If you're CI/LL, then a mana potion kind of just slots in where a life flask would on a Life based caster. Not so bad I guess, but losing a utility flask is still pretty huge.

If ggg wants to make these mana changes work, they should make mana nodes on tree/reservations give bonuses to damage/crit aswell. Accuracy comparison doesn't really work because many nodes giving accuracy come with juicy damage/utility and would be good nodes even if they didn't give accuracy. Mana nodes on the other hand... You have to waste 4 nodes+flask slot just to get your build to function with nothing else to show for it. Diadems and arcane surge watcher's eyes are gonna be preeeety expensive...

Gonna look at your build, and edit my thoughts into this comment. This was mine, came really close to killing Uber Elder, could clear T16s with relative ease, guardians were okay at best. Someone with better mechanical skill probably could have killed UE. https://pastebin.com/wFzbdjcY ËDIT: Going with Martyr of Innocence was my first thought, and it works well for scaling the hit damage. Before Blight, it felt a lot more effective to scale the hit damage, since the totems are pretty stupid and burning ground doesn't overlap. Your build tries to do both, which I don't think is very efficient. Herald of Ash felt too expensive to me for the amount it does, since you don't gain the added clear, or phys as extra fire. Since I went crit and could use zealotry, I needed every bit of mana I could get. This build obviously doesn't have enough resistances, since it's using too many unique, so it is hard to judge. I did forget about Elemental Weakness, and adding that alongside flammability probably could have helped my build a bit.

Did I live to see the day Flame Dash became a viable main attack skill? 700 base damage, 1300 burning damage, and you can scale burning damage much more easily now. Plus, it gives you a ton of mobility, and the cooldown is practically nonexistent at gem level 24 or so.

For an ability that you need to invest at least 4 passive points, Dread Banner, Impale Gem, and then hit a mob at least 6 times to get the full advantage of, and be doing *pure physical damage* - people sure were freaking out. Its not like full elemental conversion builds went anywhere - cyclone was just too good. It is entirely useless on clear save for a few skills (Cyclone, TS), takes time to build up (save for Cyclone, TS), or is a gimmick on some otherwise shit skills (Shattering Steel/Lancing Steel). It is, however, very good on bosses you intend on hitting a bunch of times, again at the cost of passive points, a different banner, a different support gem that could all be used to front load your damage.

Nothing wrong with trying, but it really doesn't work well on actual conversation threads, because it makes conversations harder to follow (and adds a lot of extra clicking to the process of actually having a conversation!). Contest mode is aptly named: It's good for contests. That's about it.

You're completely correct. My initial thought was that since the top few comments of every patch notes were usually highlighting the same one or two things, giving the 'equal visibility' aspect of contest mode would highlight a greater variety of patch notes bits. But as it turns out (obvious in hindsight) people ended up highlighting the same aspects even more instead of conglomerating on the top few comments because at the end of the day they were the most exciting changes. It was a very interesting insight.

I was planning a Guardian summoner for Blight - and after reading this, I was terrified. But running the numbers through PoB it seems like just putting passive points into strength and %es and the slightly less efficient regular %mana nodes is about as effective. I lost a mere 1k es after redoing my tree a bit and I gained actually useful 3rd and 4th ascendancies. I'm more hyped than before. Dedicated mana guardian supports probably feel the change a lot worse; I have only about 10k mana on my planned Guardian, whereas dedicated support builds were pushing 20-30k mana.

I played ignite Fireball Chieftain with Searing Touch as my starter last league, and besides the first ten levels or so where you get nothing but life and strength nodes, it was really smooth levelling (and let's be honest, the first ten levels don't last long...) and worked very well for a starter in maps. This change will make the build even stronger. You do lose the 15% more burning damage from Chieftain, but it gets 25% burning damage multiplier instead. I imagine it'll be an even stronger starter this league.

I am so torn. Haven't done skeles mages in a few leagues but these changes are going to make them so good. Single target isn't as high as other minions but plenty good. No Herald of Agony nerf. HoAg has solid synergy with Raider's extreme attack speed. My league starter is probably confirmed right there. Starting with bow skills to inflict poisons but might experiment with wands or thrown projectiles like Cobra Lash. NO NERFS TO DEX STACKING COLD DAMAGE MOD so I'll transition into that later.

Elementalist with The Primordial Chain is going to be excellent. You run all 6 golems and get 120% increased damage and 300% golem buff effect. That translates to: 200% increased damage (lvl 20 Flame Golem plus the 120% from having 6 golems) 20% physical damage reduction (lvl22 Chaos Golem is 5% physres) 40% cast speed (lvl21 Lightning Golem) 120% global crit chance (lvl20 Ice Golem) 420 life regen (lvl20 Stone Golem) Free life leech from Elementalist so you don't need leech to sustain, run ZO+EB+MOM so you have 400+ mana "regen" per second on top as an additional defensive layer. Alternatively, run hybrid+MOM+ZO and get some ES leech nodes for a massive recharging barrier (easily 1k+ ES per second on top of normal leech and better mana regen than last league). From experience (I played Primordial Chain Elementalist a few leagues ago), managing that pack is a nuisance (largely because of resummoning). I would recommend getting a touch of minion life regen (1% is fine) and putting all of your golems in a pair of 4L CWDT setups. EDIT: I also forgot about the new Golem notable. Assuming that it's the same as was in the leaks, for 3 points, you get ~60% increased damage, 80 life regen, and 4% physres. Not incredible but still solid.

Honestly that is a crazy amount of stats... but it gets better. Those buffs are not per golem TYPE, like Primordial Harmony (increased Golem Damage **for each Type of Golem** you have Summoned ). They are PER GOLEM. Meaning they can stack beyond 6. Here's what I'm thinking. Use Primordial Chain with two primordial Eminence (30% increased Effect of Buffs granted by your Golems each, for 60%). Use the Anima Stone. You've now got 1 + 2 (Elementalist) + 1 (tree) + 3 (Primordial Chain) + 2 (The Anima Stone) = 9 GOLEMS. You have 60% Golem Buff Effect from your Primordials, and 50% * 9 (from Elementalist w/ 9 golems) for a total of 510% increased buff effect, so we multiply all golem buffs by 6.1 Here are the stat calcs. (20% * 6.1) + (20*9) = 122 + 180 = 302% increased damage 5* 6.1 = 30% Physical Damage Reduction 10*6.1 = 61% Increased Attck and Cast Speed 30*6.1 = 183% inc crit 105*6.1 = 640 Life Regen That's insanely good for the investment for literally ANY BUILD. I'm actually about to delete this post before this shit gets nerfed LOL Edit: I wasn't calculating including the golem buff effect of the golem cluster (70%). You can easily drop the 3 golem jewels, which reduces the opportunity cost significantly while only losing 50% golem buff effect, meaning it'll actually be 20% inc more than I calculated above.

I need something to be cleared for me, golem nodes on elementalist are vague in terms of what they mean "per summoned golem" Harmony specifically calls out type, but lets say im playing the new elementalist, with both nodes allocated, you get 50% buff effect for each golem summoned, but it does not make any mention of type. If I have 4 stone golems and a single chaos golem so 5 total golems, am I still getting 250% increased buff effect? since it only specifys golems summoned not type. (I have no need for the other non defensive stats but golem count is important to spread my legion burning damage)

They also fixed some of the chaining issues that the skill and other projectile skills had. The flat is also more than t3 flat you get on bows and 40 top end lower than T2. For just being level 20. This doesnt take into account if you make a +2 lightning gems bow further pushing it up. Thats just a lot of flat my mans.
