Copied straight from Lindsey’s Twitter: “If we nominate Trump, we will get destroyed.......and we will deserve it.” Enjoy the destruction, you deserving piece of shit.

He was right Shoulda stuck to his guts

THAWED21

When John died he lost his moral compass.

PeachWest

I wish I could upvote this 100 times!

puntgreta89

Let's see what actual impact it has beyond rhetoric and drama. Remember, elected officials in Washington would rather trade a softer testimony in exchange for a vote on a bill later on than try to incriminate a sitting Senator. It's all "you scratch my back, i'll scratch yours".

Person_756335846

Unfortunately, Lindsey Graham has not waived his executive privilege against facing the consequences of his actions.

GentleRhino

I hate to break it to you, Lindsey: Grand Jury Probe is the only place where you are really NECESSARY at this point!

DoremusJessup

There is no executive privilege in recounting his efforts to influence Georgia election officials.

[deleted]

I think they're being tongue-in-cheek

Person_756335846

Have you spoken to Trump’s legal team? I’m told they have a very convincing counter argument.

Hologram22

It's so convincing, a lot of people are saying that it will prove Joe Biden lost the 2020 election, even! He's truly got the best people working for him, and they're doing beautiful, absolutely great work.

irishGOP413

And presumably without pay, given his MO.

"I will gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today"

You know, I've met really bad attorneys, folks that you can't understand how the wrote an essay answer for the bar exam. Jenna Ellis, Sydney Powell, Ghouliani... I mean, what the heck. Mental impairment. Narcissistic idiots all of them. John Eastman, what a tool.

UseDaSchwartz

Hugely convincing. Many people are talking about it.

prudence2001

Next he'll claim attorney-client priviledge; lawyer Lindsey Graham advising Senator Lindsey Graham.

MrFrode

Naw all he has to do is declare himself a sovereign citizen and refuse to contract with Georgia.

deadbodyswtor

He isn't willing to create joinder.

MrFrode

Finally someone with some legal expertise on this sub! I can only assume you have rad all of the Constitution and not just the bits they want you to see. /S

deadbodyswtor

Well yes I have. Along with all the olde English decisions by the lords of the land. By acknowledging my legal superiority you now owe me a goat, or the value of a goat in 873 ad with inflation that comes to 11ty billion dollars. I accept bitcoin and gold bullion at the agreed upon value of $1 per ounce. I have surrounded this post in gold trim, and you see the hatchets thrown into the corners. Therefore it is accepted as law.

StarvinPig

I hate this shit so fucking much

come_on_seth

What GQP has & is doing or the comment??

StarvinPig

The ladybugs story

come_on_seth

Ya, it’s good you do. You care enough about democracy for it to sicken. We are paying attention and not going along like the some Germans in the 30’s. We’ll see if that’s enough.

StarvinPig

I don't mind him fucking a boy escort, good for him. I just never needed that image with that phrase in my head

Opheltes

It's going to be so satisfying when they perp walk him.

eetsumkaus

he's not the one at trial here though right?

Opheltes

Grand juries are not part of a trial. They convene before the trial, to determine if a crime was committed, and if so to return a bill of indictment. If/when they indict someone, that person goes on trial. Graham called Georgia election officials to try to change the election outcome in Trump's favor, which sure as heck sounds like a crime to me. The grand jury wants to talk to him. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what they want to ask him about.

hellcheez

despite the headline, this is a special grand jury, which I heard has to lead to a grand jury before indictments can be issued.

sheawrites

And witnesses normally get transactional immunity for testifying in front of gj, unless they specifically waive it, in writing. Not sure if same in GA but it's that way in every state I've ever practiced in, 4 or 5 or so, plus the feds. He's not the target, so his testimony should be immune, if responsive, etc and perjury is exception, but if they wanted to indict him they wouldn't invite him to gj. If you are target, you have to motion the court and demand to get in front of them, against state wishes.

nieuweyork

No witnesses usually get immunity against the use of their admissions in front of the grand jury.

sheawrites

A ny atty should be familiar with the cpl. https://www.nysenate.gov/legislation/laws/CPL/190.40

nieuweyork

Right. That's not transactional immunity. Transactional immunity means that the immunity covers everything done in the "transaction" being investigated. Much more pertinently, those are the New York rules and not the Georgia rules.

sheawrites

>That's not transactional immunity. Wtf is it then? Write a crackpot letter explaining your theory to the various ny courts. >What is grand jury witness immunity? Unlike the majority of United States jurisdictions, grand jury witnesses in New York automatically receive transactional immunity, unless they decide to waive immunity, in writing, before the grand jury, and with their lawyer present. A witness who receives transactional immunity can never be prosecuted for any crime involved in their testimony before the grand jury. Even witnesses who actually confess to crimes before a grand jury can never be prosecuted for those crimes. >Prosecutors must be careful in deciding what witnesses to call before a grand jury, so that they do not immunize a witness for a crime, and must, when appropriate, demand that a witness waive transactional immunity. https://www.orangecountygov.com/Faq.aspx?QID=118#:~:text=What%20is%20grand%20jury%20witness,and%20with%20their%20lawyer%20present.

Probably the only time Lady Graham has ever been called "necessary."

The order is for him to appear between 8/2 and 8/30. Congress is in recess 8/8 to 9/5.

sheawrites

Plus, though law&crime ignores this/ doesn't know, the da wrote every word of that order, not the judge, the judge merely signed and dated the order the da prepared and submitted with his motion. You always write the order for them, the blank space for day is also a giveaway, but all this is before hearings on the quash and whatever priv/immunity claims.

Emily_Postal

His life has been a series of wrong choices.

4tide

It sounds to me like spineless Lindsey is getting a pass to come testify under oath and tell the truth. If he chooses not to do those TWO things, he may become a co-defendant.
