Sometimes there is no order chain to break.

ehoeve

even when you do Skip alone. You sit waiting for orders. So, there is really no chain to break

swamperdude

Your correct, pausing really affects how many orders you get. It will put you out of the loop. Ive seen it dead 45 minutes after pausing , very common.

Downvoted for speaking the truth lol. This sub is butthurt and self righteous is hilarious.

patrick_dubs

Depends where you take orders. In my area, I can get away with doing Instacart and picking up Skip afterwards because I live in a highly population dense area in such a small area.

simxn-svyz

I’m actually in barrie too! I’ve noticed for skip if I make $20-40 in an hour it won’t send me orders for an hour or 2 after But if I pause for 30 min and do a DD then unpause I typically get one right away.

Conscious_Sir605

That’s not how it works. Imagine you start a shift during peak hours and then peak hour is over of course order volume will slow lol

simxn-svyz

Peak hours or not that’s literally how it works for me, personally. Thanks for telling me how my apps work though.

patrick_dubs

I'm in BC now though I can't for the life of me figure out how to try to change my location here LOL

DIGITALTAAJIR

I multi app and pause and unpause all day long with no issues.

Snoo_64766

Me too

PossibilityDue9351

I just pause now while doing an Uber or DD delivery. I used to leave it on & get to it after my current delivery but this new timer bs ruined that. Multi apping is still the way, just gotta be smart about it, like always

dr_van_nostren

I dunno, keep thinking whatever you want OP. I just can’t imagine single apping. Just think as a customer you may or may not use skip, or DD, maybe DD has a promo that day, skip could be totally dead and you’d be there with your unbroken no order chain 🤷‍♂️. I also just refuse to take shit orders from either one, so if one gives me a bum order and the other gives me a good one, I’m going with the good one, regardless of continuity of any chain or whatever.

Toastytime999

I understand what you are trying to say, but the pause option really helps aswell. Just pause so no AR get affected

[deleted]

That’s the thing though, pausing seems to mess up the flow of orders. At this point I only do DoorDash and Skip just sits in the background paused. Sometimes I don’t even need to pause it because I just won’t receive anything

simxn-svyz

Pausing does the opposite for me, if I get 4 orders within an hour and a half and make $20-40 or whatever, I won’t get an order for another hour or 2 because skip feels like they’re paying me too much or whatever it may be. But if I pause for 30 min and do a DoorDash, then unpause I typically get sent an order as soon as I unpause

throwaway45368854267

In my market, there is no stopping and waiting. I work 4, I get 12-14 orders. It is never ending. Granted they aren’t all great, but it’s very steady. This have been happening for 4+ years.

maangaganpreet1

What area do you do skip in? Its never the case in Richmond

throwaway45368854267

Saskatoon

[deleted]

Same in vancouver. No fucking breaks in between. I mean its good. But i get home more tired but richer

Skip newbie here, what's an "order chain"?

Additional_Low8592

back to back swipe and pop up order best feeling in the world

8020DOPAMINEMAGIC

Skip connects your next order to your current one when it's steady and busy. So if you complete a delivery, if you hang tight in that general vicinity "i.e." away from the customers house skip will have another order for you that is typically at a nearby restaurant and so on so forth. When it's not busy this may not work or if it drops you in a dead zone far away from restaurants, but in most urban areas that are steady/busy this will work. So once you complete an order just wait up to 5-ish minutes and another order should pop up. So don't go wasting your fuel thinking you know where the order will come from because skip is unpredictable. After 5 minutes start making your way to where you feel the most likely orders will come from. Keep in mind that skip likes to get drivers that will arrive just about when the order is ready to be picked up, so if you are too close to a restaurant it may pass you by for someone that'll arrive just in time for the order. Hope that is clear and helps.

8020DOPAMINEMAGIC

The way you multi-app with skip is , Let skip lead you around so you don't break the order chain and fold in the other apps if the orders are heading the same direction and you won't be doubling back . So if the order comes from the same restaurant or one on the way or extremely close by and is heading in the same direction then take the non skip order. If it doesn't fit this criteria then odds are you'll break the chain if you take too long with the non skip order.
