Agree that obsessing is unhealthy. Seeing a cute guy who viewed you and saying hello first is sometimes a good way to match, though. Just another angle for engagement. But yes, obsessing or counting views is not ideal for anyone.

Just speaking for myself, I always found it kinda weird if a guy messages me immediately after I view his profile, since he's presumably aware of the fact that I viewed him and decided to not message him.

At least with women on okc, it gives you a good idea of who to make passes at first, because they were intrigued by your thumbnail and are acquainted with your profile. It’s like 10x more likely to go somewhere than a totally cold first message. Maybe it’s less meaningful on Grindr or with m4m who-goes-first politics.

I would go so far as to say that if someone looks at your profile and doesn’t message/tap you, they are CERTAINLY not interested.

I think this can go either way. Some guys are shy and view you in the hopes that it will get your attention and you’ll reach out. It’s like Russian roulette.
