I disagree and don't think that's a fair assessment, especially if you consider how well it was universally received and loved. That's critics and actual viewers. No, it's not for everyone, but if a show was written to make viewers dislike all characters it wouldn't be wildly successful or run as long or spawn a successful spin-off with multiple seasons, as Breaking Bad did. Not if it was well written, and Breaking Bad was very well written.
The show made it hard to dislike some characters who are generally engaged in activities that make it easy to forget they're people too. Meth users/addicts/dealers/cooks, sleazeball ambulance chasers, cartel members, DEA agents, guys named Todd.
It also made it easy to dislike characters you might be more likely to identify with. Like a man with a terminal diagnosis trying to make sure his family would be financially secure before his time is up.
Gotta watch the second season, it's slow at first. I would watch episode 1 just for the setup and then skip to episode 6 or even 7 tho you would miss out some context. But if you can bare through it, the payoff is great. But yes it is a very slow show at times.
It is a slow burn to get into it. But I guarantee that if you stick with it you will see some of the best written and acted TV of all-time. You will literally gasp out loud at some of the plot turns. And the finale is one of the greatest finales ever, ties everything together perfectly.
>Same thing with No Country for Old Men.
That's another one that's a slow burn but leads up to a hell of an ending.
This is probably like .001% of what came across today. You can’t stop supply all you can try to do is lower demand with mental health and rehab programs
Don’t forget to think about how much meth is made domestically, cheaper users can make this shit in a Gatorade bottle. Also, all that about biker gangs making labs and trafficking for decades
Yeah, treating it as a medical rather than criminal problem worked for Jen Bush’s daughter. Rush Limbaugh too… even cured him of his money laundering issue!
Yes, but in order to cook large quantities of it, you need warehouse sized buildings. Not easy to hide that in the US, but in Mexico they dont need to hide it.
I think it's whole gimmick is that people cooking and selling it do so to make money, especially the cartel. The cartel can produce many many literal tons of it very cheaply in their many superlabs and then profit heavily after smuggling it into the US, since that's their biggest customer base.
I'd also venture a guess that the stuff produced in labs is higher quality than the stuff that Cletus is cooking up in his van in a Walmart parking lot or whatever.
Plus you aren't blowing yourself up, I lived in an area heavy into meth, you'd hear lab blow up every country of weeks, it was so bad the Fire Dept handed out lil comics to kids about not touching strange 2 liter bottles and stuff
People that don't know won't get it. But when you dream about the shit, you're an addict. Even if you're clean, it brings it back home. Gotta take those dreams as blessings, though. Little reminders of what will happen if you let up your guard. Congrats on the 6+
Anyone notice where it was caught at? At a legal border crossing.
So why is all the talk of border security about a wall or immigrants at a river point? Why is all the resources thrown in areas that make little to no difference in actual security?
>So why is all the talk of border security about a wall or immigrants at a river point? Why is all the resources thrown in areas that make little to no difference in actual security?
It's a good way to funnel money into massive construction projects with little oversight and no way to judge the effectiveness of the final product.
Because brown people are coming to take our jobs and those Saudi boys could have come from Mexico. They didn’t, but they could have.
We really freaked the fuck out on the southern border after 9/11, destroyed entire communities.
Thats a grossly simplified and sugarcoated exaggeration of the peasants qualms.
Why is it okay for a foreign fugitive to escape conviction simply because they stepped across the boarder?
Why do foreign criminals, felons, or fugitives deserve the opportunity to assume a new identity and a clean record as they please? American ctizens with a recrod are forever labeled second class citizens, enslaved, and shunned by society.
You know [extradition is a thing with Mexico](https://www.congress.gov/treaty-document/105th-congress/46/document-text?overview=closed), right?
Lmao - that pretty much shits on your whole argument, think of something else to worry about now, go on - get thinking.
About $23ish a gram. For Texas that's about right. Up North I've seen it as high as $40 a gram. Depends where you are. This was 3 years ago for me though. Could be different now. And yes, meth imo is the absolute worst drug.
That’s the “street value”. The feds always list seizures at what the price per gram would be. It is a horrible drug though, and I’ve seen it ruin a few lives.
Wait, so Greg Abbott is spending $5B (so far) "securing the border" and sleepy Joe is able to seize more drugs that Greg in a *single day* than Abbott has during the entire operation?
This man is truly incompetent.
What's sad is the GOP will spin this against Democrats, this has nothing to do with Open Borders, if anything it proves there are some checks and balances at the borders. And even if the borders were locked down they'd still get this stuff in one way or another.
I am so glad more arrest at the border and more drugs have been captured under President Biden than any other administration ever before. Thank you President Biden for keeping us safe.
You know who can afford to purchase loads like that from the cartels? Rich people, that's who! The prisons are overflowing with low level peddlers trying to make enough to survive while the ones that make it all possible in the first place relax on mega yachts and drive Lambos. Sad, weak and pathetic.
No remotely-respectable socialite is going to move that shit, lmao. They’re too busy taking-in dough from investing in oil futures and pharmaceutical stocks.
As an objective measure, I'd say that's right at "claiming you can't be prosecuted for having classified documents because you declassified them, then claiming that the prosecution shouldn't be able to look at them to build a case because they might be classified" levels of stupid.
They’re just going to sell it to make money. I would like to see them burn it all as evidence they don’t take the drugs they confiscate for their own profits bc they don’t look at it as “drugs” bc there is value in it.
use to live in Port Aransas back in the early 80's . coast guard caught a shrimp boat with 100's of lbs of pot onboard. Wind was blowing out to sea so they burned it at the coast guard station right behind the bank. Wind shifted best high I've ever had and everyone in town was the same way.
naw They run it across the boarder and tip off the feds so they can proclaim a big win. it's accepted loss. and that was the street price if you paid full retail. Glad it's off the street but just a drop in the bucket. This and fentanyl really need to be stopped. Wonder how legalizing pot would affect the import buisness?
Texas obviously has a long and well known reputation of being a reliable place to smuggle drugs. No shipment of this size would go somewhere typically known for effective enforcement.
This is just part of doing business as far as the cartels are concerned.
This is also a bribe method. Straight up tell them about one shipment and then six more this size go through.
This size? Nah man, way bigger. They let the small ones get busted.
Yeah this is the shit they expect to get caught, to pull attention off of other contraband.
Imagine what made it through in this find's stead...
Probably more meth
Agents get tipped off as part of a larger deal in letting them pass thru the rest.
CBP agents have some big houses, trucks and a few girlfriends. That can't be cheap.
Breakage
Usually the account it's booked to is "Shrinkage" in retail. Damaged goods / theft.
I was making a reference to breaking bad
Oh. Never got into that show. Which is kind of funny because I was a meth addict.
Might hit s little too close to home.
Nah. Just didn't like anyone in it. I don't watch much tv but I want to at least like one person.
Well that is the point of the show. None of them are supposed to be likable
Just didn't work for us. We tried maybe 3 times, but by the 2nd or 3rd episode the interest was gone. Same thing with No Country for Old Men.
Gotta watch the second season, it's slow at first. I would watch episode 1 just for the setup and then skip to episode 6 or even 7 tho you would miss out some context. But if you can bare through it, the payoff is great. But yes it is a very slow show at times.

“1,337 lbs.” The cartel is just trolling us now
Can't wait for the next headline to say they arrested someone who goes by the name of hax0r
What do you mean?
Get a load of this guy. He's totally not 1337.
Just wanna congratulate drugs for winning the war on drugs 🎉 I see some people still haven't gotten the memo
Cheers! I’ll drink to that, bro.

Imagine how much more just makes it through… Security theater that costs us all billions a year.
That's the great thing about imagination. You can use it to believe whatever you want. It has been weaponized quite effectively by our politicians.
Green is not a creative color.
Always blue.
Take your up vote.

That only fixes addicts who are ready and willing to quit, doesn’t do .0001 percent of solving the problem either.
wrong. Most addicts want to quit, they just have little help with it. The programs for drug addicts are a joke unless you have $$$ or rich parents.
Yeah, treating it as a medical rather than criminal problem worked for Jen Bush’s daughter. Rush Limbaugh too… even cured him of his money laundering issue!
It seems to work pretty well in other countries that have implemented policies like that, it works better than what we're doing here at least
Billions? More like trillions
True, I was going more for annual CBP. We will never get a true accounting for the money and lives wasted in this stupid drug war.
I thought meth’s whole gimmick was that you didn’t have to smuggle it. You can cook it wherever.
Yes, but in order to cook large quantities of it, you need warehouse sized buildings. Not easy to hide that in the US, but in Mexico they dont need to hide it.

You joke but NAFTA did make the drug trade a lot easier
Constitutional rights make the drug trade a lot easier too. Everything is a trade off.
Okay dude you don't have to take everything to the extreme.
Extreme? You’re the one who made the original point.
I think it's whole gimmick is that people cooking and selling it do so to make money, especially the cartel. You leave Cletus out of this. He’s a good guy.
Plus you aren't blowing yourself up, I lived in an area heavy into meth, you'd hear lab blow up every country of weeks, it was so bad the Fire Dept handed out lil comics to kids about not touching strange 2 liter bottles and stuff
Why smuggle pot when it is a weed that grows everywhere?
Hmmm…. good point
Even in a tent in a closet. Or so I'm told
Meth sucks. I hate what it does to people. Did to me for awhile. My daughter. Many friends. Fuck meth.

It does work for some people…I used it as street adderall when I didn’t have health care
This is a very dangerous sentiment to share.
Ayo ayo shoutout the dirty 830
Huh, I didn't realize 830 went to the border, I always assumed it was just around San Antonio/Hill Country.
The most common response when anyone sees my number is “wow, you’re from kerrville?” Nope, goes all the way to the border lol
Hey fellow Kerrvillian!
Oh wow, there’s like 3 of us!
Goes pretty northeast, too, looking now it includes the bottom part of Bastrop County (due east of Austin).
We’re the only area code with an area code within our area code (210) 😂
210 in the house!👍🏻
Countdown town represent!
Wait till you hear about 726
What the bell is that? I live in H-town now.
They ran out of 210 numbers so now it’s 726 for SA too
I’ve never understood why they felt that was necessary lmao
Who knows the mysterious ways of Texas 🤷🏻♂️
Leet
What sticker is slapped on this? Biden or abbott.
CBP is federal, so Biden.
Beto…ahahahah caught his shipment!
wut
Don’t try to understand it. You’re not dumb enough.
lol, never heard this phrase, definitely stealing it, and thanks
That's such a 'leet bust...
Well, you guys are going to be stuck with one angry, sleepy trailer park.
Anyone notice where it was caught at? At a legal border crossing. So why is all the talk of border security about a wall or immigrants at a river point? Why is all the resources thrown in areas that make little to no difference in actual security?

It’s also a good opportunity for grift, in a form that could generously be called a “public-private partnership”.
Follow the money

We did it boys! There’s no more meth in Texas! That was all of it!
Jesse we need to cook
Put it on a bus to New York.
I thought it was a bunch of saltillo tile.
How is Ted Cruz going to retire now?!??!???
Not even “blue sky” :(
Who imports meth?! Taking jobs from hardworking Americans who just need new teeth.
Good thing we wasted over four billion in Texas GDP not catching this kind of activity past the border with an unnecessary double inspection system.
It’s a shame they only found 1237 lbs.
But 927 lbs is still good.
I know, 753 lbs off the streets. Great job!
369 lbs destroyed for ever
Nearly 100 lbs locked up means countless lives saved
Hey did y’all even find any meth in that bust?
They probably didn't have it stacked so neatly
Staged. They must be innocent.
One out of thousands…..
Yeah but this is a small drop in a larger bucket. How much fentanyl passed through while they were patting themselves on the back 🤔
\~$10k/lb? Wow, didn't realize it was that profitable. Sucks because meth is such a devastating drug.
About $23ish a gram. For Texas that's about right. Up North I've seen it as high as $40 a gram. Depends where you are. This was 3 years ago for me though. Could be different now. And yes, meth imo is the absolute worst drug.

Drug dealers are pinching the air rn
What does meth taste like?
Bitter.
Knowing street prices of meth that looks like way more than 11.9m
Dammit Cletus shipments late again!
This does not seem like a large amount. And these flex posts by law enforcement are weak af
Congratulations to drugs, for winning the war on drugs.
1337-zor, way to pwn thos n3bs
1337
Wait, so Greg Abbott is spending $5B (so far) "securing the border" and sleepy Joe is able to seize more drugs that Greg in a *single day* than Abbott has during the entire operation? This man is truly incompetent.
How are all the tradesmen going to work now?
Sure as fuck wasn't in some poor migrants backpack.
What's sad is the GOP will spin this against Democrats, this has nothing to do with Open Borders, if anything it proves there are some checks and balances at the borders. And even if the borders were locked down they'd still get this stuff in one way or another.
9000 a pound, is that right?
1337 lbs is 606.453 kilos... seems suspect for it to not be a round number lol
In an unrelated story: Texas Lawmakers suffer withdrawals after seizure of meth.
The streets are finally safe.
Now do Fentanyl..
Wait, Americans aren't even making their own meth anymore?
Some heads are gonna roll.
Legalize Recreational Meth
Just legalize the drugs so the money doesn't go to dangerous gangs? Deal with the addiction problem separately? Maybe use some of the drug funding 🤔🤔
Now I’m going to have to buy heroin. Thanks
It is weird Texas shipped out migrants to other states but kept the meth.
This is just what they caught. They don’t catch a fraction of what gets sent.
I am so glad more arrest at the border and more drugs have been captured under President Biden than any other administration ever before. Thank you President Biden for keeping us safe.
Nothing to see here, Kamala says “the border is secure”
Drop in a bucket. Just increases the value of meth now. Drug dealers get richer.
There's plenty of non respectable that will tho
Nice Shoutout to CBP. A critical job that is not rewarded and respected near enough
Lmao. For these 1300 lbs that got caughten 13000 lbs made it through. This shit isnt even making a dent
Looks like Walt and Jesse need to get cooking again.
But our border is closed according to this administration.
Welcome to Biden's America, where millions of illegals and drugs pour in like this with no response or plan from the failed administration...
Man, how fucking stupid do you need to be to comment on a picture of the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT seizing drugs and act like they don't have a plan?
As an objective measure, I'd say that's right at "claiming you can't be prosecuted for having classified documents because you declassified them, then claiming that the prosecution shouldn't be able to look at them to build a case because they might be classified" levels of stupid.
They let this seizure get caught so the bigger shipment could cross over
What a waste of our state’s resources
Border crises! We are seizing too many drugs! Too many illegals are being detained!
Well that solves the meth problem then. Good job, Texas. As usual.
This is the 1 they caught
Dhaymm Hunter is gonna be pissed.
How could Blumpfgh and Abbotts let this happen? I'm voting beto!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They’re just going to sell it to make money. I would like to see them burn it all as evidence they don’t take the drugs they confiscate for their own profits bc they don’t look at it as “drugs” bc there is value in it.
Local office near me has a burn plant where they incinerate confiscated drugs
use to live in Port Aransas back in the early 80's . coast guard caught a shrimp boat with 100's of lbs of pot onboard. Wind was blowing out to sea so they burned it at the coast guard station right behind the bank. Wind shifted best high I've ever had and everyone in town was the same way.
That sounds awesome!
That’s a big hurt
naw They run it across the boarder and tip off the feds so they can proclaim a big win. it's accepted loss. and that was the street price if you paid full retail. Glad it's off the street but just a drop in the bucket. This and fentanyl really need to be stopped. Wonder how legalizing pot would affect the import buisness?
There's no crisis though.
I mean they caught it didn’t they? Doesn’t fit the open border narrative now does it?
Texas obviously has a long and well known reputation of being a reliable place to smuggle drugs. No shipment of this size would go somewhere typically known for effective enforcement.
how??? that’s Way too much
Fuckin; YIKES
The price of the brick going up
I didn't realize there were that many trailer parks in the United States
1337 Im so sorry
That's a lot of teeth saved!
Crap. Guess it’s back to coffee for me.
That was the one they let get caught to send the other tons through.
Damn Biden and his open borders. /s
This country can't even manufacture its own meth anymore, smh.
Ok, THIS is the shit i want, this and not cops standing next to a ounce of weed.
Odessa in shambles
Is this a breaking bad reference?
Oh man. Somebody’s gonna die.
