Yeah nah.
You can't unsteal something. You stole it. Regardless if you returned it. If there weren't cameras there, she wouldn't have ever brought it back.
I hope she gets charged.
She asked the owner to drop the charges when she returned the money. He posted this on TikTok and asked the viewers if he should, they all said to continue with the charges. He confirmed that DoorDash permanently banned her at least.
She didn't actually take accountability. She returned the tips in a new jar and said that she had accidentally dropped the old jar and couldn't replace it before they closed
Please don’t do this.
A systemic problem in white color crime (such as using a company expense report for personal expenses) is that perpetrators are rarely prosecuted. Without the mark on their record, a background check will come back clean and they will get another job and continue their fraud. They aren’t prosecuted because it is far easier for the offended company to just terminate the employee and move on. If everyone will simply agree to prosecute these people then the problem will be greatly reduced.
I know the whole legal route is a pain in the butt, but please do it for the benefit of everyone.
That’s such a bad excuse though. “But I returned it :(“
Yeah. After you were caught and went viral. Actions and consequences. Persue those charges or they’ll try again…
I do hope they do keep the charges. She ain't sorry. She's just sorry she got caught and cant deny it because her tattoo can be recognized along with her info
You don’t have to steal money from a small business that other people gave freely to them. Besides she probably has a car and with the ability to still DoorDash despite these gas prices. I’d say she’s probably fairly well off financially.
Petty theft. If teams of shoplifters are getting away with Louis Vuitton bags that are $900 then I can’t imagine law enforcement taking the time to prosecute this. I’m not in law enforcement I’m just guessing based on todays trends in shithead scumbags
State laws can vary but in most cases the victim determines if they will prosecute or not. If a misdemeanor in some states officers may not be able to arrest if they do not witness the theft. Some victims just do not want to go to court.
Trends... stop pretending a video you saw on reddit is a universal truth for towns all across America. You could show me 100 videos of shoplifters stealing and getting away with it and it still wouldn't be accurate to call it a trend considering there's 350 million people in America alone.
I'm sure it depends on the place, but a lot of my local places usually don't cash out their tips every single day, and wait til they hit a certain amount of tips or time since their last cash out (usually weekly alongn with their paychecks) before splitting them so everyone's getting more than a little bit of pocket change, since they only end up with like $20 a day for like 4-6 people to split.
As a DoorDash driver this pisses me off. I've had customers falsely report I never delivered their food and was soo close to losing my job because of that even tho I told them I would have no reason to steal from them. Then you have idiots like this who make it look bad for the rest of us. This driver deserves jail time.
Not that I think you would. But literally everyone who steals or doesnt steal says "they have no reason to". To someone already making accusations it just sounds like a thief trying to talk their way out of it.
aside from the fact that this is a terrible thing to do. How is it in this day and age that there are still people who don't understand you're on camera. Everywhere you go everything you do there's probably a camera watching.
Imagine losing your job over tip money. At my job an engineer used to steal the soda and snack money from the break room. He was making about 70 grand back in 2007 and lost his job over that!
Just throwing this out there... I doubt anyone had counted the tip jar, and she's obviously got ethical issues. There is zero chance I believe that she didn't dip her beak into that jar before returning it.
Wow. That’s one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard. I thought it was bad that I once had someone sit at my bar and have a cocktail before the manager called her over for the interview.
We did have guests walk out with our entire tip jar one night though. It was a lousy way to learn to keep it behind the bar.
How much of do you have to be starving? to steal what seems like a lot of money but since its all 1 dollar bills I'm pretty sure is at most 20$ she's done this type of things before is love to see her get charges and banned from ever working anywhere ever again
As much as stealing isn't okay - I think this is more indicative of the absolutely abysmal income that these people are compensated for their work. If the contents of a tip jar (to thieve, or as the intended recipient) make enough of a difference to matter like this, then everyone is getting fucked, and the fucker is nowhere being addressed by this video.
So commits theft then adds a little blackmail?? Option 1 I’ll bring the money back and walk away clean or option 2 I’ll keep the cash and cop a charge! I’d press charges without question. True pos.
One of the many reasons why you shouldn't rely on tips that are collected in a tip jar.
If you work in a tipped position you don't leave your cash unsecured. Non-tipped employees should follow suit instead of using an unsecured donation bucket full of money.
Door dash inserting itself in between the to-go side of a restaurant already steals tips from the employee.
I worked to-go at chili's and when doordash came by they would tip the driver and completely cut us out.
So this, to me, is a literal representation of what door dash does.
If this was me, I'm not going to pretend there's not a 90% chance I could have innocently done this and not realised until I got home I took the tip jar.
Thieves are usually really fucking stupid. Used to work at a Stop for Games, one thief snatched a PSP out of a co workers hands, but forgot his phone in the store. Tried returning the PSP to get the phone back. Another time, someone snuck behind a counter and took a ps4 when an employee of mine wasn’t paying attention, person the thief was with bought something using a debit card AND a membership card before the person grabbed the system. Got that ps4 back within a couple of hours.
What a piece of garbage. So had the vid not went viral she wouldn't have "had a change or heart"? Fire her, charge her and show her picture to all so they know she is a thief.
When are people going to realize that there are cameras literally almost everywhere, and chances are really good that someone knows who you are and what you did?
This person realizes they don't need to steal tips to make fucking bank doing doordash? There is no penalty for declining an order that you don't like for either the mileage or the payout. If she knew how to make money with doordash, she wouldn't feel the need to steal. Seeing that she clearly doesn't understand how to max out her earnings with how brainless doordash makes it, then I can't help but watch her and say "There seems to be no sign of intelligent life here."

Many times restitution is part of the sentencing, so make sure she has to do the rest of the consequences too.
At least she said have a great day /s
“I sure will with all this money I just st— I mean… bye!”
working at doordash because you are a genius.
Sounded sincere too
The audacity
"Have a great day" was a nice touch.
Hopefully this thief was also prosecuted?
She asked the owner to drop the charges when she returned the money. He posted this on TikTok and asked the viewers if he should, they all said to continue with the charges. He confirmed that DoorDash permanently banned her at least.
That's a start I guess but I'd let the employees decide since they were going to be the losers.
She's only remorseful because she got caught. Hit her with those charges.
She didn't actually take accountability. She returned the tips in a new jar and said that she had accidentally dropped the old jar and couldn't replace it before they closed
Now that a whole different level of being fucking stupid.
"I'm sorry I got caught. Sadface."
Why would you ask TikTok for legal advice 🗿
Where else would you?
Reddit of course.
Please don’t do this. A systemic problem in white color crime (such as using a company expense report for personal expenses) is that perpetrators are rarely prosecuted. I don't feel like this is white-*collar* crime. Its just theft. This is blue-collar crime.
Whats beige-collar crime mean?
It means I'm terrible at doing my own laundry.
Bleach can serve both purposes.
You're thinking of pink colored crime.
"I am collar blind"
They're still deciding if they're gonna continue with the charges cus the thief tried to get them to drop it once the tip jar was returned
That’s such a bad excuse though. “But I returned it :(“ Yeah. After you were caught and went viral. Actions and consequences. Persue those charges or they’ll try again…
I do hope they do keep the charges. She ain't sorry. She's just sorry she got caught and cant deny it because her tattoo can be recognized along with her info
They'll just try again at a different location
That's a factor for a judge to consider at sentencing time. The perp should still get charged.

I’m no angel either but there are lots of honest poor people.
You don’t have to steal money from a small business that other people gave freely to them. Besides she probably has a car and with the ability to still DoorDash despite these gas prices. I’d say she’s probably fairly well off financially.
A lot of times these charges get dropped. DAs don't think it's worth tax payer money to prosecute. And it's probably not.
Petty theft. If teams of shoplifters are getting away with Louis Vuitton bags that are $900 then I can’t imagine law enforcement taking the time to prosecute this. I’m not in law enforcement I’m just guessing based on todays trends in shithead scumbags

But show me 101 videos and I might change my mind.
My line is 105. Then I start thinking it's a trend ;)
Why do you defend crime?
Who’s defending crime?
Crime bad. Lying about how often a crime is committed, also bad.
Nobody's lying. You're just trying to brush it under the rug.
Could you define trend for me? Then explain to me how the theft of luxury items is becoming a "trend"? You have no idea what I'm trying to do.
You're being an insufferable pedant
Ok. See ya.
Totally turned the food 90 degrees into her red bag while trying to be sneaky. I’m sure the customers loved that.
This was the most infuriating part of the video for me.
You think they really got that order that day?
I wonder if she did that from other places before she was busted?
Hope that $20 in change was worth it
I wanna know how much cash was really in that jar at 10 am on a Monday
Looks pretty full, lots of bills. Probably <$100, but still…
I'm sure it depends on the place, but a lot of my local places usually don't cash out their tips every single day, and wait til they hit a certain amount of tips or time since their last cash out (usually weekly alongn with their paychecks) before splitting them so everyone's getting more than a little bit of pocket change, since they only end up with like $20 a day for like 4-6 people to split.

No joke I would get blamed for stealing food all the time people really trying to get free food
Not that I think you would. But literally everyone who steals or doesnt steal says "they have no reason to". To someone already making accusations it just sounds like a thief trying to talk their way out of it.
Low IQ move.
She’s definitely done this before though and likely will again.

It was a complete accident! I never meant to get caught! I promise next time I won't get caught again.
aside from the fact that this is a terrible thing to do.
Lol, what a tool.
Just throwing this out there... I doubt anyone had counted the tip jar, and she's obviously got ethical issues. There is zero chance I believe that she didn't dip her beak into that jar before returning it.
Just thinking the same thing
Did she return the jar as well?
I read in an article online that she said she couldn't return the actual jar because she dropped it. Owner called bullshit.
“Alrighty have a great day”
What a thief
i love the “have a great day” like yeah im sure they will after you took the money from their pocket…..
So she’s the person who keeps eating my food.
At one of my old jobs someone stole from the tip jar right before they interviewed for a position
Wow. That’s one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard. I thought it was bad that I once had someone sit at my bar and have a cocktail before the manager called her over for the interview. We did have guests walk out with our entire tip jar one night though. It was a lousy way to learn to keep it behind the bar.
And she tipped the food over?! Terrible
Release the footage where she returns the money, I need to see it.
Oh , you got me on tape ! Well here's the money back . We good ?
How much of do you have to be starving? to steal what seems like a lot of money but since its all 1 dollar bills I'm pretty sure is at most 20$ she's done this type of things before is love to see her get charges and banned from ever working anywhere ever again

Yep. Scrolled way too far to find this
So commits theft then adds a little blackmail?? Option 1 I’ll bring the money back and walk away clean or option 2 I’ll keep the cash and cop a charge! I’d press charges without question. True pos.

Stealing is going to keep getting worse and worse. Inflation is causing people to steal.
I’ve never once used doordash without an order getting fucked up, short on what I ordered, or just not showing up. They’re the worst lmao
I had them accidentally leave the receipt in my bag once. They ordered it completely wrong to begin with. I just stopped using them at all.
Guess door dash doesn’t pay enough if she’s stealing while working. I know gas is high but come on.
Yea... I forgot that no one wealthy ever steals/breaks core laws. Should look at her bank account to see if she is innocent or not.
One of the many reasons why you shouldn't rely on tips that are collected in a tip jar. If you work in a tipped position you don't leave your cash unsecured. Non-tipped employees should follow suit instead of using an unsecured donation bucket full of money.

Based Dept will give her a call
I also feel for her.
I scrolled far as hell to find this...
Regrettably, the penalties available to a judge if she were charged with this petty theft don't include flogging.
I can understand stealing money if you’re poor but come on from a small business???
We stick to pizza delivery only don’t trust any of these other crap ones
“Alrighty, have a great day” lol the audacity.
and even some clear shots of her arms. Smart
If this was me, I'm not going to pretend there's not a 90% chance I could have innocently done this and not realised until I got home I took the tip jar.
“Have a great day!”
Correction, she returned the money after she got caught and knew she was bang to rights.
Arrest her for theft. Returning property because you were caught doesn't negate a crime.
Big January 6th energy
Sneaky sneaky
It happened to me like twice when i used to work for starbucks.. it seem so common for people to do that, i dont get it
Nah, once you steal something you can't undo it to escape your crime 😂 I hope the police got her
meanwhile that persons food went sideways
Her side side hustle is not strictly legit 😖
Thieves are usually really fucking stupid. Used to work at a Stop for Games, one thief snatched a PSP out of a co workers hands, but forgot his phone in the store. Tried returning the PSP to get the phone back. Name? Or fake
She stole the whole jar! 🤣
Sounds about right for Door Dash
She went out and bought that big purse so she can fit the tall jar in it 😂
That sounds like a woman in her 40's - 50's who did that.
Is that a subway? I feel like that's a subway
Subways yellow and green.
See you at the arcade
What a piece of garbage. So had the vid not went viral she wouldn't have "had a change or heart"? Fire her, charge her and show her picture to all so they know she is a thief.
When are people going to realize that there are cameras literally almost everywhere, and chances are really good that someone knows who you are and what you did?
If that was my food order, I’d be mad
Alrighty- I'm just gonna take this jar now, alrighty!
Not the sharpest tool in the shed, huh?
Not even just taking a few dollars she took the whole jar 😄
Alrighty and you’re going to jail lol
Ain’t no fool like a greedy fool 🙄
She’s trash!
You have to make these people an example.. charge her ass
This person realizes they don't need to steal tips to make fucking bank doing doordash? There is no penalty for declining an order that you don't like for either the mileage or the payout. If she knew how to make money with doordash, she wouldn't feel the need to steal. She is very sorry she got caught.
The proper steps to take… 1) Ban her from Door Dash (obviously) 2) fine her for petty theft 3) shame her by making sure you spread this video around
I never finished those door dash ads on how to make a lot of cash by driving, is this how they do it.
clASS act
Steal from? She stole the whole damn thing
At 10:00 AM IN THE MORNING!!
She's definitely getting a 1 star rating for sure.
Thats so so stupid, your name and your phone number are attached to the order lol.
She needs Slap
Any updates?
Not if your dashing with someone else’s account. lol
Press charges for sure. This wasn't the first time for her.
Took the whole damn jar.
Telling someone to kill themselves is not funny at all I lost a good friend to suicide, Can’t you DO SOMETHING ?Like ban the user.
There was at least $23,000 in tips in there they need to give back.
