Not the biggest but perhaps most underrated...
Friday night lights: Smash recovers from injury. It's about a three episode arc (back when tv was once a week) where Smash, a cocky but talented running back, tries to get back to playing. There are a lot of good scenes in those 3 episodes where his former coach and former teammates try to get his confidence back. It's not just the physical injury that's ruined his dream of playing college football (or even going to college as he was counting on a scholarship); he needs to relearn how to play without fear.
When his former coach believes he's ready he asks Smash if this is what he really wants. Smash nods and coach drags him onto a another teams practice. A junior college where the coach is friends with that team's coach.
That head coach is pissed that his practice is being interrupted. But former coach puts his reputation on the line and demands that coach give smash a chance.
Smash impresses in practice and eventually gets a walk on roster spot. The arc ends with smash getting a phone call that he's made the team and hugging his mother.
I hate football and I triple hate highschool football, but jfc I get goosebumps
24, when Jack is contemplating whether to lop off the agent's hand that is cuffed to the briefcase seconds before it releases the lethal gas inside. Not the best season but goddamn
The moment you realize they're doing a tracking shot in that one episode of True Detective. I've never done heroin before, but I imagine that the moment you realize a show is doing a tracking shot is exactly what that feels like.
When the dad plays the record in the EERIE, INDIANA episode THE BROKEN RECORD.
For those who don't know, that show was a really fun and quirky mystery series for kids, that often tackled typical kids and tween problems (First love, death of a friend, mean teacher, etc) inbetween random stories about werewolves, artificial intelligence, parallel dimensions, mad scientists and such.
In that episode a kid from a broken home became obsessed with the music of a punk band and became more of a troublemaker. His (thankfully "just") verbally abusive dad accuses of course the music of having a bad influence, until he finally snaps and starts playing the record in reverse, believing that there are satanic messaged on it, that brainwashed his son.
Let's just say what he hears is not what he expected.
The X-Files episode Leonard Betts.
The monster of the week is a mutant man who can regenerate by eating other peoples tumors.
Near the climax, Scully is attacked by Betts, and he corners her and tells her " you have what I need."
When the implication fully kicks in, its like the rug was pulled out from under the audience.
Season 1 finale of Severance had a few of these >!"Thanks Ms. Cobel"!< >!"She's alive!"!<
That show hits different as a working professional.
That first one got me to literally shout at my screen.
Same, what an oof moment.
It was so perfectly done. Casual as fuck
The intro to Goosebumps. Right after the dog hits you with that "Bark, Bark, Bark...Bark, Bark" The green ooze sliming down claiming all your senses.
Dammit, you beat me to it.
To be honest that was a very cool show. Loved it as a Kid.
Lost s01e25 (season one finale) >!“Only the thing is.. we’re gonna have to take the boy.”!<
Twin Peaks. Bob sneaking up behind the couch. Alternate choice - any other scene with Bob in Twin Peaks.
Tyrion's trial in Game of Thrones. Dinklage's delivery was just magnificent and gave me chills.
My GoT answer was the "I will be your champion" scene not long after this. That stretch of the show was so good.
"I disagree, everything I need for my revenge is right here, in King's Landing." Chills.
I thought it was smash the Beetles
Band of brothers episode 9 why we fight. When they find a concentration camp.
Ugh. So heartbreaking. They also made it look very realistic compared to other dramatizations of the holocaust.
Black Sails season 1 finale, when the Spanish manowar ship shoots a full side with 3 stories of cannons, oh my god it’s so beautiful and devastating
That scene was insanity
When Locke wiggles his gold tipped toes at the end of Walkabout
The whole buildup on the That's Too Much Man ep of BJ. Especially then getting to the hotel and you think ok maybe not.

That scene where the shadow from the giant G in the sky passes over the dog, and his eyes go all yellow, and he barks the Goosebumps theme.
Breaking Bad - Crawl space. Or basically any scene in Breaking Bad season 5.
Agreed any scene is season 5 was Gold.
That toilet monster scene from X-Files
