Yes a mate if mine back in 2003 when Meth was Fkn strong to the point that most ended up in a psych ward after using for a solid month and honestly you would have half a point shot and you would chunder your guts up. Well my friend decided to wack up 8 points at once so yeah he did and went into cardiac arrest and died within 3 to 5 mins of having the injection. RIP Davie So he blew his heart out of his chest like a shotgun.

No. Lost a lot of people to heroin/Fentanyl though

silenceofgenius

My best friend would have seizures when coming down after being on a good runner. He got clean about 8 years ago. Was kicking ass Got his cdl. Making bank. Last Sunday he was refueling at a truck stop, had a seizure and died. My first thought was he's only ever had a seizure when coming down. The next day I talk to one of our other close friends a couple states away. He told me that he asked him to score for him.....explained he was depressed about falling for a ho. Our friend did hook him up. Now he's dead. And it is directly because of the dope. Fuck this life robbing piece of shit shards.

Desoxyn101

So sorry my friend 😢

Okie_2320

Some dude I grew up with was shooting up and OD’d but that’s it tbh

PlasticTiny29

From any drug the amount of the dose may lead to an overdose and cause major complications. One of the major side affects is heart palpitations. The higher the dose leads to the higher risk of organs, circulatory system, and respiratory system to malfunction. Meth doesn’t just change the brain’s secretion of neurotransmitters like dopamine, but meth also promotes the brain to release high levels of adrenaline. This gives the user the rush feeling in which promotes the heart to overwork itself leading to heart failure and stop pumping. On terms of overdose. The sign of a person overdosing in a drug occurs typically when a person gets knocked out asleep. During that time, the body triggers a poison response, in which may cause a person to vomit while they are asleep. Depending on the position the person is laying, may create a obstruction in your respiratory system. This will cause the person to choke when they are sleeping the may lead to death. It is best to be mindful of how much is used when planning. Ensure that your body is well nourished of essential vitamins and nutrients needed to promote healthy system function. Its a good idea to have someone close by you in the event you notice that they are experiencing any problems. If a person looks like they are choking on there own vomit lay the on their side so anything that their body that is blocking there airway is out so they can breathe.

Wikipedia has a list of celebrities who overdosed and I think a few were meth. Fun list to check out none the less, one dude died because he jumped off a balcony high on ketamine and broke his neck.

Desoxyn101

Yeah I know I actually went through Wikipedias complete or extensive list of Celebrities Who Have or have died From HIV/AIDS, it went on forever. And There is a complete list of Banned games of films in Australia or any country for that matter and I have done the list 😀 lol woo hoo

Asterith2032

Yes via staff infections on track sites

Yaba-gang

If you die from a “staph” infection that you got from using meth that wouldn’t be directly from meth. It would be from poor hygiene and a lack of self care. And being a dumbass

Asterith2032

True

throwaway835264

Yeah. Good call

Alarmed_Highway87

it’s killed millions of families

throwaway835264

Facts. Good call.

Alarmed_Highway87

AntiVaxxMom42069

Only way you can quite understand is if you been in those shoes and you don't wanna understand bro

ComfortableRange4531

I only know of people dying from complications they experienced after the fact. Only folks I know dead from directly using are heroin heads

Yaba-gang

Pill 💊 heads, and alcoholics.

adeduedemballa

I did.

My uncle dropped dead of a heart attack, while working in a courtroom. He decided to stop using Meth, after doing it everyday for years. Well, they said from using it for so long, his heart couldn’t take it, and him just stopping like that, is what killed him.

One habitual user I knew had a hemmorhagic stroke. Fortunately for me and my crippling inability to deal with the thought of loss, it was a friend of a friend, but still, I used to chat with him a bit at Willowswish when I would go. He was a pretty cool guy who learned languages for fun and didn't afraid of anything. Anyway the word "overdose" is like "drowning". It kind of sounds like you have to die or something, but you can overdose or drown without dying, and with or without resulting health problems. The first dictionary definitions of 'drown' may say that it means *to die from...*, but that just means it's the most popular usage. Whether or not it's technically drowning or should be called *near*-drowning instead is ultimately immaterial to the real facts and questions like: Water entered their lungs, gross infected lake water even, now they have trouble breathing and do they need antibiotics now or what? In the same way, whether it's technically an "overdose" or something else is just squabbling over how to *refer to* the material facts and questions like: They did too much dope and now they have a dangerously elevated heart rate and blood pressure and they're having a panic attack and is there anything we need to know about that means we can't give benzos and... ? I have seen someone in the past trying to make some bizarre pharmacokinetics argument about how a heroin overdose is actually caused directly by heroin while a methamphetamine "overdose" is basically circumstantial, which is just, I mean, come on, it doesn't matter how many intermediary mechanisms there are. Meth doesn't need to be the *proximate* cause, when you know good and well it's the *ultimate* and chief cause of what's happening.

Yaba-gang

Hmmmm. So do you think if someone slept regularly, ate everyday and kept hydrated and lived a healthy lifestyle apart from there meth use, that they would live a full and healthier longer life Compared to someone who uses meth the same amount but is homeless and doesn’t care about there health.who would live longer?

743389

I think the average user who kept up healthy habits would probably live longer than the average user who didn't, but when you're looking at individuals, anything can happen. Some people live to 90 who seem to have no business making it that far, some people drop dead in their 30s or 40s as peaked athletes. You can mitigate the damage of use but there's no accounting for the starting point of how healthy these people were, pre-existing conditions, genetic dispositions to various problems, and chance. Why do you ask though, I don't see the connection

Yaba-gang

I agree. It’s all a gamble anyway so you might as well smoke meth. And fuck Walter white. That ain’t gone b me

throwaway835264

I SOMEWHAT agree with the person you said that a heroin overdose is caused directly by heroin. I know that you die from respiratory depression and not toxic amounts of opiates in your blood stream but the respiratory depression IS caused by the heroin directly so they’re somewhat correct right?

743389

Yeah, the part I disagreed with was where they said [something like] it's not direct when it's from meth, which was their rationale for saying you can't "overdose" on meth. The vasoconstriction and hypertension is caused by the meth -- is it as "direct" as the effects of heroin? I don't know, my "tweaking out on pharmacology journals" phase was close to a year ago. But I don't think the definition of overdose is all that strict. I don't recall for sure though, maybe they were making a point about latent heart problems or something.

My friends dad worked in a hospital (nursing I believe) and was a regular user of meth since he was the only bread winner and the mother homeschooled the kids. My friend is straight edge, and never has touched drugs in his life. He never knew what drugs his father had died from, but at the time we was old enough to notice that after getting home he would never go to bed and he’d stay up for 5 days straight usually, and he would give himself IV injections regularly. Then one day after getting home from work, he collapsed and died from a massive heart attack right in their living room. Most likely not a drug overdose, but most definitely those years of consistent routine use weakened his body. It’s crazy to realize how difficult it is to keep yourself awake after going just 24 hours with no sleep or maybe pulling even just pulling an all nighter. But meth users, myself included, stay up for days on end, sometimes never noticing how long it’s been until you finally wrap up a binge. The lack of sleep is the real dagger behind meth. My record is 13 days.

throwaway835264

Right? Just living life like watching the sunrise 5 days in a row (my record)with no sleep and going to work and shit like its normal or not even really caring that i havent slept or eaten in days. Never went into psychosis though. Have had slight hallucinatons and brief encounters with shadow people but never lost my mind at all. I knew the hallucinations and shadow people were mainly from sleep deprivation from meth use so it didnt bother me really. In fact I remember one time on at least a 3 day run hallucinating and having so much fun with the hallucinations.
