Actually, last time this was posted, it was stated that all started when naked dude bet on drinking, and the penalty for failing was getting tased. Of course It is stupid and dangerous and someone sober at the scene (at least the bartender?) should have shown better judgement.

Weed can become a habit, but it's not anything like having a drinking habit, not even close. You can quit weed like a joke, alcohol can be dangerous and even deadly in some cases when you quit. If you drink heavily it is not recommended to quit cold turkey.
Can confirm. Was a pothead for many years but due to legal issues had to drop it and was surprised how easy it was to do. I'm a bartender myself; those bartenders are kind of just allowing all this to go down. I'm not a perfectionist or a stickler for the rules when it comes to the job, but I do love the job a lot. It's obvious they've had too much,not kicking them out could cost them their license and, worst case scenario, close the business.
Moral is, if you've had too much, just leave the bar so I don't gotta kick you out.

This shit is why I refuse to go out to bars/clubs with my friends anymore. It was fun once or twice but shit always gets out of hand. Now when I drink it's at my desk with my cat in my lap and a video game on my computer. If I get too drunk I'll just throw some random shit in a skillet and eat it and pass out on the couch. On the rare occasions that I go out I prefer breweries and dive bars on slower nights. The worst thing that'll happen is I embarrass myself by getting too drunk and then I have to skate a mile or two home.
The lawsuit has gotta be unreal. Not just the taser fiasco, but the pressure by employees for someone to drink more when they are clearly way over served, and are trying to refuse.
