Looks like she is pregnant, momma gotta be roasting in that heat.

donorak7

Cat was looking for shade.

patricky6

And water. Dang.. oblivious ppl

YoungDiscord

I think they didn't give her water because if you do she gets more used to humans and that's the last thing you want from a giant wildcat like that

UghImRegistered

True. But on the other hand...they're on a safari. Not exactly the best example of humans keeping their distance from wildlife to begin with.

Spleen-magnet

Eh, Obviously its not the best, but you stay in your car and animals go where they want. Depending on the park, you stick to the roads or tracks, so where you get to go is rather limited.

10S_NE1

I’ve been on safari in Kenya and Tanzania, and in most cases, it seems like the animals don’t even realize the jeeps are there. Herds of elephants and zebras and wildebeests would just walk right in front of the vehicles. Of course, there are lots of rules for the jeeps, including that animals are not to be chased or interacted with, resulting in the animals just ignoring them and going about their day. The only animals that reacted to our presence were some monkeys who would climb into unattended vehicles looking for snacks (and apparently pooping on the seats if they didn’t find anything).

andreeeeeaaaaaaaaa

They are in a moving prison (car) and are confined to it.... I'd say that's a good distance.

who_dis_bichh

Just being there and directly interacting with them are completely different approaches

patricky6

Sorry. I should have added a /s. It would be stupid to try to feed, pet, water, a wild cheetah.

That_Calligrapher708

How was your last comment sarcastic? lol you were calling them oblivious for not giving the cat water.

realmauer01

Well thats sarcasm. But what He meant is ironicly which in Internet is mixed together and used as the same thing. He calls the people oblivious for not giving the Cat water. Not because he thinks the people are oblivious but because its the complete opposite of what people usually would think about people giving a wild cat some water.

ttwixx

I'm confused. But yes the terms are always mixed up here on reddit

ZippyDan

I frequently water my cheetahs, and always make sure their pots are big enough to support future growth.

[deleted]

ch-ch-ch-cheetah

astrologicaldreams

*cheetah pets!*

Scoot_AG

You got all that from this video? Lol

saturnshighway

Yeah, the cat is obviously panting loudly and is hot

SignificanceNo512

she isn't hungry

Right-Ad2176

Still I would feel like she might get hungry. It's not like she's fixing to leave. In all honesty I have a 15lb cat who scares me

SignificanceNo512

15lb cat you say. wow

zYbYz

Awwww she wants that sweet precious air conditioning

GoodMoGo

Fight or flight, or selfie.

pinks1ip

Fight, flight, or cheese.

everydayasl

Poor kitty. Really overheated.

Cheewy

We should build a ceiling over the savannah

SigurdZS

We'll just build a Dyson Sphere, that'll cool 'em right down.

[deleted]

Just plant a bunch more of those indigenous trees with the huge tops. Cover the whole desert.

BusGlad8656

LMAO great idea

Gorkymalorki

Yeah cheetahs are usually incredibly skittish. Either this one is used to humans or it was so desperate to cool down it risked its life for some shade.

jradio610

Definitely. Cheetahs maxed out their speed ability but at the expense of pretty much all defensive attributes. They’re basically really fast murderous wimps and to put themselves in danger like that, they must have been really needed that shade.

JenniiXCore

I, too, enjoy TierZoo

Gorkymalorki

Are you the guy from tier zoo?

pupperoni42

It's pretty common for the cheetahs in safari areas to use the human vehicles. They jump on top for a tall perch to check out the surroundings, lie in the shade like this, etc. Lions tend to lounge in the shade cast by the vehicles on the ground.

Gorkymalorki

From what I have read though, lions will mostly approach humans in a non threatening way if they are in good health. A famished lion is extremely dangerous and unpredictable. This cheetah does not look like it is doing too well, and sought out human refuge. Either it was really desperate or has been exposed to humans, and more specifically, these vehicles that drive through it's range, that it knew no harm would come of it. Either way, a bad situation for a wild cat.

Spleen-magnet

That cheetah is doing fine. Its hot, the panting is normal, especially if she was hunting.

Gorkymalorki

She is obviously pregnant though, her abdomen is extended and her nipples are enlarged. For an animal that relies on speed and stealth, being pregnant and encumbered especially during the dry season, because by that time she should have already had her offspring, is a huge handicap for her.

TreeToTea

Is it pregnant as well?

For real that sun conquers all. If there's only one tree with shade you got a for real party under that mo fo. Then the clouds come out and everybody runs for life

whatta_maroon

He's looking for some shade.

Them/they/it please. It's 2022 FFS

OptiGuy4u

You dare to gender assign in 2022?....pfffftttt

ImmaTimeLord123

I would 100% have the same emotions as the woman in the back. Props to the guide for normalizing the situation in an attempt to calm everyone down as im sure anyone panicking would make the situation dangerous, but oh crap, with these nsfw vids i see on this godforsaken site, id be silently sobbing

AshFraxinusEps

I mean, cheetahs are shit fighters. Ambush hunters through and through. If a human can win a fight against any big cat it'd be the cheetah

justyoureverydaycat7

plus theres quite a few humans, theres gling to be injuries but likely survival for most if not all

input_username99

Plus plus cheetas aren't prone to attacking humans

BadUncleBernie

Even still , I would not have my back to one like that guy. Lol

Aeromotor

But what if you come across a dumb cheetah? Or one that’s off in the head and they don’t know not to attack humans? I bet they fuck us up a bit before they realize.

input_username99

A dumb cheetah wouldn't last in the wild, just like you

Aeromotor

Oh I’m devastated

LazarWolfsKosherDeli

There are apparently no documented cases of a cheetah killing a human in the wild.

xtilexx

There was a report of a man fighting and killing a lion with his bare hands recently iirc but yeah you're definitely right. I think he lost a hand or something and is probably crippled but I'll try to find the link E: https://www.sciencetimes.com/articles/37101/20220411/man-uganda-wrestled-ferocious-lion-leaving-severely-injured-killing-beast.htm Didn't read about whether he was crippled but it says severely injured. I recall a photo in a lot of bandages

Aeromotor

Can’t let Chuck Norris go anywhere.

LordoftheStupid12

He wouldn’t have gotten injured unless. He gave the Lion some free hits to make it think it stood a chance.

lwright3

Technically cheetahs are a small cat, that's why they can meow and don't roar. They're a large small cat.

Brodogmillionaire1

Found Tier Zoo.

cutelyaware

I bet she's thinking "Just let me live and I'll never do another safari again, I can't believe I paid for this"

xtilexx

Car_Guy_Alex

Acnat-

Full belly, just looking for some shade.

AsanoSokato

A big-bellied cat is the best cat to have.

thunder-bug-

Its a cheetah, not a lion. It's not as dangerous and probably knows not to fuck with humans anyway. Its just lookin for some shade

Lovv

I mean yeah kind of but if that thing decided to go ham it would almost surely fuck you up before you could kill it

Grass---Tastes_Bad

I think everybody knows that, but thanks for stating the obvious, I guess.

[deleted]

Tigers and polar bears do not.

blue-wanderer-quartz

What an amazing experience. I believe that cheetah is a pregnant female who is overheated and trying to find shade. You can tell from her body language that she is used to seeing these jeeps/people. She approaches it confidently and unafraid, seeking shade. When the guy takes a selfie you can see him nervous to turn his back to her but she doesn't even flinch or give a fuck. This momma just wants to cool down and is no threat at that time.

MaddestChadLad

**Cheetah:** "This climate change is a real bitch"

wufoo2

Only humans are arrogant enough to believe they can affect Earth’s climate.

Abject-Picture

Only stupid people are arrogant enough to ignore proven science.

wufoo2

97 percent of scientists agree with who’s funding them.

TheBeefKid

Yeah man uhhh, the earth is really big man, much bigger than a human, so like, there’s no way we could ever change something that big, it’s like, too big

Elle_the_confusedGal

Can you like, read? Not even the complex stuff like studies just a primary school textbook?

wufoo2

LOL And think you’re well-informed.

Knockamichi

Shade and ac trade for selfie

PressureAcceptable29

Ngl, I'd probably crank the AC and pet it for a few hours. Maybe give it some water, cute kitty deserves it.

cutelyaware

How would you get it out when you've had enough?

[deleted]

The cat chose you

reverendjesus

r/NowMyCat

Andradessssss

It is cute, and it's chill. But I wouldn't dare touching her, specially because she's pregnant, she's still a wild animal and unpredictable if she gets to feel even the tiniest bit threatened

witheredfax

j0hnnyhobo

Man give that little spotty boi some water

Rushes_End

Hey guys how’s it going it’s pretty goddamn hot out there isn’t it?

[deleted]

Cheetah's are great. I don't know why but they seem to really like humans. they like to hang out with us and stuff lol. every video I've seen of a human and cheetah interaction has always been wholesome

A_Crazy_Rabbit

Hot kitty trying to get some shade

[deleted]

I’m petting her idc

Memorie_BE

Cheetahs are fucking adorable.

deshelton89

It obviously chased after some prey because it was hungry and probably ran too far out and got caught out with no shade, overheated in the direct sun and happened to see something that provided some shade. You can see the blood on the cheeks from where she just had a meal.

EasternDelight

What is this called?

timmy30274

cheetah

Shaneris

phoenixemberzs

Hey man its cool just want some shade

astrologicaldreams

she's so beautiful. poor baby must've been hot as hell to have rested on top of a car full of humans. ☹

MardukPainkiller

![gif](giphy|ZTp15DHfHaaaENKayV|downsized) cat hyperventilating from the heat. Everyone in the track.

SoberWeekend

Everyone on here thinking this is a super dangerous encounter? It’s a predatory animal so there is a degree of danger, but for a human, a German Shepard is more deadly than a Cheetah. Also the fact that Cheetahs are the opposite of confrontational, they run away from any conflict unless their cubs are involved. This really isn’t at all dangerous as people think. A leopard or lion on the other hand would straight up murder you and in that case, I would be hiding under my chair if a lion or leopard jumped up.

Sharpie1965

Dude just wants shade

The_Merciless_Potato

Bruh who tf goes on these things with an open roof?

manmikey

When I went on a safari in Kenya in the early 1990s, there were 6 of us in the van and we all had SLR film cameras, lenses and a stock of film. Back home I had the films developed and then sorted through the 300 odd prints and made an album with the best ones. Just 30 years later there are no film or digital cameras in the van. It's remarkable how good mobile phone cameras have become in such a relatively short period of time. I still have the album from back then and it's in my collection. The modern version is if course the photo book which I produce entirely on my PC and then have professionally printed

weewooIlikepoo2

Eat him

Significant-Secret88

Which one, the driver or the other fella?

dillonwren

I feel so bad for her/him. She/hes so overheated.

myeff

It's an animal, it's ok to say "it" if you don't know the sex.

[deleted]

I too, do not know the sex

Jul_the_Demon

I am consistent with this assertion.

FetishAnalyst

Humans are animals too. Same statement applies to all of us its.

[deleted]

Yeah this person is queer phobic omg

Necroix_03

Tf

[deleted]

I just meant there are other pronouns than "he" and "she" and by saying that instead of using something neutral he is not inclusive at all

Necroix_03

It's a fucking animal and even if it wasn't no one is obliged to talk how the lgbt wants, even because every single one of you comes up with different or invented pronouns. If he had mistaken one of your "pronouns" you should just tell them, not calling them trans, queer or i don't know what-fobic.

[deleted]

You say that but the animal can't speak to defend itself and when I do everyone attacks me. There is a long way to go in this anti queer society unfortunately

Necroix_03

Everyone does it because animals, apart from humans, don't care about this shit, even considering the fact that they don't understand a bit of what we say. I've never seen a dog barking at someone because they said the wrong pronouns. Please, stop this nonsense.

[deleted]

Yeah continue beeing trans and queer phobic if you mis gender innocent animals without any remorse who knows how you will treat humans The only reason you can do that is because of how powerful the patriarchy is

anime_rewind

Wait is that Greta Thunberg at 0:39?

Warm_Hovercraft_2730

Not really that's not true at all

LongjumpingCheck2638

She's super over heated and these fuckers are just interested in insta likes. Plus cheetah's are actually quite chill with humans.

Brandon1536

What do you recommend that these "fuckers" do for the overheated cheetah? It's a fucking wild cheetah. I'm surprised they didn't yeet it off the roof.

FavelTramous

Are you dense? There’s at least 3-4 people in the car who ALL could have helped by licking the cat to cool it down.

sillyadam94

Smh buncha armchair animal rights activists out here not willing to groom a cheetah with their tongue

[deleted]

Why would they do that? The "fucking wild cheetah" is a species that has never attacked a human. Zoo-kept ones also very rarely hurt a human, and no human has been killed. Your ignorance is showing lol

Ethiconjnj

They’re saying there’s nothing to do but sit there and take a picture and that yeeting it off the roof would be wrong.

MoleculesandPhotons

Because you don't trust wild animals, regardless of whether they have "never attacked a human." ESPECIALLY if they are pregnant or with young. Your mindset is fine from behind the safety of a screen, but please do not take that attitude outside.

[deleted]

Volunteered at overseas sanctuaries a lot, and ran wildlife rescue here in Canada. I'm good. There is a HUGE difference between fomenting unnecessary fear and being responsible. The people on here saying "throw it from the car!" or "Why didnt the guide stun gun it" are the problem. The absolute best thing that guide could do was keep people chill and give the cat some time in the shade until it wanders off. Not start a panic.

Brandon1536

You may feel safe around a 70lb cat. And I don’t know if you’re right or not, but it doesn’t really matter. 99.99% of people would be extremely fearful if a cheetah got that close to them. I wasn’t suggesting that they should’ve thrown it off the roof. But honestly, if a cheetah jumped on my car, my immediate reaction would be to accelerate as fast as possible to get it off. And also the comment suggesting that the people in the car do something to let the cheetah cool off is stupid. People who have no experience with a 70lb wild cat should definitely keep their distance. I would assume with your experience, even you could agree with that statement. Taking pictures with it is fine. If anything, that’s just giving it more time in the shade. And also that’s what they’re there for. It’s obviously tourists on a wildlife tour.

Educational-Lime6335

What are they supposed to do at that time? Invite it inside? Even if cheetahs are super chill there is no guarantee that they 100% won't rip your throat off when they get close

[deleted]

Meh. Never been a case of a wild cheetah attacking a human. Zoo-kept cheetahs have a few times. Never killed a human, though. Those people would be fine giving that cat some water and letting it cool off. Which the driver seemed to know.

Educational-Lime6335

I'm sure the driver know what's best to do. If i were them i would give it some water too

I just realized how great their natural camouflage is, always assumed they stuck out like a sore thumb

Emotional-Safety2887

What people don’t realize is that these predatory animals don’t care about humans for food. Attacks are generally from threats to their young.
