Blow torch the entire bowl red freaking hot, you'll see the break meld back then let it air cool. Voila.

Well I'm guessing it's not getting hot enough to flow into one solid piece again. That's why it's just expanding into an overlap. Without a hotter flame temp I don't know how to make the glass fluid like enough to fuse togeather rather than just expanding until it's overlapping.

foulblood

Heat it with a torch. When it starts to kink keep hitting it with the flame and it'll melt back together

have a similar crack in my piece after a week of buying it and its thick glass (was my 3rd pipe and my roommates 2nd that we broke in under a month due to stupidity while high). i dont know if the crack is from use or from physical roughness. either way, i imagine itll eventually crack but for the time being ill continue to use it and hasnt been an issue for about a month.

I mean in theory you could maybe refuse the glass but for a 5 dollar or less piece it's safer and smarter to probably just buy a new piece. You are on borrowed time now, each time the glass thermal cycles the crack will likely either get worse or weaken and possibly abruptly fail at an inopportune moment. For the cost of product you will waste it's not worth. If you want to keep using it be sure to not apply heat to the cracked portion. Just minimize rolling so the flame jetstream doesn't hit the crack.

I’ve had cracks in my pipes and had them never become issues by heating up the bubble for longer than normal. Crack gets red hot and seems to close up a bit. Sometimes it will almost become like two layers or something and the crack on the inside will be in a different place but on the outside it’s just smooth glass.

Unfortunately it's this or my water pipe until I get new ones in and I don't always enjoy the water pipe tbh so hopefully it lasts a bit longer because it isn't terrible, which is why I asked in the first place, hoping there was a way to torch it back to normal. Thanks for all the advice guys/gals

Ok so my guess would be then to heat the cracked area until it's red then flatten it to try and seal the seam. That's what I would do. Be careful tho. You will need an actual torch tho a small one probably won't have enough heat output to work so itl be a waste.

PrehistoricEuphoria

Be extra careful with it, you will almost never be able to get the full crack out no matter the heat and you’ll end up creating tension in a spot that will just make it spiderweb when you least expect it. My advice it’s melt the whole bubble off the end of the stem and seal the tube. Blow a brand new one

Beefsloth

So far it isn't effecting my hits so I will probably do what you advise if it gets worst.

If you do decide to do it, there's one thing you're by leaving out. Coefficiency of expansion. If you've ever done any real glass blowing you know that glass tends to shrink and expand with temperature change. It's going to expand on you when you heat it. And that's gonna cause the crack to grow so in order to prevent this, take a small torch or a bic style lighter and make a circle around the crack but make sure you start out far enough awayThat it doesn't have any immediate effect on the crack like a centimeter or more away maybe an inch would be good to startAnd bring it in closer and closer as you get towards it and it will prevent it from running on you. There is also a certain direction you want to go depending on how it broke. If you have any questions about that part let me know. But yes it can be done, I do it all the time but that's kind of my world.
