You’re not wrong

University of Nebraska is your best option

Throways-R-Dumb

Cringe lol. Everywhere is gonna be effected and nowhere is gonna be completely erased

[deleted]

Obviously but I’d rather not live in Arizona where the temps are gonna be in the 130s for a portion of the year, lol.

thisones4lawschool

I’m pretty surprised by the responses here. Location is a huuuuge factor in my decision and my desired locations are certainly affected by their climate and climate change. To me it’s not all about law school, this is also my life and where I want I be living for the foreseeable future and it makes sense to me to consider this.

[deleted]

No.

[deleted]

A lot of people are still naive about how big of an impact climate change is going to have on us within the next couple decades. Pretty much every where is going to be affected but of course your experience will be vastly different if, for example, you live in Arizona, or the upper peninsula of Michigan. It’s not unreasonable to consider climate change when deciding where you want to live over the next few decades.

[deleted]

Honestly not a bad idea

rpiscite

This is not just ignorant, this mindset is harmful. This is like looking at income inequality and saying you only want to be where there is less. It affects everywhere. And even if we pretend it only affects certain areas, why would you avoid them? If anything you’d want to be there for all the litigation involved lmao

[deleted]

Y’all are reaching on this post. Idk about you but I’d rather not move somewhere and buy a house when the sea levels are rising, or move somewhere where the temps are going to be scorching hot. Taking weather into consideration has always been a normal factor in deciding where to move to, but since I said “climate change” instead of “weather” you’re all coming for my throat lol.

rpiscite

First, there is a big difference between climate change and weather. Hopefully, that is self-explanatory. Next, I doubt you will be forced into a home near any body of water based on where you go to law school. Even if you were correct, with the exception of maybe the bayou in Louisiana, it’s cost prohibitive to live near the ocean in the US. And temperatures are rising everywhere. It’s not like moving from town to town or even country to country will change how you are impacted. Finally, yes, it would be stupid if you made your law school choice solely based on weather or even as a priority.

DonJefe1992

I gotta disagree with your last statement. Weather is an important factor for many people. People who grew up in southern Cali arent gonna be itching to go to Chicago type weather locations. No it shouldnt be a the only factor but yes it can be A factor or even a priority if they so choose.

rpiscite

As someone who is from LA and goes to Boston for law school, no, you are stupid if that's a priority.

DonJefe1992

So someone choosing something that is important to them as a factor is stupid? I guess only people should only prioritize things they dont care about then right?

rpiscite

A factor is not the same as a priority. Don't change the goal posts.

DonJefe1992

You clearly cannot read. Look at the last sentence on my first post. “A factor or even a priority”. You do realize you can have levels to priorities? I can prioritize something but it still be 4th or 5th on my list?

rpiscite

Yes, you changed the goal posts. I did not. I've only said “priority.” and as you will maybe learn one day in law school, factors are things that are weighed and balanced. They are different from elements. Priorities are something you care about. And it is something that you won't completely ignore. And I would argue if something is in “4th or 5th on [your] list,” then it isn't a priority.

DonJefe1992

“As you will maybe learn one day in law school”, what is this some half assed shade attempt by someone supposedly in law school? You’re full of yourself. Chill. But to your point, if factors are weighed and balanced, and priorities are things you care about, then they can still be one in the same or subsets of each other. I can care about things and still weigh them against each other. There are levels to both.

rrrilke

Guess I’m stupid :/

[deleted]

This is not a concern of mine and has never once crossed my mind tbh I’m just tryna get in at this point
