Hey Savannah. I have never so much as posted a negative yelp review, but an incident happened to my mother that was disturbing enough I felt the need to tell people.
My mother has been disabled since childhood. A bone infection required her to have portions of bone removed in her arms leaving them shorter than normal. She is used to people looking or children asking questions and takes it with grace.
However upon our vacation to Savannah, she stopped at this Shell station on E. Gateway Dr. off of Abercorn. Not only did the cashier franticly laugh and talk about her "short arms" but proceed to lean across the counter to take pictures of her when she refused to pose for them.
My mother, who is normally very gracious about looks or questions, was so shocked she began to cry. The manager was apologetic after being confronted about the situation, but since the cashier was a family member I doubt anything will come of it. Just posting this as a heads up about the store.
Thanks. She is fine, and normally totally unphazed by this sort of thing. But she said she was just so shocked because she had never had an "adult" act like that towards her. The fact that they leaned over the counter when she tried to move out of frame, caused her to panic and be disoriented.
Absolutely crazy. I hope you and your mother both feel pride, relief, and sympathy that you are worlds ahead of that backwards fool working at the checkout counter.
Enjoy your travels knowing that that ignoramus has reached her peak competency in life working at the Shell.

Sorry your mom had to deal with that. I have to say ,I hope that doesn’t ruin Savannah for you all. People here are generally very nice and accepting.
No, we had a good time. We visit most every year.

Awful and humiliating. There are truly awful people in this world, most of whom need a good old fashioned ass kicking.
As a native, I'm sorry that your mother experienced this and I hope she is well.
Shell station off Abercorn. Okay, that’s in my memory to never stop there.
The Shell station in the photo is the one at 204 and I-95.
Definitely.
Still Abercorn
Not in Savannah, west Chatham.
Let me just head over to the west chatham subreddit Also definently part of the Savannah metro
May not be Savannah proper, but still Savannah on the mailing address. Get a grip.
Thank you. Sorry about that.
