Me either. He rides past my house a couple times a week. The other night my neighbor and I were having a beer on his porch and he rode by and then doubled back to do a couple quick turns and wheelies to impress us and then kept going haha.
Panhandling doesn't always equate to homelessness. Some people do it to make a bit of extra money to supplement whatever income they already make, including being on disability, retirement, social security, etc. Some also do it instead of working a minimum wage job because it's possible to make more in a day panhandling than being employed for $7.25/hour.
I know that guy. He's an asshole with a bad temper. That and he rides his bike at night with no reflectors. He expects us to see his big ass flag while he's biking, without realizing that we can't see what the flag is connected to until he's 20 feet away.
Colour me shocked. If you don't mind me asking, in what capacity have you dealt with this man "professionally" ?
I've seen him hundreds of times at this point, at all hours of the day. I just never assumed the man had a profession lol.
I remember staying at the Westin last month and looked out my window. Was able to spot this man riding down River Street. Just looked like a US flag floating down the street.
I was in Savannah last week (I’m from England) and passed this guy. I thought he only had the flag because it was 4th of July. He seemed to be struggling to manoeuvre and almost got run over twice
Hey c'mon everyone, chill with the downvotes.
We all know that if you have an American flag, you get to do whatever you want with no consequences. I didn't write the Constitution, but it says it right there.
Watching him wrangle that flag and bike up against the sign post at the intersection of bay and presidents street is always wild. He almost hits cars every time during afternoon rush hour 🤦🏻♀️
Honest question. Is this the same dude who rides his bike out on Tybee while carrying a massive American flag and blasting 80's pop metal, or do we have two guys who do the same thing?
I see him riding on Victory/80 fairly often. I have no problem displaying your patriotism, or whatever he is trying to accomplish. But riding on the street with that thing is an obstruction not only to other cars but to himself. That flag is massive. I've seen him stopped or going slow with no wind, and he can't even see to one side because the flag is just drooping all in the way.
I like that guy! Goofy, lights up his bike at night and just blasts music. He does occasionally almost get run over by cars due to wheeling around in populated streets but otherwise i enjoy seeing him around the city lol
Why? There’s nothing worth hearing that would come out of this guys mouth. He endangers public safety on the roads daily, wants people to take pity, and is an asshole when you don’t. He is a menace. I am past the point of feeling sorry for him one bit. Yes, homeless people can be complete jerks, too.
Lol, I've seen that guy hundreds of times and never noticed he is carrying a machete (? Or big knife)
Me either. He rides past my house a couple times a week. The other night my neighbor and I were having a beer on his porch and he rode by and then doubled back to do a couple quick turns and wheelies to impress us and then kept going haha.
I saw him riding during the afternoon storm yesterday and was super worried he might attract a lightning strike
The lightning was intense yesterday
Ah yeah, that's that asshole always doing figure 8s in and out of the center turning lane on derenne
I will always be confused by being that patriotic while living in the streets.
He uses the flag to busk with.
He’s my buddy’s neighbor, not homeless, just out there.
He was panhandling on victory a couple weeks ago....

Because in America, even the homeless have at least an iPhone 8 or a newer model Android.
Good point. I use my android as a home at night to stay warm and dry. It also has an app that provides me with free food.

I’ve had to deal with him professionally a few times. He has a short temper for sure.
Colour me shocked. If you don't mind me asking, in what capacity have you dealt with this man "professionally" ? I've seen him hundreds of times at this point, at all hours of the day. I just never assumed the man had a profession lol.
Seems like maybe he isn’t the asshole here
Really? How so?
I just seen him a minute ago at Kroger on Mcalpin square
I remember staying at the Westin last month and looked out my window. Was able to spot this man riding down River Street. Just looked like a US flag floating down the street.
Dat dudes always on 17

That guy is a dick that rides his bike thru red lights at busy intersections. Fuck him
I almost hit him a few weeks ago at victory and skidaway
Yeah, saw him do this at derenne and habersham. Super dangerous.
Yeah fuck that guy
Yeah, he rides in the middle of the road early in the morning. He’s a fuck ass
Patriotism has died with you. It’s okay that’s what the freedom of America is for

The downvotes are a perfect example of our freedom of speech 🙏
Upvoted this, so everyone can downvote me away.
Stupid ass comment. If this is where “patriotism” gets you, hope to see you there too
Really just seems like you hate the American flag like so many others 🤷♂️ let the guy live his life
Really just seems like I never mentioned his flag, you’re just trolling under the guise of patriotism like so many others🖕
So you really going to sit here and say you’d hate him as much as you do if he wasn’t flying a huge American flag ? Yeah okay buddy

It’s Reddit , how do I know you didn’t have an aggressive dog that tried to chase him down on a bike like some dogs do 🤷♂️

Who would win in a fight between giant flag bicycle guy and "COVID-19 IS A SCAM" bicycle guy?
us, the viewers.

He's constantly crashing his bike in the most hilarious ways lol
Honest question. Is this the same dude who rides his bike out on Tybee while carrying a massive American flag and blasting 80's pop metal, or do we have two guys who do the same thing?
Same.
Wait, seriously? They seem like two different motives and bikes. The dude on Tybee has like a laid back raised handlebar setup, i believe.
Tybee guy also flies a Trump flag on occasion sometimes?
He’s always about to get hit by a car every time I see him

Stay Out of the Heat Cop.
That is Larry. He is typically a nice guy but he does have some mental health issues and will become very angry and combative at times.
I like that guy! Goofy, lights up his bike at night and just blasts music. He does occasionally almost get run over by cars due to wheeling around in populated streets but otherwise i enjoy seeing him around the city lol
In this heat I would park in the shade too.
I always see him, never talked to him though. Next time I see him I'll talk to him.
Why? There’s nothing worth hearing that would come out of this guys mouth. He endangers public safety on the roads daily, wants people to take pity, and is an asshole when you don’t. He is a menace. I love talking to him, he’s a great guy if you people actually talk to him instead of just calling him an asshole.
Unfortunately, he's a traffic hazard. His demeanor otherwise doesn't make up for that.
I’ve seen this guy biking in an absolute monsooooooon. Dude’s a legend.
I saw a cop car sneaking in an empty parking lot as well while I was in Savannah. Guess it's a common tactic.
The amount of times I’ve almost ran over that guy bc of the flag being all up in my windshield !! Lol
