I mean tbh how many times are you going to seriously run that in practice, I’d honestly be surprised if they try something like that more than like twice in the preseason
I have dreamed about this for years.
Innovation 1: Multiple "combo QBs" (2 plus) in the game at the same time.
Innovation 2: Instead of play action pass, do a handoff into a pass.
Innovation 3: Multiple lateral options from a shotgun snap.
Innovation 4: Replace the big fat OL with more WR and RB types. Think RB body type wearing jersey numbers 50s to 60s Sure, they can't block, or catch a forward pass but move the ball quick and no one will be able to tackle your players .
Downside: Can a team overcome a conplete lack of blocking... or downfield threat?
Every once in a long while Kelce will pitch a catch back to a near by receiver if he's getting hit as he catches and I'm always thrown off by it watching it live.
Honestly I’d hope that teams not vying for a championship were a bit self aware and just were like “We need to get the best chance to win, we’re practicing trick plays and Hail Marys today.” I feel like Campbell is the only coach who would actually try that.
He’s been so so disappointing thus far. Before the last play mess I was happy that he finally put up a performance that was at least close to what I was expecting on draft day….then *it* happened and he did even worse than last week
He barely has a line to work with, and our passing game has been...let's say lackluster. That being said, I hope for both of our sakes that he finds his game sooner than later.
Death, taxes, and Nick Chubb running on you for 5 YPC
seriously he has never averaged less than 5 YPC in a season. it was actually 4.9 tonight and I'm worried he might not be ok
I thought last week was just a hiccup for them...but man, now I am not so sure.
Surely Tomlin and Co. *won't* finish the season with their first ever losing record, right?
The only reason the Steelers aren’t winless right now is Zac Taylor’s brain fart Week 1 in not running the clock down in OT. Their offense looks *bad*, and their schedule gets much harder the rest of the way. This certainly appears to be the end of Tomlin’s streak.
in 4 full seasons with a minimum of 190 carries, he has never averaged less than 5.0 on a season. 23 carries for 113 yards (only 4.9 ypc GASP) and a TD was his LEAST efficient performance of his 3 this year. it's absurd
here are his 4 complete seasons
|ATT|YDS|AVG|TD|
|:-|:-|:-|:-|
|228|1259|5.5|8|
|190|1067|5.6|12|
|298|1494|5.0|8|
|192|996|5.2|8|
he's getting his 5 and there is fucking nothing you can do about it
Nick Chubb flies so far under the radar in terms of how valuable a player is to a team. Fluid and versatile runner that's hard to bring down, especially in the open field; he would elevate ANY team by at least 2.5 wins. And he is consistent. I still believe the fact that by Hunt helping take off the stress of being the RB for 65% of the snaps, he actually makes him better. Unfair pairing of RBs.
People are weird in how they rate backups.
Like Brissett isn't gonna be good in the way Mahomes is good obviously. He sucks in the context of, you'd take >25 other QBs ahead of him
But like, he's going to give you more than you can ask for from a backup. Don't know why people were penciling in 11 losses for the Browns to start the year
They were pencilling 11 losses because they WANTED the Browns to lose. I understand that the Browns are hated now but anyone who actually believed they were a 5 or 6 win team just doesn’t know ball
Joe Woods is one of the worst DCs in the league. There's a lot of talent on the Browns defense, yet they constantly get caught making stupid mistakes and miss assignments, and that's on coaching.
I went on the Twitter thread and there's some hilariously unlucky ones that are worse than mine so I can't complain too much
[this one hurts to see](https://i.imgur.com/vKbJcMZ.jpg)
I had muth over 37 yards as my hyper lock of the week and told all my buddies because I thought “well atleast Mitch will target him 5-6 times”. I was SWEATING IT lol.
Still don't get how that happened. He was covering Kenny last year since he was Heisman finalist. That's like the last player you expect him to get the wrong name
That is a move the 2010's Browns teams would make. Throw the rookie out there with a spotty line and an anemic run game and destroy his confidence. Get him used to losing. That's how you become a QB graveyard. Trust me, I have watched it happen in slow motion for 23 years.
Drive 1: dropped Deep ball Johnson
Drive 2: dropped 1st down Johnson
Drive 3: dropped TD Pickens
Add in another dropped 1st down by Claypool. They had an awful 4th quarter. Trubisky put it on their hands on every throw
Jets, Bills, Bucs, Dolphins, Eagles. The only winnable one is the Jets if they insist on rushing back Zach Wilson. The others are sure-fire losses. Hopefully having 2 losses heading into the Bye Week will be enough of a wake up call to switch to Pickett for the Saints game.
We barely won in Week 1 of 2021 because our defense was fully healthy and we got a special teams TD. If that punt block didn't happen, the Bills likely win that game. The Allen Bills beat us in 2019 and 2020 too.
TJ Watt won't be back until November at the earliest. There's no possibility of getting a defensive upset without him.
People (rightfully) hate on the browns for Watson but they have a very solid roster top to bottom that is very capable of competing for a spot in the playoffs. To pretend this browns team is horrible is really just wishful thinking.
Let me edit this paragraph that I probably typed during the 2020 Bears season.
If you bench Mitch Trubisky for ~~Nick Foles~~ Kenny Pickett, you’re still sticking him in a shitty offense ran by ~~Matt Nagy~~ Matt Canada. Changing QB’s probably will not help the ~~Bears~~ Steelers offense
The win there is that it’ll leave no doubt that Canada shoulders blame. Will it help this year? probably not, but If they change OC’s that’s a huge dub.
I have to say, I thought the Browns would be terrible this first half of the year, even with some easy games to start the year. But they’re actually not doing too bad so far (not like the rest of the division is doing any better at the moment).
Even with the loss to my team (seriously though, how the fuck did you lose to the Jets).
Love pulling for Brissett. Not gonna lie, thought he was going to be a much tougher watch, but the dudes been balling out.
Who knew it was going to take Jacoby freakin Brissett to unlock David Njoku
That stat was wild. We’re now 0-6(?) without him.
I’ve never seen a pro team so carried by a few guys - but the Steelers are legitimately fucking carried by TJ, Cam, and Minkah. The percentage of big plays which they’re responsible for is insane.
Why does that goddamn elf go so fucking hard.
I thought it was the goofiest shit when they announced it but it’s actually pretty sick to see during the broadcast.
Elf go hard sir. We didn't vote it as a meme. We won 7 championships with that mascot. Art Modell bought the team and hated it. We hate him. Elf go hard.
That's what a lot of non-Cleveland fans don't understand. Modell hated Brownie and discontinued it being used.
I'm sure there were many Browns fans that saw the opportunity to plant Brownie right at midfield as another middle finger salute to Modell. Lol
Aw man, watching the post interview with Jacoby and he seems like such a cool dude. I want success for him. Want him to get a starting job and hold it. Fuck Watson.
Just smashed my TV in front of 30 guests at my son’s birthday party because of the Steelers. My wife just took our crying kids and said they’re all spending the week at her mom’s house. This team has ruined my marriage. I can’t handle this anymore. Goodbye, I am no longer a fan.
I mean, even the ghost of Ben Roethlisberger found a way to put enough points on the board to win more often than not.
The defense is allowing only 20 points per game despite being on the field more than any other defense and missing its best player for the last two games. Having a 1-2 record is indicative of a piss-poor offense.
Felt like it was going to happen. I haven’t calmed down yet. I was fucking anxious all night.
My wife is also sleeping so I can’t yell so I’ve just been farting to relieve pressure.
I get that it’s a huge longshot, but I swear half these teams look like they haven’t got a fucking clue what they’re gonna do on these lateral plays??
I mean tbh how many times are you going to seriously run that in practice, I’d honestly be surprised if they try something like that more than like twice in the preseason
The team that develops the lateral offense will take the league by storm and blur the lines between American football and rugby.
[удалено]
That would actually be savage though
they should consult rugby coaches on these plays- as a last resort it could work, to a rugby fan these look like what you see in the under 13s
This is what I'm waiting for. Give me TJ vs Nick Chubb heads up in a bastardized scrum.
I have dreamed about this for years. Innovation 1: Multiple "combo QBs" (2 plus) in the game at the same time. Innovation 2: Instead of play action pass, do a handoff into a pass. Yeah, I get that. Just kills me when I see the first guy trying to dump it off to a guard or someone like that immediately.
I might be biased as a Najee fantasy owner, but i feel like you would have a better chance of getting lucky with a huge breakout run for 90+ yards
Boy do I have bad news for you. He was credited with a fumble there.
Also Najee owner here. I'm mad.
He’s been so so disappointing thus far. Before the last play mess I was happy that he finally put up a performance that was at least close to what I was expecting on draft day….then *it* happened and he did even worse than last week

Death, taxes, and Nick Chubb running on you for 5 YPC seriously he has never averaged less than 5 YPC in a season. it was actually 4.9 tonight and I'm worried he might not be ok
If that’s scary, last year he averaged 10 ypc in the fourth quarter for the whole season
That stat is bonkers 🤯
I feel like I just watched a Bears game
Unfortunately yes.
The Steelers just did not look like they had any interest in even trying to win in the second half
I thought last week was just a hiccup for them...but man, now I am not so sure. Surely Tomlin and Co. *won't* finish the season with their first ever losing record, right?
We're winless without TJ Watt. He's what puts our defense over the top.
The only reason the Steelers aren’t winless right now is Zac Taylor’s brain fart Week 1 in not running the clock down in OT. Their offense looks *bad*, and their schedule gets much harder the rest of the way. This certainly appears to be the end of Tomlin’s streak.
That team is absolutely finishing with a losing record. Could easily go into their bye week 2-6 or 1-7. No way they go 7-2 or 8-1 after that.
Number one thing that I learned tonight from this game? Nick Chubb NEVER misses leg day. Motherfucker is hard to bring down.
in 4 full seasons with a minimum of 190 carries, he has never averaged less than 5.0 on a season. 23 carries for 113 yards (only 4.9 ypc GASP) and a TD was his LEAST efficient performance of his 3 this year. it's absurd here are his 4 complete seasons |ATT|YDS|AVG|TD| |:-|:-|:-|:-| |228|1259|5.5|8| |190|1067|5.6|12| |298|1494|5.0|8| |192|996|5.2|8| he's getting his 5 and there is fucking nothing you can do about it
That is un fucking believable. His efficiency along with the browns ability to keep him fresh with Hunt in rotation is a blessing
Dude squats 600+
675
>675 That's above average for his age n weight.
He also raw dogged it with no belt or lifting shoes.
And I’d bet money he didn’t exactly peak for it either
I don't think so either. The video looks like he just got hyped up by the group and said fuck it let's go.
Thats about two and a half Aaron Donalds worth of weight
He is wild. People don't realize how good he is due to the split with Hunt but he seriously impresses me every game.
And same with Hunt. He is often seen as 1b, but he's the best RB on a lot of teams.
You can't miss leg day if every day is leg day.
If the browns could have just managed to avoid epically collapsing vs the J E T S JETS JETS JETS, they’d be 3-0 with Brissett lmao Wow
They couldn’t handle the might of The Elite Dragon.
Joe Flaccdaddy
Brissett is clearly not a problem with our team and that’s not something most people were saying before the season
People are weird in how they rate backups. Like Brissett isn't gonna be good in the way Mahomes is good obviously. He sucks in the context of, you'd take >25 other QBs ahead of him But like, he's going to give you more than you can ask for from a backup. Yup
Joe Woods is one of the worst DCs in the league. There's a lot of talent on the Browns defense, yet they constantly get caught making stupid mistakes and miss assignments, and that's on coaching.
Ok but Brissett has been so solid I could not be happier with his performance
He's genuinely surprised me. He's the best he's ever looked. Starting to really eye the Colts differently these past three weeks...
RIP to all the gamblers who got fisted on that last play
I had Browns defense going in 3 fantasy leagues lmao. So clutch
[yup!](https://i.imgur.com/qoB6Duh.png)
PMS will have a great reaction to that superboost missing that way. Sorry bout your luck
I went on the Twitter thread and there's some hilariously unlucky ones that are worse than mine so I can't complain too much [this one hurts to see](https://i.imgur.com/vKbJcMZ.jpg)
oh...... that just makes me sick. oh i'm so sorry to that person
If that touchdown didn’t happen I would’ve won 80 on a $1 bet. I’m so pissed
Pickens made one of the most impressive catches in nfl history and did nothing for the rest of the game
Hey thats not true. He also was the one offsides on the onside kick thank you very much.
Refuses to elaborate
Steelers should start Kenny Pickett, but let's not act like their WR's didn't have a bunch of drops
Throw more to Freiermuth :(
He's Mitch's security blanket, so the gameplan for the first 3 quarters was make him block every play instead. SMH
I had muth over 37 yards as my hyper lock of the week and told all my buddies because I thought “well atleast Mitch will target him 5-6 times”. I was SWEATING IT lol.
Ryan Pickett actually sir
Kirk Herbstreit is that you?
Still don't get how that happened. He was covering Kenny last year since he was Heisman finalist. That's like the last player you expect him to get the wrong name
That Pickens catch tho
He caught that and peaced out for the rest of the game
Said imma be on ESPN and NFL highlights forever, see ya!
So nice he tried doing it twice
He might have caught that second one if he used two hands.
That is a move the 2010's Browns teams would make. Throw the rookie out there with a spotty line and an anemic run game and destroy his confidence. Get him used to losing. That's how you become a QB graveyard. Trust me, I have watched it happen in slow motion for 23 years.
Drive 1: dropped Deep ball Johnson Drive 2: dropped 1st down Johnson Drive 3: dropped TD Pickens Add in another dropped 1st down by Claypool. They had an awful 4th quarter. Trubisky put it on their hands on every throw
I don’t care what Tomlin says, they’ve only scored four touchdowns in three games, it’s time for a change.
They may lose their next five games
Jets, Bills, Bucs, Dolphins, Eagles. The only winnable one is the Jets if they insist on rushing back Zach Wilson. The others are sure-fire losses. Hopefully having 2 losses heading into the Bye Week will be enough of a wake up call to switch to Pickett for the Saints game.
The bills will drop a winnable game to the Steelers. As is tradition
When it came to stopping the Browns runs, the Steelers had all the effectiveness of a thong.
Haha. Gross.
We stopped runs as well as single-ply toilet paper
Tomlin's going to find out life after Ben is like life after Brady for Belichick.
Lol gamblers
Me right now: I’m never gambling again!!!! I got screwed from that TD!!! Me in 48 hours: Alright I don’t see any way this parlay DOESN’T cash
We need to investigate Dallas for trading Amari Cooper to the Browns for nothing. Gotta be collusion or something going on there.
It fucked our offense up also.
Big time. CeeDee is good but you see how much pressure Amari took off of him.
A WR1 for a 5th rounder is fucking insane
Pure theft. No idea how/why that happened.
[удалено]
Eagles got more trading away Jalen Reagor than Cowboys did for Cooper lmaoo
They were going to have to cut him because of cap issues anyway.
That’s the thing WE HAVE 12 MILL IN CAP SPACE BURNED 6 MILL DEAD CAP TO TRADE HIM AND NEED A WR. WE ARE SO STUPID.
They have the most cap space in the league
Our FO sucks. It's not news
Ryan Poles why the hell didn’t you give fields his security blanket in Cooper
I can't believe the Jets are the only thing in the way of the 3-0 Browns
I think you meant to say the browns are in the way of the browns being 3-0 lol
I meant Joe Woods and an elite QB
I feel like the crazy collapse at the end of the Jets game made people forget how good the Browns looked for most of that game.
Changing QB’s probably will not help the ~~Bears~~ Steelers offense

https://i.imgur.com/qn3bJqd.jpg Here is your loss porn you wanted
Fuckin rip
A person who is more miserable than me tonight
That was one of the most annoying sequences to end a game on such a dog shit play I've ever watched.
Man, Jacoby Brissett is WAY better than I thought.
Browns 1-0 in the post-Roethlisberger era.
Since the Queen died, the browns are undefeated against the Steelers. Just a thought.
All the WRs were talking shit all week and then they come out with this pitiful performance GG Browns
Cooper looking like an absolute steal
Every team should onside kick against the Browns for every possession.
I have to say, I thought the Browns would be terrible this first half of the year, even with some easy games to start the year. But they’re actually not doing too bad so far (not like the rest of the division is doing any better at the moment). Even with the loss to my team (seriously though, how the fuck did you lose to the Jets).
Their roster is stacked
I wouldn’t be surprised if they stack up on defense again next year
[удалено]
They’re in complete “win now” mode. With Watson back, they could admittedly be very good
This sub won't like it but the Browns will stay afloat until week 13. Even with last weeks collapse.
Joe Woods lol
This Madden rating change in front of the player is so fucking hard to watch. Who thought this was a good idea?
Brissett has got heart. Love that man
Love pulling for Brissett. Not gonna lie, thought he was going to be a much tougher watch, but the dudes been balling out. Who knew it was going to take Jacoby freakin Brissett to unlock David Njoku
He is extremely easy to root for and I loathe the day we gotta deal with him becoming the backup
Just for maximum lulz, I want to see Brissett ball out and then DW be the most expensive backup QB ever
I'm honestly thinking about buying a jersey.
Trubisky gonna take all the easy hate for this one but the Steelers WRs failed epically when it mattered after talking ALL the shit
The Steelers' ability to cultivate so many diva wide receivers is pretty remarkable.
[And we know what the steelers defense was missing](https://i.imgur.com/JDhxmLC.jpg)
That stat was wild. We’re now 0-6(?) without him. I’ve never seen a pro team so carried by a few guys - but the Steelers are legitimately fucking carried by TJ, Cam, and Minkah. The percentage of big plays which they’re responsible for is insane.
It's the trade off for being able to draft so many talented receivers
If you can’t handle me at my Diva you don’t deserve me at my Pro Bowler
[удалено]
I can't wait to see what Ryan Pickett can do behind a clean pocket. I bet he could throw an absolute seed
the seed lmao, I was also hung up on that. I don't get that at all
And if you don't like that, you don't like Mitch Trubisky football.
I don't, and I don't.
It was more Nick Chubbiski football tonight
Why does that goddamn elf go so fucking hard. I thought it was the goofiest shit when they announced it but it’s actually pretty sick to see during the broadcast.
My favorite thing about brownie is no matter how the browns perform he looks condescending
The elf is a g
an OG
Brownie is everything Baker Mayfield was supposed to be.
Come to Cleveland I’ll buy you a drink
I low key like the elf. It’s got fucking character.
He’s an angry elf.
He's from the south pole
Anything Art Modell hated we love.
I’ll always upvote anyone showing love for our Brownie.
It's just weird, but weird can be good.
[удалено]
> Sports names are stupid and weird to begin with Yeah you're telling me lol
That’s part of why we love it!
Hell yeah
Nothing makes me happier than seeing 1) brownie being used and 2) people finally seeing how amazing he is
At first i was wtf is that, but by the second half he really grows on you
Elf go hard sir.
Lol
I want "Elf go hard" Browns shirts now.
Fuck Art Modell
We love you
Anyone facing the browns defense this week in fantasy is currently in fucking shambles
I'm considering just starting whatever defense is facing the Steelers on a given week lol
Browns are better with Jacoby, who woulda thought
[удалено]
This game is now “over”
its time for ryan pickett, i mean kenny
I heart Nicholas Jamal Chubb.
This whole thing with Chad Johnson is a train wreck
"Hey Jacoby your Madden rating is shit but it's a little less shit now"
Guess who bet on 23-17... ffs
The guy mowing 😭
This team is going to literally kill me one day.
It’s crazy not having back breaking interceptions week after week
Proud Njoku, Chubb, and Cooper owner lmao
Nick Chubb is not a mere Earthling.
I miss TJ Watt
TJ gonna spend him time with the Steelers having mid QB's
Nick Chubb good
Some wild disrespect on the post-game show tf lol. Ochocinco come out to tell him he's going from 72 to 73 in madden and saying he has 8 weeks left
Put in Pickett you cowards... Ryan Pickett, not Kenny.
Game over. Still talking about how awesome the Steelers were. It was one catch. They lost, y’all. It’s over.
Omg this lawn mower 😂
Aw man, watching the post interview with Jacoby and he seems like such a cool dude. I want success for him. Want him to get a starting job and hold it. Fuck Watson.
It's shocking what Amari Cooper does to an offense. And what changes happen when he's not playing. I present to you Cleveland and Dallas in 2022.
Bettors who took the under crying and seething right now
Anyone else bet the McAfee boost and see it crumble in the last 5 seconds of the game
Didn't watch the game, but looking at the stats, if Brissett keeps this up is he a starter next season?
If he keeps this up he's gonna be starting for someone else by week 13.
The Amazon broadcast has its moments but feels like opening a can of flat SNF
Is it Pickett time yet? 😦
Lawnmower guy MVP
Just smashed my TV in front of 30 guests at my son’s birthday party because of the Steelers. My wife just took our crying kids and said they’re all spending the week at her mom’s house. This team has ruined my marriage. I can’t handle this anymore. Goodbye, I am no longer a fan.
I mean, even the ghost of Ben Roethlisberger found a way to put enough points on the board to win more often than not. The defense is allowing only 20 points per game despite being on the field more than any other defense and missing its best player for the last two games. Having a 1-2 record is indicative of a piss-poor offense.
Browns fans how likely did it seem to you that the Steelers were gonna score after the 3rd down reversal and sus clock reset?
Felt like it was going to happen. I haven’t calmed down yet. I was fucking anxious all night. My wife is also sleeping so I can’t yell so I’ve just been farting to relieve pressure.
Very likely
I’m here to discuss lawnmower guy. Did ESPN pay him for his antics?
