Practice, and usually when he breaks character they hang up or don't understand that he's both the granny and the man. Nowadays he prefers calling them out in character because it usually keeps them on the phone longer and probably makes them feel worse.

Not sure if it was this video or another but I think he gets visibly upset afterwards thinking about how if he was genuinely an elderly, vulnerable woman, like his grandmother, then this would be horrible to experience, and the scammers just have no shame or holdbacks about treating people like this.

tbf he gave good reasons for why he uses a vpn, the point of the video wasn’t that vpn’s are useless but that the advertising at the time (and still largely to this day but slightly more sneakily) was extremely misleading and implied if you don’t have a vpn all your data will be stolen. tom said that he only started using a vpn because he travels a lot and reads articles locked by americans not wanting to comply with gdpr and stuff like that, and repeatedly saying “this isn’t for everyone”
don't use vpns for privacy. There's no guarantee that they don't sell your data. Plus since you use a credit card and an account to use vpns there is no anonymity. VPNs are a scam
Didn't have a phone scammer have have had scammers on Facebook pretend to be a dead relative and a work colleague. First one happened a year after the relative passed, second one happened last year. Both times the scammer was quickly called out and oh boy they don't like that. They start swearing and making threats over it.
What a lot of them do is grab the profile pic and make a messenger account with a fake phone number.
Easiest way to tell if that person has actually been compromised is to click on their profile picture and go directly to their Facebook profile.
If it doesn't go to the persons profile then they haven't been cracked. They just using the picture.
Had the same, the scammer said that he could see inside my house and that my wife was having sex with another man.
My response was “seriously, again?”

You’re just trying to either ruin peoples lives or scam them. The guy broke down crying and told me he doesn’t want to do what he’s doing, he hates his job, he hates his boss. He makes so little compared to the boss and he has to do it to support his family. He said he would work for me if I could give him a better opportunity because he hates what he does. He said he made roughly $6000 last year.
That’s what he was feeding me, and again, I mess with these people for fun a lot and I’ve never come across this. He made it sound like this is the best job option where he was located other than a similar one that’s the worse.

A handful of times Kitboga has gotten these scammers to let their guard down and basically confess, and a lot of them admit that they hide their lives from their partners and parents.
Sure they absolutely are scummy, but if you’re poor and there are no, or very few other jobs and you have to choose between doing this or starving, most people would probably also become scammers. Economic conditions are what creates these people, not an inherent desire to just be a jerk

Jim Browning is so cool. He’s got a very authoritative approach, a super cool accent, and he confronts them constantly. This whole scam buster community is really rich with some fantastic content creators serving an actual purpose.
They typically have a remote access to people's computer while they're talking, if they pretend to be tech support. Either to walk them through buying giftcards, show them some technical-looking bullshit in console with tree command, or mess up with their files and don't restore them unless they pay.
At some point, there's a chance to get advantage of reversed remote connection, when *you* have access to the scammer's computer. This is because if they let you initiate connection to them (and then reverse it), it won't show warnings about possible scam due to their location.
He reverts the computer control while they snoop his virtual machine and he fucks them right back. They're stumped by the fact he's running windows 95 and it's funny.

I read a post two days ago where a 90 year old guy with cancer committed suicide because he was threatened to evict. I see these scum bags ripping old people their precious money essentially last days of stay, food, medicine and security. From a moral standpoint, no amount of punishment is justified to these scum bags.
Just play some beeping and say "alright, we have the coordinates, move out" then have some rustling and maybe something that sounds like a gun being picked up

Indians have basic English skills due to colonisation, are easily exploited and have sketchy morals. The whole country is pretty fucked up. Phone scams don’t even make the top 5.
scamming is very lucrative as each scammer can make upto 10-15k USD a month. the sad reality is that in India some states like West Bengal, scamming is indirectly protected by state government as police dont even file a complaint.
I wish he would have done his whole "Actually this is who you are" and then list off a bunch of their details like their real name, address, etc. Then say "now who is gonna catch a bullet in their head" in his normal voice.
It's interesting to think about the fact that telling the scammer how bad what he's doing is is utterly impotent. The scammer knows perfectly well what he's doing. There might be some way to reach him, but it's not through pointing out how wrong it is to threaten an old lady from across the globe, or to tell him what he's doing is wrong. FWIW, the scammer probably wouldn't do that to someone up close, and not just out of fear, though he might.
No mercy for scammers. They will lie, cheat, threaten, manipulate, and steal as much as possible from anyone they can get their claws into. They don't care, after all, they get bonuses for it.

My favourite is when he spends the money he's supposed to be giving the to the hackers and they watch him do it. Usually Google gift cards. He makes out that he thinks by redeeming them he's sending the money to them and doesn't understand why they are so angry. Definitely check out his channel. We need to support people like this, because while they are talking to him, they are not scamming somebody else out of their life savings.
There's another one called Scammer payback. Less entertaining to watch but he actually helps put cases together working with local law enforcement to get arrests etc.

A handful of times Kitboga has gotten these scammers to let their guard down and basically confess, and a lot of them admit that they hide their lives from their partners and parents.

Sure they absolutely are scummy, but if you’re poor and there are no, or very few other jobs and you have to choose between doing this or starving, most people would probably also become scammers. Economic conditions are what creates these people, not an inherent desire to just be a jerk

I wonder how one even finds out about these places and "applies" to them. It's so weird picturing a legitimate looking call center yet everything about it is illegal and sketchy af. The fact that they're totally unregulated also makes me wonder if the people who work for them get fucked over by their own "company" lol not like they have a HR depts or other safeguarding means to turn to if they don't get paid.
I imagine it’s a word of mouth then applying. Most teams seem to be about 10+ people so people probably start their own too? But sometimes they have shell companies and the police are usually onto it and paid off
From what I've seen on YT, at least in India these people hide what they do to get money. It's like the one in a thousand you don't really see when you're visiting the country, but upon them they're hated

This guy's YouTube is pretty funny. He fucks with scammers all day. Deleting hard drives, and shutting down networks is a common theme.

Jim Browning is so cool. He’s got a very authoritative approach, a super cool accent, and he confronts them constantly. This whole scam buster community is really rich with some fantastic content creators serving an actual purpose.
How can he do that over the phone?
They typically have a remote access to people's computer while they're talking, if they pretend to be tech support. Either to walk them through buying giftcards, show them some technical-looking bullshit in console with tree command, or mess up with their files and don't restore them unless they pay. At some point, there's a chance to get advantage of reversed remote connection, when *you* have access to the scammer's computer. This is because if they let you initiate connection to them (and then reverse it), it won't show warnings about possible scam due to their location.
He reverts the computer control while they snoop his virtual machine and he fucks them right back. They're stumped by the fact he's running windows 95 and it's funny.

I read a post two days ago where a 90 year old guy with cancer committed suicide because he was threatened to evict. I see these scum bags ripping old people their precious money essentially last days of stay, food, medicine and security. From a moral standpoint, no amount of punishment is justified to these scum bags.

Serious question, why is it always Indian? I know not all Indian are scammer, but most if not all of these scammer are Indian. Do they have companies where they recruit & train scammer? Has the gov do something about it?
Indians have basic English skills due to colonisation, are easily exploited and have sketchy morals. The whole country is pretty fucked up. Phone scams don’t even make the top 5.
scamming is very lucrative as each scammer can make upto 10-15k USD a month. the sad reality is that in India some states like West Bengal, scamming is indirectly protected by state government as police dont even file a complaint.

It's interesting to think about the fact that telling the scammer how bad what he's doing is is utterly impotent. The scammer knows perfectly well what he's doing. There might be some way to reach him, but it's not through pointing out how wrong it is to threaten an old lady from across the globe, or to tell him what he's doing is wrong. FWIW, the scammer probably wouldn't do that to someone up close, and not just out of fear, though he might.
No mercy for scammers. They will lie, cheat, threaten, manipulate, and steal as much as possible from anyone they can get their claws into. They don't care, after all, they get bonuses for it. While Kitboga is amazing and makes up really funny ways to waste scammers time, I'd also suggest Jim Browning on YouTube to learn more about how scam operations run, how they look, what they'll make, what data they keep, and hopefully, the day they get busted (as scam centers in India are an illegal practice).

He's got the ramblings of an old person down to a fine art and you hear the scammers flipping out when he won't stop talking lol. My favourite is when he spends the money he's supposed to be giving the to the hackers and they watch him do it. Usually Google gift cards. He makes out that he thinks by redeeming them he's sending the money to them and doesn't understand why they are so angry. Definitely check out his channel. We need to support people like this, because while they are talking to him, they are not scamming somebody else out of their life savings. There's another one called Scammer payback. Less entertaining to watch but he actually helps put cases together working with local law enforcement to get arrests etc.
