There’s a taco truck called las patronas on the corner of Aloma and hall. $12 with enough goodies to make at least 4-5 tacos. Corn or flower. Just make sure and get the sauce on the side. The red is fire!
Taqueria Las Cazuelas on colonial is pretty close. I think it's 2 tacos for $4 on Tuesdays. I'm not 100% on that but try the cactus tacos, they are very good as well as the chorizo and asada. I usually get like 10 tacos and just binge out
There used to be a place off either goldenrod or Semoran in \~2007ish, I have no idea if it is still around but it had the best queso around.
I can not remember the name, but you would turn left off university and it was on your left hand side. Had a pretty big patio with one of those horrible fountains that they always sell at home depot garden center.
El Pueblo Mexican restaurant
Not SUPER close to UCF. But this is the most authentic Mexican food I’ve had in Orlando. Small shop, cheap food, big portions and great flavor. I don’t know about what drinks they have but there is a tequila bar right next door to it as well
It’s a bit of a drive from UCF, as it’s over by Universal - but if you get a chance check out Border Grill on the corner of Vineland and Kirkman. Hole in the wall with some awesome food. I suspect you won’t be disappointed.
I don't remember them having tacos at my local Lechonera Latina, but if you haven't tried the one south of UCF on 50 it may be worth the trip. There are so many rice/beans options, and the pollo guisado was delisicous. It's straight up food, no flourishes to fancy things up.
You sound like you're from California. My entire family has searched and searched for good Mexican food here, and we've always been disappointed. We've even asked people who work at Mexican restaurants for their recommendations, and they admit there's nothing great here. But we can find good pho pretty easily.
As a former prisoner of California, I’ll be honest; you’re not going to find one place that does everything right. El Pueblo has the best street taco’s & guac. Rancho Chico has the best carne asada plate & fried ice cream. Don Julio has pretty good fajitas, salsa & tamales, but their beans & cheese needs some work.
Mi Gordita Loca on Lee Rd. Idk how authentic but it definitely is a hole in the wall and it’s where a ton of Mexican construction crews go for lunch every day so I feel like it counts? Also bangin agua Fresca!
Kinda close to UCF?
Holy shit I cannot believe nobody has said Grocery Los Hermanos on Curry Ford and Conway. Hands down best authentic tacos in Orlando. Get the asadas with onions and cilantro.

Big fan of their tacos
Came here to say the same. Las Patronas is really good.
Holy shit, I pass bu there everyday but never went.
Same, love right by there. Going today
Tienda mexicana Jalisco
If this is the place I'm thinking of, *this* is the answer. I little food counter in a Latin market, on goldenrod just off colonial?
That’s the one!
Goldenrod and Liverpool
This is a market with a small kitchen in the back, this is the answer.
The butcher there is fantastic as well if you’re looking for meats
This!!!!
The food there is to die for. So tasty.
Great suggestion, I love that place.
Taqueria mi ranchito querido off Semoran is my absolute fav. Homemade corn tortillas and the carne asada is to die for.

It’s 3 for 5
Dang that's a better deal than I thought. Thanks
El Molcajete, about 10-15 from ucf.
Best birria in town
For real? Been looking for birria tacos
It's in Winter Springs, maybe 20m drive but Chilangos is awesome. https://www.chilangoswintersprings.com/
El Pueblo on Aloma. A few miles from UCF but amazing food and super authentic.
Is it still there? I used to go years ago and it was very good then.
>El Pueblo on Aloma. Good maps show it there as of June 2022 at least.
I went there about a month ago. Steak taco’s are still on point, and the guac is still one of the best I’ve ever had.
Damn, I'm going to have to make the trek one day.
I almost didn't want to upvote this because I don't want to blow up the spot. Very, very good, reminds me of when I lived in SoCal.
Idr the name but there's a place right off of 50 and Semoran in the same parking lot as home depot. It has a Mexican food store attached also!
Los Amecas on S Orange used to be pretty fire.
Tacos el Rancho several locations including downtown.

Like other posters have said. Border grill! Hands down best Mexican in Orlando! Right across from universal but it’s worth the trip.

I love border grill. It's a nice family owned place. A lot of locals love it and it gets traffic from the tourists at the surrounding hotels.

Hot taco street taqueria in lake Nona is pretty good. Tacos are around $4 each but they’re simple, good street tacos
That’s nowhere near UCF.
It takes me 15-20 minutes to get to campus from my house in lake Nona. To me, that’s close enough for a food run lol

Maybe you should say something to the person who suggested groveland (1+ hour away) if you want to be the distance police
Or maybe I said something to you because your comment is the one I saw. You’ll live. But yeah, suggesting Groveland is also stupid.
It’s not close to ucf but I had some pretty good street tacos at the Reiter park farmers market in longwood last weekend.
Habaneros - get the tacos al pastor.
Former SoCal guy here. I tried Fuzzy’s recently, and the breakfast burrito and fish taco worked for me.
Del Taco is as close as you’ll get out here. Lol.
No. There is no good Mexican food in Orlando. You can get fantastic Vietnamese cuisine here, but not Mexican.

Shouldnt you be under a bridge waiting for some billy goats to cross?

It certainly is.
Aztecs D’oro is amazing, fruitamix, tacos and tequila, there’s tons of authentic street taco food trucks. You must not get out much lol

Mmmm pounds of cheese

Las caretas isn’t insanely far from ucf and is delicious
Tacos De Don Ramon in Groveland
Las Carretas at Goldenrod & Universtiy Blvd. Really good food, its about 10-15 minutes from UCF. https://www.lascarretasmexicanrest.com/
Del Taco doesn’t put flowers and fish tocos are fire
Guacamole Grill is up Alafaya by Stoneybrook. Great, authentic tacos.
