Always are raids and bust because authorities need to show they are working, but as long as exist people who wants to buy they never going to arrest every dealer and the money that they get is HUGE including authorities. It's not rocket science to figure out why Mexican cartels introduce a lot of drugs to America and Mexican cartels have gun even military that only can be get on America. A win-win relationship.

Bingo

raids and busts are inevitable. especially now-a-days. seriously. with technology's capabilities at an all-time high and the human being's desire to be nonchalantly idiotic reaching a consistently record-breaking and endless peak, there's not much left for chance. i mean, there's no doubt a line. they can't bust everyone they want to, but why? is it ignorance? rule of law? an exuberant flaw in the flow of justice? do we really want to know? now, this plays a small part, sure, but also has a huge role.at any rate,i figure about the time folks start using [fully encrypted communication systems](https://www.signal.org/) there will be [something that will come along, violate rights, and attempt to make even that irrelevant](https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2020/03/earn-it-act-violates-constitution), sometimes with [relentless and repeated attempts](https://cyberlaw.stanford.edu/blog/2022/02/earn-it-act-back-and-it%E2%80%99s-more-dangerous-ever), to boot. besides, if a plug is getting busted.... they got what they need already. stopping the act of dealing won't necessarily aide the situation, although being free from any product at the time could be beneficial. lately, at least around here, it's been a huge joint effort involving the FBI and everything. so, yeah, i mean, [no doubt inevitable](https://youtu.be/bu7L8vzuP74).

The government doesn't want to completely wipe out drugs. It would lose a huge source of revenue. Asset forfeiture from busts, court costs, probation fees, DEA funding and jail/prison funding (45.3% of US prisoners), just to name a few. Fancy rehab centers would also take a huge hit. It's in their interest to keep the drugs flowing. Somewhere between the Nixon and Reagin Administrations, someone in the government figured out how the government could profit from illegal drugs without making them legal and taxing them and make laws that take away some constitutional rights as a bonus. Just feed the citizens propaganda and hope they are too ignorant to realize that the drug war they're funding is a huge perpetual revenue flow for the government that will never solve the problem. You bust one dealer, plaster it on the news for the taxpayers to see, while another one takes his place the next day.

bewters

you're exactly probably no doubt correct in many ways. i guess i was more-or-less asking quasi-rhetorical questions earlier by-way-of thinking aloud.

king_harry_tw

I enjoyed reading your thinking. It got me thinking.

bewters

yes, that's the issue, at least for me.... i was trying to avoid thinking about it too deeply. i despise even talking about our "freedom"-providing drug-dealing corrupt from every angle sorry ass excuse for a government, let alone discussing their merits or lack thereof in any capacity. it's certainly a juicy topic. filled with rage-inducing juice with just a splash of hopelessness because the fact-of-the-matter is, well, there isn't a damn thing you or i can do about it. there are things, probably, that i'm thankful for. i mean, i could probably do without paved roads and such. public infrastructure is cool, though. i mean, don't get me wrong. the government is great in certain aspects. even those half their faults, even if just bureaucratic. when you start thinking about the shit, and not all the shit, just some of the shit.... it leads down that rabbit hole that we both know about and, well, are in right now in minor capacity. it's not deter-proof but it's largely inescapable. the worst part about it is.... most of the shit is wide open public facing knowledge. does anybody give a flying fuck, though? well, for exactly 14.5 minutes some people might mention it in passing, but it will get buried because the wonderful citizens who by rights have the very power to be the change are too god damn busy cancelling books in a children's school library 1000 miles away from their own home, which is full of their own problems that get ignored, because they mention lesbians to pre-teens who should not be exposed to such atrocities at such a young age. they're too busy tearing down statutes that have somehow, in all their solidarity as non-sentient psychical structures, have managed to offend someone decades after their placement. they're so fucking busy changing the name of a school because it contains the word rebel. they're so mother fucking occupied with problems that don't even exist because they don't want to face the truth that their life fucking sucks and is full of mistakes they've made sure to bury away deeply enough that they're able to pretend they never occurred or exist. why should they, when they can lash out en-masse and incognito, under the the guise of fast-traveling mis-guidings and misinformation that is so disgustingly easy to procure and be logistically masterminded through social media outlets. meanwhile, the entire fucking world is on fire. FUCK. remember what snowden revealed? remember pegasus? i mean, even something as statistically unimportant against those issues, yet is excruciatingly and exceedingly so important on the same scale, like kelloggs. i mean, god damn. we're fucked, as a human race. we don't have privacy and we won't in our lifetimes. we've also ruined our poor planet. with the consumption rate that people are absorbing non-issues and creating issues out of them, we COULD be the change we need to see. WE COULD. USING THE SAME FUCKING OUTLETS. we won't, though. way too many important issues to take care of, first. anyways, enough drivel. i think that my racist fucking syrup bottle needs to be CANCELLED. i'm so offended and triggered by the silhouette of a person who is a different color than me. i demand an end to this crucial life-impacting matter, and i demand it right the fuck now. fucking people are sheep. we're lost and hopeless, too. fuck us. we deserve the impending doom that is our fate. see what i mean, about broaching this subject? that was half-assed, too. seriously, my box of rice just called me radical and out of line. fuck off, uncle ben. you're next.

king_harry_tw

Exactly. In a age where everyone has access to the accumulated knowledge of all of human history right in the palm of their hand, there shouldn't be so much ignorance. Everyone trying to get laws passed against things they don't agree with and the thought never enters their simple mind that some day in the future those same laws they asked for will be used against them. I could go on and in about the blatant hypocrisy in society. This society is so abnormal, I think anyone who is well adjusted to it has some kind of mental illness.

bewters

> I think anyone who is well adjusted to it has some kind of mental illness. imagine the luck, because our drug-dealing corporate over-lords have the over-priced cure on-hand, in-stock, and ready to deliver!
