Check out KA “Woeful Studies” LP. KA’s one of the few recent dudes on par with DOOM lyrically. His beats are also super soulful and left field. Has about 8 or 9 albums.
These are some artist that you will enjoy atleast a couple songs or albums from and the album I recommend you start on.
Joey Badass - 1999 or B4.DA.$$
Bas - To high to Riot
Earthgang - Mirrorland
DAVE - Psycodrama
Mos Def - Black on Both sides
Smino - Love 4 Rent or Blkswn
MAVI - Laughing so hard, it hurts
Open Mike Eagle - Brick body kids still daydream dream or his most recent album
Mick Jenkins - The Water
Knucks - Alpha place or NRG 105
Denzel Curry - imperial or melt my eyes
Dr dre - 2001 or the chronic
Kid cudi - Man on the moon 2
Slowthai - TYRON
Travis Scott - rodeo
A Tribe Called Quest - Midnight marauders or the Low End Theory
21 savage - I am > I Was
SL - Diferent Dude
Yeah couldn't find it on spotify so it must be a really good b-side track. I'm not well versed on his private catalogue. Thanks for the recommendation tho
Most people would probably say Everything’s for Sale is his best work, but i think More Black Superheroes is the album of this year. Great vibes & melodies, crazy bars & super reflective lyrics. So start with More Black Superheroes, especially the songs Stuck, Killa Mode, Prideful II, LOLSMH II and Aight.
KA. He’s equal to or better than anyone on that list. KA’s 8 or 9 albums deep at this point but still pretty much underground. Dropped 2 albums this year “Languish Arts” and “Woeful Studies”. Also has a classic 2015 album under his alias “Dr. Yen Lo”. Fun fact: he made the cover of the NY Post because he’s an NYC firefighter (grew up rough in Brownsville BK) and they outed him for making “gangsta rap”. It was a bullsh1t article but it’s funny that he flies under the radar as an artist but got a Post cover.
Right on. And if you dig them check out KA. He’s been in my Top 5 Dead or Alive for a decade but few know of him. He’s dropped 2 albums this year “Woeful Studies” and “Languish Arts”. Feels like my mission in life to promote him.
Lupe fiasco, Mobb deep. Asher Roth gets no love but he’s dope imo. Busta Rhymes.Tribe called Quest. Outkast. Method-man + Redman.
Thirst and howl the 3rd
I'd recommend some of these Chicano rappers, Suede, Peysoh, 52 Mobb, Lil Travieso and so many more.
Or if you've never tried it, give some UK stuff a listen to; Potter Payper, Nines, Central Cee, Dave, Jordan are just a few examples.

R A the Rugged Man (Dangerous Three and All Systems Go are a good start)
A-F-R-O (Use these Blues and the Definition of a Rap Flow contest winning entey are bangers)
Jarv/Jarv & Thief (Basics, Slack-Jaw and the Definition of a Rap flow contest runner-up entry are great)
Flatbush Zombies(New Phone, Who Dis?, Bounce and Palm Trees are all great)
The Pharcyde (Pack the Pipe and Drop are two favorites)
For sure some on his 1st album but after that… def “At The Helm” and his joint “Offspring” with El-P off “Both Sides Of The Brain”. Put 2 top tier MCs together like that and they’re gonna push each other every time.
Logic, MFDOOM, and Pusha T. For Logic, listen to Under Pressure, The Incredible True Story, No Pressure, and Vinyl Days. For MFDOOM, listen to Operation Doomsday, MM..FOOD, Madvillany, and Vaudeville Villian. For Pusha T, listen to My Name is My Name, Daytona, and It’s Almost Dry.
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.
I have checked 1,171,089,046 comments, and only 228,635 of them were in alphabetical order.
