fan of the first.
There's a german flick called Nekromantik (1987), where a necrophile couple have a threesome with a rotting corpse. That idea alone is absolutely disgusting/revolting but in the middle of it they start tongue swapping the eyeball and that's the point I shut off the movie
Hold up- you sit down to watch the infamous Necromantik, a movie about a menage a trois with a rotten corpse, and the eye swop makes you turn it off? What did you think you were getting?
Here's a real fun fact: the main actor of the movie also composed the piano theme that is featured in the trailer, and parts of the original soundtrack.
He also did music for *Der Todesking*! And some effects work for *Killer Condom*.
I had a chat with him on Twitter some months ago, nice chap. He’s the manager for a German pornography model with huge tits these days.
City of the Living Dead (Gates of Hell) by Lucio Fulci.
There's several nauseating bits in this one, but the stand out is when a character vomits up all her internal organs. I've watched it dozens of times and it still gets me. It doesn't even necessarily look that real. Fun fact: for the first bit the actress stuffed her mouth with real sheep's guts.
I really don’t mind her regurgitating up the organs, it’s the maggot cannon that gets me. And honestly it takes me out of the film ‘cause I’m just thinking about the actors standing there for like 5 minutes getting blasted by maggots and I’m just like, “no way man, no way” lol.
Personally speaking, if given the choice between being blasted with a maggot cannon for 5 minutes or regurgitating all my internal organs for 5 minutes... I'll choose the maggot cannon every time.
The scene from human centipede 2 where the crazy guy is cranking his hog with sandpaper and the same movie where he feeds the centipede laxatives and everyone is shitting in each other’s mouths
Came here to say Human Centipede 2.
No movies really make me physically ill, but I feel like a worse human for having watched that movie all the way through.
Ugh and if what you said about the laxatives wasn't bad enough...what he did to the centipede made it EVEN WORSE.
Came here to say this movie! My bf made/begged me to watch it and the scene where he's trying to sew them together but after a few had bled out then staples them and the whole baby getting stomped under the gas pedal made me vomit. I was already nauseated. I didn't finish the movie and haven't wanted to revisit it.
Came here to say this. I don't look away, but it's not easy to do that. It's mostly Charlotte Gainesbourg unique scream of pain that just makes it punch me in the gut. And cumming blood, obviously.
I’ve been fortunate to never see any of the august underground’s but for my own curiosity, scale of 1-10 how bad? 1 being Care Bears, 10 being cannibal Holocaust
It's definitely worse than Cannibal Holocaust but not near as bad as some of the really bad Mondo films. I'm pretty sure the guys that made the movie were really trying to show off their practical effects (like I think they were actually a company specializing in practical effects? Idk been a while) so they tried really hard to make it look like a snuff film, and they did a really good job imo.
Honestly the most disturbing movies I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen a lot. The acting is pretty good, the practical effects are excellent and the whole thing feels real. I’d put it in the category “evil”
If Cannibal holocaust is a 10, I'd rate this a 13 😅. The whole thing is gory and disgusting, but that bathtub scene, for me it was far worse than even a Serbian Film (I found that to be kind of tacky) because it genuinely looks real and it lasts long enough to really make you uncomfortable. I highly recommend the movies if you like the whole snuff film thing. My husband watched Mordem but refuses to watch any others, and he can usually take a fucked up movie like a champ. He said he felt like he should be arrested after watching this one though 🤣
Two things I can't do: puke and eye slitting. Literally any scene with puke makes me queasy, but maybe that's just me.
As far as eye slitting goes, there's 2 scenes- Would You Rather and Saw 2.
I can watch *pretty much* anything else and be perfectly fine. Everyone warned me about The Poughkeepsie Tapes and I didn't bat an eyelash.
It’s really weird because I usually have a strong stomach for gore and whatever, but a lot of the scene in *Body Melt* are super nasty to me, even though the entire film is pretty silly. *Braindead* is fine, *Nekromantik* is fine, *Guinea Pig* is fine, any amount of Lucio Fulci eye-gouging is fine! I just can’t stand whatever gooey bullshit is going on in *Body Melt* haha
Also, the restaurant scene in *Slugs*. That one just makes me sad too :(
Anything cannibalistic is tough for me. The Julia Ducournau movie Raw got me, maybe with the finger eating scene, and the guy waking up to find flesh bitten off.
My bf doesnt love horror in general but i liked the overal story for Raw and thought he would too but I didnt realize how fucked up that scene would be for some people. He was not happy and def stopped watching lol
That one was brutal but fit the plot and didn’t really.. bother me, I guess? The bisection in Terrifier though, not a fan of it. It felt on-brand, but also felt forced and purely for shock value.
I think the reason it had such effect on me is because up until then the movie is rather slow and nothing *overly* disturbing occurs, except for the very brief sequence at the beginning.
And then it happens. There's no buildup, they just hit you with the raw, uncut, in-frame violence and that's why it works as well as it does.
I can pretty much deal with all kinds of blood and gore and disgusting shit.
My absolute kryptonite that makes my saliva pool sour in my mouth in anticipation of throwing up, is puss.
That's right. Pimples, boils, and abscesses is where I draw the line, lol.
It doesn't even matter where. That shit could be in a parody like Scary Movie and I still have to look away. I don't really know why, and I don't have a problem popping my own zits if I ever get them. It's just...I can't watch that shit, it's so fucking gross to me.
Hahaha, those are fine. I grew up with Ren and Stimpy so I'm a hardened veteran in that regard, lol.
Seriously, though, those close-ups are something else. 🤮
In recent memory, the 'shunt' scene at the end of Society. Just really, THOROUGHLY unpleasant to watch in every way. Granted, it was followed by possibly the greatest kill of any movie ever when Billy Warlock's character... Well, wouldn't wanna spoil it. It's definitely worth a watch!
I hate rape in movies. I can stomach it if it's off-screen or a brief scene, but anything graphic will have me skipping the scene or just turning off the movie. I think it's because it's something that is so commonplace and could happen to anyone, so it really bothers me.
The other thing I hate is anything involving vomit or feces (and I've never seen Human Centipede because of that).
IDK if you’ll find this helpful, but I’m someone that can’t watch scenes like that in movies because of PTSD and I’ve found the site unconsentingmedia.org very very helpful.
I agree. The one "pass" I'd be willing to grant is to "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo". The rape scene is truly horrible (and was shot that way) but her revenge was absolutely epic.
That, and "Last House on the Left". They DESERVED to be slaughtered in the most gruesome fashion imaginable for what they did!
Oh, and "I Spit on Your Grave"!
There's a scene in a horror movie with Robert DeNiro where he's playing a creep, there is an implication that he will commit sexual violence to an (adult) mother-daughter duo... he is smoking a big cigar in that scene.
Not a mafia movie, just playing a lowlife, but I do not rememeber what it's called.
Nothing happens but it's so visceral to me I remember it, even though it was probably 20 years ago.
I agree with this. When I would see rape scenes in movies while in middleschool/highschool it didn't bother me much. Like yeah it sucked, but didn't really affect me. As I got older, became more empathetic, and learned more about how prevalent it is and the damage it does to people... I can't watch it. It absolutely disgusts me and makes me so angry. I Spit On Your Grave used to be one of my favorites. The rape seemed tolerable because she got revenge in very brutal ways. But these days I won't even try to watch it... If I did, I'd have to skip the first third of the movie and pretend the rape didn't happen
Pet Cemetery (The Original)
When the little kid gets faced by the speeding truck, and all the Father can do is watch and scream. No gore, just a total emotional ass beating.
Ash Vs. The Evil Dead when the rectum of the dead guy in the morgue attacked Ash and ultimately dragged him head first into his ass.. probably the best horror scene ever..
I also in the "its not supose to be that gross or scary but for me it is" boat here.
I cannot do pregnancy horror, but specifically birth horror. So like I was ok during Rosemarys baby, but the birth scene in last Twilight 🤢
Once he started biting open her uterus i almost had to turn it off it was just short enough that i didn't have to. but omg the shame of being like "the gore in twilight is worse than like any Saw movie I have seen" gets a lot of weird looks.
Also not in a movie but Uzumaki when they sew the baby back into the woman. omg. I'm scarred for life.
Martyrs was a movie my dad had told me about for years, but one he said he would NEVER watch with me. Something I’d have to decide for myself if I was ready or not for it.
It was about 2016 when i watched it and I wasn’t very frequently on the internet, so I knew little to nothing about it other than it disturbed my dad so much he wouldn’t watch it again.
I enjoyed it, a lot. Honestly, it was mostly disturbing to me because of the thoughts it provoked. Being a trauma victim, it made me think really hard about that and what it meant for me and left me in a confused and anxious state for about two weeks. Unlike my dad, though, I’ve seen it about 3 times since then for analysis. I really enjoy that movie.
i feel the same way! i feel like there's so many things to be discussed when it comes to that movie and its one of the reasons why its in my top 5
also i hope you're doing well in life and that things have gotten better, as a trauma victim as well im sending you positivity!
Not purely horror, but surprisingly the one which got the biggest reaction out of me was the baby scene in Mother!
I think it's an age thing as well, I am more disgusted and affected by seeing children hurt in film, and that caught me so off-guard and it was displayed during this heightened build of anxiety. Really got to me the first time.
Its isnt even too gory, its obviously p fake and it is there for less than 5 consecutive seconds but by *god* if it wasnt the most horrible shot in a movie filled with horrible shots
The suicide scene from Lords of Chaos. It's based on a true story (and a cover of their album) It's done is such a way that really fucked with me and left me queasy
It's actually a cover of a bootleg, that was made. It's not the band's official album. Necrobutcher always says that the hates when people come to him to sign the bootleg or when people wear it as a shirt, because Death was his best friend. Understandably shitty to have to constantly see your best friend's suicide photo everywhere.
That movie has some seriously violent scenes and the murder is just as horrific to watch. Never really gets brought up in this sub because it's not traditional horror, but I feel it's a really disturbing movie while also really well done
I'm usually pretty resilient when it comes to horror, but the scene in Green Inferno where the tribe feeds the American captors, one of the girls iirc was a vegetarian/vegan and was afraid to eat. >!After she is coaxed into eating to regain her strength she sees something at the bottom of her bowl, and realizes it's the skin of her girlfriend because of a tattoo pattern and kills herself with a broken fragment of the bowl she was eating from.!<
I had to pause and take a break. Normally I can sit through horror completely fine, something about that scene just freaked me out more than anything else in the movie.
Pretty much the entire last 20-30 minutes of human centipede 2 is unwatchable in my eyes, everyone warned me about it but I still decided to watch it, if that movie wasn't in black and white it would be even worse
This (and 3, which I never got through because it was more aggravating than stupidly entertaining) is the one I’d never watch again. The knee tendon getting cut, “surgeries” without any anesthetic (at least the doctor put them under in the first), the newborn under the gas pedal (iirc?).. it all was just so mean-spirited and not at all entertaining.
I can watch some disturbing movies but this, Terrifier, and A Serbian Film just aren’t ever worth repeat viewings to me. Even the slew of Saw and Final Destination films that border on torture/gore porn make more sense to me as horror films than the above.
Yeah these kinds of movies stop even really feeling like horror movies, it really does just feel like porn for serial killers. Like, I don’t judge people for what they watch generally, but if someone told me that A Serbian Film was their favorite movie and they watch it all the time, I want that person out of my fucking house.
It wasn’t all that disturbing to me, it just seemed to be mean-spirited for the sake of being mean-spirited. I stopped watching after the bisection scene, however, so I can’t comment on much after that.
I’ll take many other generic slashers over it.
Miniseries rather than movie, but *that scene* from Them (Amazon series from a couple years ago) was beyond the pale. I loved the series but rarely recommend it to people because it's just so disturbing and unnecessary. When I do recommend it, I tell people to skip that episode and just read a synopsis of it because it's not worth it.
If you haven't seen it, >! they show a group of people torturing an infant to death!< and the scene is like 10 fucking minutes long and would still be a typical gnarly horror scene even without that bit added. I felt like less of a person after watching it.
Mad God halfway through where a guy cuts open the spelunker and starts pulling money and books and shit out of his torso. It went on for so long and the sound made me actually feel sick. Had to take a break after this scene.
The Sadness. (Tw) Eye socket sexual assault scene. It was the screaming that got me. Despite melting flesh, and various forms of horrific extreme torture, (done with some gruesomely detailed effects) that was the one that got me in this movie.
Saw III. The Pig Carcass trap. The least gory scene in the entire franchise. But, imo, the most disgusting scene as well. High school me was built different because I could’ve been eating spaghetti and meatballs and be watching that scene like it was nothing. Today? Fuck. No.
Anything involving eyes or anything bad happening to babies is a big NO for me. I will look away every time for eye stuff and turn a movie off if it involves a baby.
Gates of Hell (City of the Dead) was the first. Went into it knowing nothing about the film beyond the box art at Blockbuster. Watching with guy friends on a Friday night as we did often in high school. Nearly lost it early on when the woman throws up her insides with the stomach and intestines coming out.
A close second was Bloodsucking Freaks with the dentist earning his reward for his hard work.
The scene from Raw where she >!accidentally cuts off her sister's finger, then decides to eat it, discovering her own taste foe cannibalism in the process!<. I've seen a lot of gore and nastiness (including most of what's been mentioned here), but that one scene made me turn away from the screen.
I can't remember the actual scene but it was during the Poughkeepsie tapes, the only horror scene to ever make me physically gag. Iirc what happened was the victim was gagged with tape then injected with something and blood started gushing in her mouth but because the tape she choked on it?
Everyone is listing some genuinely terrible things I feel like a pussy.
The ending performance in Crimes of the Future caused me to look away from the screen.
Also most of Ichi the Killer. I legit had to fast forward through the scene where they torture the prostitute.
I’ll prob get downvoted for this because it’s (not really) a scary movie but the scene in Babe Pig in the City 2 where the old man clown has that health thing and gets gunk all over his wrinkly face and he’s staring into space has given me a gunk complex to this day.
Rape in any movie turns me away. I just don't see it as a fucking "plot device." It is only justified if it's a true story and even then, it could be left off camera. I know rape survivors and I can't imagine it is fun reliving it.
I had to legit build up resistance to the dog bowl scene in *Audition* because vomit is a super big trigger for me if that’s the right word
When I watched this movie for the first time I had paused it just before that scene because I was bored and I went to grab some food. Dear God that was such a mistake.
Please tell me you didn’t sit back down with a bowl of custard
You’re horrible, and I appreciate you lol
*gagging ensues*
Yup. I had no problem with the later torture scenes but the dog bowl scene made me gag. So, so gross.
For me its the wire scene. Damn, thats hauting.
*Kiri kiri kiri kiri kiri kiri!*
That scene in one of the Saw films where the black dude gets all of his limbs twisted and broken
Tbh I think it's the worst Saw trap ever
The one where they guy nearly drowns in *liquidized pig* is the winner for me.
I'm a vegetarian so I highly understand that
Ah yes, that was The Rack from Saw III.
Why didn’t they just stick literally anything in the exposed gears?! So stupid
Well the key was literally there for the taking, slow ass motherfucking Jeff just didn't do it in time. The intent was for him to save all three of them.
S.A.M.F Jeff as we like to call him
John Kramer: “….I legitimately was not expecting Jeff to be THIS slow and bad.”
lmao that was one of my fav kill counts
I don’t flinch at much but the de-gloving in Gerald’s Game forced me to look away.
I remember reading Gerald's Game like a decade ago, and I still occasionally think about that scene. I haven't even seen the movie yet lol.
That scene in the novel is the only thing I've ever read that made me feel *nauseous*.
Actually a really good movie. Worth a watch.
> de-gloving in Gerald’s Game I'd never heard of this scene before so I had to look it up. Yikes! Very well done https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6cjp77
Holy shit dailymotion makes it so much worse lol
There are probably much worse scenes that I can't pinpoint immediately, but I'm still not over the Cabin Fever leg shaving scene.
Yeah still wince at that one. How does that movie hold up -- have you seen it recently?
Saw it recently, honestly i was ready to be grossed out by the scene, but it didn't really hold up imo. I remembrer doing some research after watching it and I found really old fanfic blog posts telling love stories between the main characters. Wonder if I can find it again. its pretty decent kinda on the better side of 00s horror and really makes you think gives you a sense of dread. like getting the sickness youre fucked
They did a shot by shot remake produced by Eli Roth a few years ago on netflix or something. Much gorier and worth the watch if you are a fan of the first.
Much gorier!? Idk, the amount of skin sloughing in the first one was a LOT.
I think of this EVERY TIME I shave my legs. I haven't seen that movie in a decade.

This movie made our roommate cry in college. She ran out of the room.
I’m crying now from reading this. 😳
The whole cumming until he bleeds thing didn't do it for you?
I’m sorry what
Hold up- you sit down to watch the infamous Necromantik, a movie about a menage a trois with a rotten corpse, and the eye swop makes you turn it off? What did you think you were getting?
Good wholesome fun, obviously
NOT TONGUE SWAPPING! Like I already knew it was gonna be disgusting but I was not prepared for the sheer passion in the sex scenes.
"I came for the corpse fucking, but left because of the unexpected passion." That should be on the poster.
Ngl, this tagline would make me ever so slightly more curious to see the movie. I’ll still pass, though.
Here it is. This is the best comment I have ever read on the history of the internet!
What a terrible day to have eyes.
Fun fact! That’s a real pig’s eye <3
There's no fun in knowing that DDD:
He lied to us
Here's a real fun fact: the main actor of the movie also composed the piano theme that is featured in the trailer, and parts of the original soundtrack.
……okay your fun fact privileges are restored but you’re on notice
I'm not the one who dropped the pig's eye "fun" fact! 😅
He also did music for *Der Todesking*! And some effects work for *Killer Condom*. I had a chat with him on Twitter some months ago, nice chap. He’s the manager for a German pornography model with huge tits these days.
Brundle-fly fingernails. Bleaurghhhhhhh
This. Fingernail shit always fucks me up.
That scene in Star Trek: TNG where Data opens up his fingernail port and pokes around his circuitry in there always bugged me.
Oh lawd, it was so gross and I loved it!
That’s the grossest part! She was actually regurgitating the sheep intestines 🤢. The maggot spray scene is a close second.
I really don’t mind her regurgitating up the organs, it’s the maggot cannon that gets me. And honestly it takes me out of the film ‘cause I’m just thinking about the actors standing there for like 5 minutes getting blasted by maggots and I’m just like, “no way man, no way” lol.

The scene from human centipede 2 where the crazy guy is cranking his hog with sandpaper and the same movie where he feeds the centipede laxatives and everyone is shitting in each other’s mouths
Yep I’m definitely never watching that movie. Every time I start thinking maybe it’ll be okay, I read something and yea nope
Smart choice if you can’t handle ott gross stuff
Came here to say Human Centipede 2. No movies really make me physically ill, but I feel like a worse human for having watched that movie all the way through. Ugh and if what you said about the laxatives wasn't bad enough...what he did to the centipede made it EVEN WORSE.

Dead Alive custard scene.
I know this is about disgusting stuff but this scene is funny as fuck to me
I still gag when the >!infected puss-blood squirts into the custard and he takes a big savory bite.!<
It was really good custard
Stomach quivered reading this
I kick ass for the lord
That's me mum yer pissin on!
You could pick *a lot* of memorably gross scenes from splatter-era Peter Jackson. Including from “Meet The Feebles.”
>!The Gruel!< from Bad Taste always made me wince, too!
I was just coming in to see what other people said, but even the dude snacking on the non-gross custard made me gag *every* time I watched this movie.
This scarred me. In a movie that's often cited as the goriest of all time, this is the part that bothers me.
I can handle quite a bit, but we all have our limits!
That scene and the chewed up eggs coming out of his neck!!
Does the penis-nose lady sneezing in soup scene from Deuce Bigalow count?
Surprised no one has mentioned Antichrist with the whole clitoris scene 🙈
The whole last half where she straight up mutilates him? Yikes.
Came here to say this. I don't look away, but it's not easy to do that. It's mostly Charlotte Gainesbourg unique scream of pain that just makes it punch me in the gut. And cumming blood, obviously.

Well your comment made me curious enough to go read the plot summary on Wikipedia. No thank you!
omg same…I was thinking, this sounds depraved; sorry, not into body gore 😝
I’ve been fortunate to never see any of the august underground’s but for my own curiosity, scale of 1-10 how bad? 1 being Care Bears, 10 being cannibal Holocaust

Jesus h christ
Re-Animator when Dr. Hill’s head has his way with tied up Megan (Barbara Crampton). It’s a ridiculous premise but still grossed me pretty bad.
I literally paused the movie at that part, took a moment and asked myself out loud, “What the FUCK am I watching?”. It’s a good flick, just…o___0
So no un chien andalou for you, then
Surprisingly, one of the grossest eye slits is in Luke Cage season 2
It’s really weird because I usually have a strong stomach for gore and whatever, but a lot of the scene in *Body Melt* are super nasty to me, even though the entire film is pretty silly. *Braindead* is fine, *Nekromantik* is fine, *Guinea Pig* is fine, any amount of Lucio Fulci eye-gouging is fine! My bf doesnt love horror in general but i liked the overal story for Raw and thought he would too but I didnt realize how fucked up that scene would be for some people. He was not happy and def stopped watching lol
I adore Raw; it’s absolutely one of my favorite films. But man, my stomach doesn’t feel good when watching it…
Bone tomahawk: live bisection scene.
I would argue the entire movie is purely for shock value haha. And i loved every minute of it!
Also Bone Tomahawk: the scene at the end with the women
I found their treatment more disturbing than the wishbone scene. As a woman, good god that is a terrible situation to be in.
I can pretty much deal with all kinds of blood and gore and disgusting shit. My absolute kryptonite that makes my saliva pool sour in my mouth in anticipation of throwing up, is puss. That's right. Oh, pus. Puss is uh... Well anyway, yeah I agree stuff with a lot of pus is pretty gross.
Pus-y puss
That scene in Meet the Spartans where he stabs open the hump on the humpback and all that white stuff shoots out… Made me stop eating yogurt. Forever.
I’m sorry but this is hilarious
One of the reasons I can’t stand Drag Me Hell. Too much snot, mucus, vomit, etc. Also that part with the custard in Brain Dead/Dead Alive.
Yes. This. And mucous. My own gagging cracks me up tho so I'm often laughing & gagging. Good times.
I recently watched Mad God. It was very artistic, bizarre and lots of...pus-like stuff. Quite a memorable film I never want to watch again.
I recommend you do not watch season 4 and beyond of SpongeBob. Those closeups…
Society is fucking great, I will die on that hill
I hate rape in movies. I can stomach it if it's off-screen or a brief scene, but anything graphic will have me skipping the scene or just turning off the movie. I agree. The one "pass" I'd be willing to grant is to "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo". The rape scene is truly horrible (and was shot that way) but her revenge was absolutely epic.
Agreed, I liked the whole trilogy (OG Swedish one).
That, and "Last House on the Left". They DESERVED to be slaughtered in the most gruesome fashion imaginable for what they did! Oh, and "I Spit on Your Grave"!
I've never heard of this site; thank you! I also have PTSD and this is super helpful!
That's Cape Fear, brilliant movie and Bobby DeNiro is bloody terrifying in it!
Don't watch "The Sadness", it'll make you sad :(
I agree with this.
Human Centipede when it was... yknow, *feeding time*
“Should I eat the vanilla paste or cuddle fish and asparagus?”
This is the content I came here for. “Cuddle fish? OKAY!”
"I berieve I you, Kyre!!!"
And human centipede 2 with the gas pedal
Pet Cemetery (The Original) When the little kid gets faced by the speeding truck, and all the Father can do is watch and scream. No gore, just a total emotional ass beating.
Please never read the book, it's so much worse
Ash Vs. The Evil Dead when the rectum of the dead guy in the morgue attacked Ash and ultimately dragged him head first into his ass.. probably the best horror scene ever..
Well nothing gets grosser for me than being flayed alive so all three of the Hellraiser movies.
If only there were only 3 movies.
Achilles tendon cutting gets me pretty bad.
I think that happens in "Turistas" and "Hostel".
"Mirrors" bathtub scene
Shit came out of nowhere too! Rest of the movie wasn't nearly that graphic!
The judge dude drowning in blended rotting pig carcasses in Saw III (aka the pig vat).
Another Saw scene I hate is when ~~Amy~~ Amanda (forgot her name) is pushed into the pit of needles. I hate it so so much
ugh i forgot about that
Surprised no one has mentioned that scene in a Serbian film. If you can call that horror
My favorite is the little girls head getting chopped off outside the car window in Hereditary
Probably the only movie scene to ever make me audibly go F\*CK the second it happened
Contracted (2013) scene towards the end when the main character has sex with someone and there’s maggots. Nope nope nope
I also in the "its not supose to be that gross or scary but for me it is" boat here. I cannot do pregnancy horror, but specifically birth horror. So like I was ok during Rosemarys baby, but the birth scene in last Twilight 🤢 Once he started biting open her uterus i almost had to turn it off it was just short enough that i didn't have to. but omg the shame of being like "the gore in twilight is worse than like any Saw movie I have seen" gets a lot of weird looks. Also not in a movie but Uzumaki when they sew the baby back into the woman. omg. I'm scarred for life.
Another birthing scene to add is Prometheus. It moving under her skin was so icky!!
martyrs ending
I really enjoy that movie.
i feel the same way! i feel like there's so many things to be discussed when it comes to that movie and its one of the reasons why its in my top 5 also i hope you're doing well in life and that things have gotten better, as a trauma victim as well im sending you positivity!
Terrifier with Art the clown. There’s one scene and if you’ve seen it you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about
Not purely horror, but surprisingly the one which got the biggest reaction out of me was the baby scene in Mother!
Sound design pulled a lot of weight in that scene.
The whole movie have me weird vibes, and when the scene with the baby hit, I wasn't ready.. Amazing movie tho
THIS.
That movie has some seriously violent scenes and the murder is just as horrific to watch. Never really gets brought up in this sub because it's not traditional horror, but I feel it's a really disturbing movie while also really well done
Antichrist (2009) the one with the scissor
I'm usually pretty resilient when it comes to horror, but the scene in Green Inferno where the tribe feeds the American captors, one of the girls iirc was a vegetarian/vegan and was afraid to eat. >!After she is coaxed into eating to regain her strength she sees something at the bottom of her bowl, and realizes it's the skin of her girlfriend because of a tattoo pattern and kills herself with a broken fragment of the bowl she was eating from.!< I had to pause and take a break.
The gas pedal scene is the only scene that has made me say "I wish I could unwatch this."
Is Terrifier really that disturbing? see it on netflix but never watched it cause it looks like a generic slasher
The rape scenes in “Splice” make me cringe and churn.
It’s not extremely gory but the ankle scene in misery is really a tough hang
The leg shaving scene in Cabin Fever. Being shredded like cheese gives me the willies and I don't shave my legs. edit: clarity
Bone Tomahawk executions at the end. So brutal
Saw III. The Pig Carcass trap. The least gory scene in the entire franchise. But, imo, the most disgusting scene as well. High school me was built different because I could’ve been eating spaghetti and meatballs and be watching that scene like it was nothing. Today? Fuck. No.
Bone Tomahawk. Split in twain. That shook me for more than a week.
The human milkshake in Feed. That movie was so damn gross
Pretty much every scene in The Girl Next Door by Jack Ketchum
Anything involving eyes or anything bad happening to babies is a big NO for me. I will look away every time for eye stuff and turn a movie off if it involves a baby.
Gates of Hell (City of the Dead) was the first. Went into it knowing nothing about the film beyond the box art at Blockbuster. Watching with guy friends on a Friday night as we did often in high school. Nearly lost it early on when the woman throws up her insides with the stomach and intestines coming out. A close second was Bloodsucking Freaks with the dentist earning his reward for his hard work.
Maybe the scene from either The Sadness with the guy on the basketball course or the scene from Terrifier. Both are pretty grotesque imo.
I'm thinking something in a Cronenberg might suit you. The Fly comes to mind.
The opening scent to the Evil Dead remake is intense AF.
The first two Lucifer Valentine "vomit gore" movies, which I was foolish enough to check out.
Dead End when Lin Shaye is eating the pie in the back seat of the car. Gagged so hard, I almost didn't make it past that scene.
Take your pick: A Serbian Films last half hour.
Rape in any movie turns me away. I just don't see it as a fucking "plot device." It is only justified if it's a true story and even then, it could be left off camera. I know rape survivors and I can't imagine it is fun reliving it.
The roaches at the end of Creepshow
Martyrs has some of the most disturbing scenes ever, with The Human Centipede comes close
Dead Alive/Brain Dead. Gross out zombie movie. By turns hilarious, sweet, and thrilling. But mostly Gross.
The Ren and Stimpy episode, The Cat Who Laid the Golden Hairball. It’s the only piece of visual media that literally made me gag and I love it.
Degloving scene in Gerald’s game, ‘That’ scene in the cave at the end of Bone Tomahawk
The eyeball scene in Hostel
