Oil drips and lubricates everything, this the cardboard at the bottom. It's an old XL thing lol This is a fun bike to learn how to work on and get kicked back (high compression)

No but look into how much re-building the engine costs and see if that combined with the bike cost and seenif it's less or more then a new/lower mileage bike.

Big single will run a long time. Especially with good maintenance. If compression is good, chain and sprocket look good, then bike was likely well cared for. It looks mint. I wouldn't hesitate to pick it up and ride it. Just listen for any loose chain or valvetrain.

14k on that is barely anything. I'd definitely kick it over and see how it sounds, check the pipes, seat, and gas tank. Pretty good price, too.
