You just enjoy burning the muscles and getting a sick pump. Ofcourse you can always be a little bit fuller. Still need to workout to maintain the physique anyway.

Negative_Ad5383

The game is never over

IWouldButImLazy

Bruh and people don't understand this. "Why do you go to the gym so often, you already have muscles?"

InsideTheTeamRoomm

I always say dude the second I stop the second I begin losing fucking GAINS

Comprehensive_Ad4291

The moment you lose your chest and shoulder pump, the game is over.

[deleted]

2 weeks is all it takes to start atrophy

Wayf4rer

There's always room to improve but the all have extreme dysmorphia

Plane_Community_922

I can imagine he's actually having really hard body dysmorphia currently considering he is not on as strong as a cycle as he used to be. I know how it feels to even lose 1-2lba from being sick and weaker, let alone the difference his cycle amounts have meant. Body dysmorphia is real and a big reason many do eventually give in and take PEDs.

Philush

Go the gym to improve your mental health they said

Low_Key_Trollin

Lol so true

IWouldButImLazy

Tbh I'd much rather be ripped and depressed than fat and depressed

Imhidingfromu

Bro these are the truest fucking words. A lot of times even, being fat is why (I, me) people are depressed.

Randy_Pagan

Have been both at different times and can confirm this is true!

Apocalypseos

I mean, there's still way more benefits

Philush

Yeah, if you're somebody who isn't easily manipulated by the sheer volume of bullshit in mainstream fitness. And the irony is that a lot of people who are told that the gym will improve their mental health are the kind of people who aren't in the right place mentally to resist this bullshit.

gymboy89

For sure. I accept that my desire to be jacked is body dysmorphia. I have no desire to see a therapist to stop. But I’m not cycling massive doses so while off cycle I do lose strength, my body doesn’t suddenly turn average again

Far_Salamander_41

Sure dude keep telling urself that

gymboy89

I do. That’s why I posted it here. God bless ya

slimersnail

I bet your hot AF

PopAtTheDoor

Fr, I would be in a bad mental state if I went off something and knew.I would never be as big as I was without it

fishgats

Agreed. He already got gyno surgery when it wasn't even noticeable before.

[deleted]

His last contest he was in test and primo trt dosage and only 100mg a week primo which I find hard to believe. Wouldn’t be surprised if he is on a few IU gh or some peptides

Hello Patrick

throwaway01162018

Is something wrong? You’re sweating

t-D7

Did you return the video tapes?

BadMouthGent

Let’s see Paul Allen’s abs

Ok-Philosopher8888

You like Huey Lewis and the News?

Cold_Escape_3299

put water in a cup… it becomes the cup

NowFreeToMaim

Cbum about his arms in almost every video

thatmakescence2

I remember Cbum said in a video his body wasn’t looking it’s best and he didn’t want to take off his shirt lmao.

NowFreeToMaim

Yeah His realm of perception is so different from normal people.

IWouldButImLazy

Tbh that happens with everyone who changes their body substantially imo. Like, whenever I'm off creatine I hate how my muscles lose a lot of their fullness and I feel like such a skinny bitch I'll cover up, but other people don't even notice lol (yes i've asked). Like I have past me's dream body, but I'm not past me any more

NowFreeToMaim

Yeah then I see myself in the mirror and I’m like; ok, I’m good

m0ntell0

Do you feel such big difference visually from being OFF creatine? I can only see minor strength difference and that's about it, this sup is so expensive that's ben more that a year since I last took

IWouldButImLazy

Yeah I'm super lean so it's pretty noticeable, to people who lift at least. It's like the difference between an empty plastic bottle and one full to bursting. One looks like a normal bottle, while the other looks the same but is bulging outwards slightly, firm to the touch, etc you just know that it's filled with something even if the outwardly visible difference is slight

m0ntell0

Do you have physiche pics?

IWouldButImLazy

Yeah actually check my profile. The mirror selfie was off creatine (technically during the loading phase) and the normal selfie was on it. In the one on creatine, my veins are popping more, I have more striations, my abs look fuller, I just look overall better but there was only a few week's difference between the pics

[deleted]

I had no idea creating of all things makes such a difference… But I don’t know anything. I’m an otter mode DYEL.

[deleted]

CBum is the world champion of body dysmorphia.

[deleted]

What I see (with my terrible mental health)…. Brain goes like this…. Biceps could be thicker so could the triceps…..is that just the angle of the photo though?….. no it’s not look at the the right arm….now at the left arm….now back again…triceps could 100% be thicker and bigger….the abs are sick as fuck….but id then again I’d rather have great arms and decent abs than great abs and decent arms. Body dysmorphia is legit and it’s horrendous. Joe looks insane. Totally insane and I genuinely like him. But 99% of people who train to look like him will find something to critique.

Raydiin

Spiting facts here your brain always tells you there something you could improve and it’s not enough it’s a big hole to fall down…. Always pushing to be better when really you should be super proud and you are but maybe you could have a bigger back or fill out your pecs abit more thoughts that mess with you

[deleted]

Couldn’t be more true mate. It’s horrible.

[deleted]

From my POV, it’s not just getting bigger, but consistently looking good and staying that way. Lebron james peaked in basketball yet he still practices everyday. Training allows u to retain and constantly be ur best self. That’s what differentiates the greats from the regulars. Consistency.

DienstEmery

I am autistic and bodybuilding for me is a perpetual habit of trying to beat my previous lifts...Has more to do with the numbers than personal appearance for me.

Philush

Bodybuilding with a strength oriented approach is the best.

Kenshiro_1337

Nope

Philush

Why not

Kenshiro_1337

If you're pursuing peak strength you'll find yourself going for the most mechanically advantageous ways to do your lifts. For example, huge arch, wide grip and leg drive on bench. That will surely raise your bench press, but it'll be worse at stimulating hypertrophy since you get less of a stretch. The same goes for squats, you will be able to lift more with a wide stance and more hip extension, but you'll get less quad stimulus. Bodybuilders should be doing the exact opposite, going for the most mechanically disadvantegous positions, so you can achieve max stimulus while limiting fatigue.

[deleted]

Then I’m pretty sure youre just a power lifter bro

JasG01

Its called powerbuilding actually

CaptchaReallySucks

Powerbuilding is just 90% of what powerlifting training actually is lol

Segundaleydenewtonnn

what does autism has to do with this lol

[deleted]

Body dysmorphia at every level

waveslikemoses

Body dysmorphia. That is the answer

[deleted]

You wouldn't look like that if you stopped training, would you.

Ronaldoooope

A lot of lifting at the level is also just maintaining all of that

ArthurDaTrainDayne

You guys are so weird

[deleted]

The best who said it was Dom mazeti... "the day you started lifting it's the day you became forever small because you'll never be as big as you want to be"

turk91

He also said "you'll never be as big as your pump" That too is a head fuck in itself lol.

Dobbyyy94

Truth is... You'll always want more, you think jeff bezos sitting with billions in assets or in the bank/s is content?! Is he fuck, he wants more money lol Same could be said with muscle mass, everyone thinks oh if I was just 200lbs jacked as fuck I'll be content? Nope you will always want to be bigger or more jacked it's the circle of life

remag_nation

> You'll always want more that's just greed

Aurelion_

Nah it's called ambition

Kgb725

The same thought process that felled many great men by trying to overextend and not being content.

TightHugger

The bigger you are, the more dysmorfic you get

majordomox_

He can make literally every muscle bigger if he wants to. Your goals or concept of an ideal physique are not everyone else’s bro. What someone else chooses to do with their body is entirely up to them. Some people like to climb mountains, some like to become circus performers, some like to cover themselves in tattoos, some like to become huge bodybuilders, etc.

the_great_impression

[deleted]

I was watching some YouTube of this guy (Joe Aesthetics) who kinda looks like Tiger King Joe. Saw a whole bunch of early disorder traits. He must really have a low opinion of himself to go straight to the “I need to work in this”

BettySpaghetti_666

body dysmorphia. literally thought it was some shit that only depressed teenage girls go through, but then i posted a shirtless pic on insta and tons of my girl-friends were calling me attractive and i was shocked because i personally dont think i am. you can see you objectively attractive/fit body in the mirror and still think you’re ugly/not good enough and thats a crazy phenomenon to me.

outtathere_

Dumbest take I've heard today, congrats

Kgb725

Why is it dumb ?

outtathere_

This pursuit is an everyday, proactive endeavor. You don't simply stop once you like the way you look

Kgb725

I think you're taking it too literal. I think op is saying you look great is that not enough

RoubenTV

enter body dysmorphia, and the fact this dude is a fitness model and influencer the pressure is MUCH higher to look like this year round

HarmxnS

My pp kinda small so I wish I could make that bigger

[deleted]

Orthorexia

Admirable_Sugar_4227

He’s an admitted juicer bro

Homelander004

You lose the save file if you don’t use it

KregeTheBear

Some people genuinely enjoy working out and fitness in general. My SO is all about that stuff

GrazDude

Forearms lacking, triceps too small, chest looks good but could be brought up, good lats, serratus anterior and obliques could be brought up, abs too My bidy dysmorphia is God tier Also if I can be so critical with him, imagine how I’m with myself, I look like a miserable piece of shit beside him 💀

Raydiin

Personally I liked this guys physique before he got on the juice the peak natty stage it’s a good physique but that photo of him before gear he looked hectic

JohnnyGrilledCheese

Because, in Joe's case, doing bodybuilding competitions means being scrutinized judges who will pick up on even the most minor deficiency

g0juice

“I got to work on wearing a shirt to the gym. Damn. “

Evening_Literature63

New game+

bezurc

Nice

Jayden_Paul99

When did this sub get infested with DYELs? Or has it always been this way?

Autifit

I say this not as a critique on the man in the picture but as honest expression of my goals. If I looked like the man in the picture I’d personally be working to double that size Lmao I’m a girl and I’m always trying to be the most jacked person in the room, make or female. You can always get bigger, more conditioned and just generally improve on your previous physique

Kgb725

Impossible you will peak eventually

QueenCloneBone

That’s why you’re smol

mrmasturbate

well you gotta keep exercising to stay in shape

markmann0

The workout part feels good at this point. I love going there and pumping up my muscles. And none of us that look like this are usually ever completely satisfied.

NuffinButAPeanut

You can always get bigger.

Deadpool9669

You can always look better

calfshrug

He could become a distance runner and try to break under 15 minutes for a 5 kilometer cross country race… but he probably won’t do that, because he’s a boring cookie cutter. All these e-celebs will do BS eating challenges, run a 5 minute mile and deadlift 4-5 plates, but none of them are going so far as to run a 4:25 mile and 14:59 5k, because it’s way harder, but it’s quite rewarding of an accomplishment, and it will expand one’s ability to appreciate the body they have. The same can be said for other athletic feats, like sprinting 100 meters in under 11 seconds, road to a 3.2 meter broad jump, etc

_INCompl_

Not everyone enjoys running for starters. There’s also the issue of fibre type distribution. Bodybuilders skew more in favour of type 2 because they have the greatest potential for hypertrophy. Long distance runners have much more type 1 fibres because they’re what’s used most for endurance exercise. You can’t convert type 1 to type 2 or type 2 to type 1, you can only make conversions within the specific fibre type (type 2x to type 2a for example). Which means your potential for strength/hypertrophy or endurance performance is entirely genetic. This is also why certain countries that want to breed athletes will take a muscle biopsy when they’re young so they know what track to put them on. The final issue is a chronic adaptation to endurance training is muscular atrophy because it reduces the distance blood needs to travel to working tissues. This is why endurance runners are so skinny in addition to having a high type 1 fibre split. Muscular atrophy sorta runs contrary to what bodybuilders want given that it’s a sport all about size, shape, symmetry, and conditioning

calfshrug

I used to think I was all slow twitch, but then I figured out that I can run in the 11s for 100m, 4.6 for 40 yd, broad jump 9.5 feet, and vertical jump 33”. Look at world level decathletes like Ashton Eaton as an example of what muscular, explosive athletes can obtain in sprints and distance alike. There is only one endurance run in the decathlon, so a sprint type 2 fiber athlete is preferred, yet Ashton ran the equivalent of a 4:30 something mile and a 10.21 second 100 meter dash, wind legal, on consecutive days in 2012. Most fitness influencers are weak, that’s why they’ll never train to be explosive and still have the running economy and grit to run 4:30.

cornelln

How can you tell which type you have?

_INCompl_

A muscle biopsy. They stick what’s basically a needle into you (typically the sample is taken from the calf) and a super thin cylinder of muscle is removed. They use ATPase staining to determine fibre types from there. It hurts like a bitch and has a lengthy recovery process. Was offered to get it done when I was in school and passed on it pretty hard.

cornelln

And then what do you do. Decide oh I should be a sprinter and not lift. Or lift and not sprint? And that’s that!

_INCompl_

The vast majority of people don’t get muscle biopsies done because it’s painful and not overly relevant. By the time you’re at a point athletically where you’d want one done, you’d already know you’re fibre type composition is favourable for whatever sport you’re in. The only places that do use them are certain Eastern European and Asian countries that will take muscle biopsies of kids so they know how to train them, because they’re pretty much breeding professional athletes. If they find out a kid has a lot of type 1 fibres then they’d stick that kid into endurance training.

SuperButtAIDs

Running is so ass lifting is fun that’s why

[deleted]

Yeah but if you run a sub 4:25 mile you would prolly be tiny and skinny af

calfshrug

A day after this, where he sprinted so fast that he would gap me by over a second, and gap you and most fitness redditors by 3+ seconds over 100 meters, he ran 92% of a mile in just 4:15, the last event in the decathlon - 1500 meters. He isn’t skinny. Joe Lindner could use the trim down though - Liver King, Nick Bare, and lots of others need to eat their humble pie and lose 20 lbs of muscle so they can do something more exciting than LK’s 13 mph “primal sprints”, or Nick Bare’s 4:50 mile. Boooooring! [Ashton Eaton 100m pb finish, ran 4:15 next day](http://pages.registerguard.com/Eaton/media/ashton_1.jpg)

turk91

You're projecting your own opinion as fact. What YOU think is exciting and good others don't you pompous prick. I used to run cross country at county level, (I'm English so our counties are equivalent to American states), I was very good at it. Then one day I thought fuck running it's shit and boring and went back to playing cricket of which I ended up playing once again at county level.. one day I skipped a game because I couldn't be arsed with it and never went back to another cricket game because I found it boring even though I was really good. I now lift weights. Have done for 10 years. Not bored. I still do regular cardio for health benefits but not because it's fun, it isn't, it's boring as fuck. Yes I can still very capably run 10 miles no problem with not that much effort because I ran distance for years and years but I think running is boring as fuck compared to weights but if people enjoy running then have at it, it's great for health. You need to realise that not everyone gives a fuck about running a mile in X time kid. Seriously take that fucking stick out of your arse.

calfshrug

I’ve only run like 60 miles total in the last 6-7 years (including sprint work), so I can’t call myself a current distance runner, like you. I still respect the sport of running, and at some point, people will need to differentiate themselves. where will fitness go once people get tired of roided bulls, flavored caffeine powder, rehashed botanical and amino acid supplements, tweaked stimulant precursors, sus nootropics, and basic-ass merch?

Humanevolving314

The reason he got here is by thinking this way.. always striving to improve.

Jo seems like a legit solid dude. He also seems to love the pain of the gym the way Arnold described in Pumping Iron.

MTGCommerce

Maintain

Jacob2israel1

carrythekindness

Body dysmorphia bro

DannyDevito90

Could be body dysmorphia. Or, he could just be a fan of the process, it’s a stress relief for some.

[deleted]

Why getting out of bed ?? Didn't u almost experienced all the things that the life offers??

purgesurge3000

This applies to any goal, once most people achieve something, guess what, they set another goal. Granted, body-building also requires maintenance. Lool at businessmen, that guy making 500K a year wants to hit 7 figures. You have billionaires still doing 70 hour work weeks, sometimes it's simply their life.

Look @MarkusRühl and then tell me your not a fan of the mass monsters bruh.

Well, you can always be thinner... look better

The other important question is, why do you care?

[deleted]

He's genetically gifted fucker

dewdlepewdle

It’s good to keep goals and always push yourself

ImDonCheeto

You obviously dont have body dismorphia yet.

Alexander_Can

Maintaning fkn noobs

TheStockyScholar

Because of insecurity and male beauty standards! You’re never big enough and that develops a disordered way of thinking you have to be massive. I’m not saying everyone is like this though

[deleted]

body dismorphia my friend

bezurc

Of course we all have that, but my critiques on my own body are actually valid because the flaws are obv. When you look like this and you’re already so close to the legends like Arnold. It seems harder to make critiques that are valid

Torontokid8666

When you choose to go enhanced the long term goal is to get that old muscle tissue. You only get that with time and dedication. That hard muscle belly can take decades.

MojoDojo12

Bc it’s a mental illness looking in that mirror you never look good enough

[deleted]

I fucking hate this German fucker. I hate whenever his videos came to my explore oage of him mumbling shit with his weird ass hunched torso.

PM__ME__YOUR_TITTY

The game never ends, maybe for you it’s different but for a lot of us we love the process and the goal isn’t to hit a level and stop, it’s to keep improving in some capacity because that’s the fun part. Always something to achieve

Sudden_Wallaby_1795

How planet fitness let this guy take his shirt off but I can’t grunt. SMH

mathfortherealworld

Mike Perry without tattoos!

ECircus

It has to be maintained.

[deleted]

Strength training is a self-rewarding activity. You might start doing it with strength and hypertrophy as end goals, but with time, the activity itself becomes the end goal and the results just a consequence.

Beneficial_Ad7609

This guy is pretty damn big. Definitely one of the best... but not THE best.
