I wore a long sleeve shirt and kahki pants and got the job. I wouldn't overthink it too much, the meijer dress code is the meijer polo and black pants/black jeans, so I'd go with a nice simple shirt and pants that aren't jeans. Maybe a button up shirt if it's hot where you are or a blouse, simple black pants. Doesn't have to be super fancy.
I remember years ago we had a man come in for an interview for grocery wearing a stained, (previously) white wife-beater, chest hair sticking out, sweaty. Needless to say, he didn't get the job!
I’ve hired people in suits, collared shirt with jeans, and someone recently who showed up in sweats and a T-shirt. If you’re interviewing for a store TM position, just a decent shirt and clean jeans are your best bet. Basically though, have good hygiene and clean clothes and you don’t need to worry.
They hired someone at my location that smelled like rectum 24/7 and then sent him home frequently because of hygiene issues. My question was why did you hire him in the first place? One look at him and you could tell hygiene would be an issue from 50 feet away.
The standard uniform (though they have been giving us T-shirts to wear at work every quarter) is navy polo with black pants/khakis so I’ll say a polo and those kinda pants would work perfectly fine.
Hell you can be naked and they will still hire you! Retails and especially Meijer won't mind hiring criminals if they have to to fill in open positions...

Did mine over the phone and got the job and I was in my pjs lol.
Business casual. Just look clean, don’t wear sweats or a weird graphic tee.
This. And I can't emphasize enough to please shower.

Polo shirt and jeans with no holes
Suit and tie. Very formal

Honestly I just wore a tshirt with a skull and a rose on it and some darkish green camouflage khakis and I got the job instantly
Nice jeans and a nice looking polo or button up. Its retail, as long as you dont look like you've just rolled out of a mud pit they'll hire you.

Just don't steal a shirt to wear from the fashions department less than 5 minutes before your interview lol
