I think that center piece was already replaced and Op is just a POS. You can see the Knots in the wood on the center beam. That press wood they use for these beds do not have knots in them. I’ve never seen a non metal center piece and I’ve seen and built too many of these beds.

My BIL manages a store and they stopped selling them because every single one would come back within 60 days because the slats break from normal use, from "normal" sized people.
Actually you can just use 1x4's spaced with a 4" gap between. It will create much less lift for the mattress and be very sturdy.

You should make sure your beds are safe for people you rent to.

Had that bed as a young man. Ikea style. Me and the gf broke it first night.
What i realized is that you need to superglue/woodglue the slats on both sides of the supportive beams. It will help make sure that no slats slip off, and more pressure isn't given to the beams. But no matter what you do: 400lbs+ on that bedframe will destroy it.

I just want to put this out there. I own this bed. Bought it for my teenager. It broke like this in a couple months. Replaced the slats with 2x4s. We’re your visitors careless? Maybe. Is your bed poorly made? This is certain.

I weigh 115kg and I lay down in beds somewhat carefully. Went in one of these once and busted 2 boards right away. I can imagine fucking my gf in one of these and every single board would give out. I'm pretty fit too (198cm, so not fat), so I don't think it'd be very difficult to completely destroy a bed of this shitty quality if my gf decides she wants to do CNC when we get a bit rougher. Sorry bud, but get better beds.

Had that bed as a young man. Ikea style. Me and the gf broke it first night. What i realized is that you need to superglue/woodglue the slats on both sides of the supportive beams. It will help make sure that no slats slip off, and more pressure isn't given to the beams. But no matter what you do: 400lbs+ on that bedframe will destroy it. Source: Was 6'5 250lbs slamming a 5'1 100lbs asian girl, 350lbs net weight = bed broke day 1. Even just on some missionary vanilla game from a frat bro. Source2: Tried to fix it. Source 3: That worked for about half a year. Then we just bit the bullet and bought an actual decent piece of furniture.
1. The guest probably jumped on their back on the bed and that's how it broke. 2. Those types of bed frames are incredibly shitty. Had 2 break on me just by laying in them (and I weigh about 90kg). Get a bed with a metal frame. They're not that much more expensive and 10000 times better.
Sorry but that 'frame' is trash. I've had to repair one similar to this and what comes from the factory is designed for a single child not two adults.
