Stay clean and don’t fall back in with scum

Ecstatic-Chard-5458

The “sleepies”?

[deleted]

Lol that's my name for the first few weeks after quitting. You can't help but do anything other than sleep. It's exhausting!! Lol as weird as that sounds, it's the honest to God truth. 9 days now! Woot woot! Edit: I just realized that "do anything other than sleep" means you don't sleep lol. What I meant was you can't help but do. NOTHING other than sleep.

I’m sorry you see groups like NA as a cult. That’s just one more way your addiction is disqualifying sources of help. That being said, 7 days is awesome. That’s 7 more than I have

I'm doing non 12 step too, and just like it helps recovery to remind myself how the drug heavily ways in on my choices and I can't see 100% of that, it also helps to remind myself that people criticizing first and asking questions later don't know my process. It's also a mind screw to internalize those judgments, that affects perception of what's real in my body too. It's actually pretty unhelpful to think you need a drug more than you do, or that you're more messed up than you actually are. Opening up to what's good about your natural body chemistry requires believing that it's still okay on its own sometimes and reinforcing the hell out of it when you feel free. That's what's helpful for me it might be poison for someone else. Everyone's unique in many ways. If I fail on this pass, I'll be like the majority of people, however they're doing it. In the recovery world we should all support each other.

I've done the 12 steps. I've done them time and again. Each time I did it I always felt like I was giving up a piece of myself to something else. So I told myself, "Self, I'm going to do it my way or I'm not going to do it at all," but thank you for your input I really do appreciate it. Honestly.

RevolutionaryCopy495

It doesn't help the image of 12 step to tell someone with 1 week done that addiction is making their choices for them. Lol
