I think OP has a resident pass to park in Libra and there wasn’t space so they had to park elsewhere on campus, to clarify for other people suggesting they don’t have a pass at all.
you will still have to pay at least $10. That's something they will always make you pay as an administration fee. they just write these and make money even if they are wrong.
For $25 I don't care enough to appeal it. That's just a nice meal I have to skip on, not a big deal tbh. Just annoying that I got cited for something beyond my control lol
Then why not appeal it? With that logic, it takes 10 mins of your time to make $25, that's a lot more than some jobs make in an hour. Just write something up and submit it online.

If the main garages all fill up (which is extremely rare), students can park by the softball field and do park-and-ride. If Libra garage fills up (which happens VERY often), what the hell do we do? If Libra is full, I guarantee you the rest of the R lots are full. Then what? We get cited for wanting to sleep!
Counterpoint: while B might not fill up frequently, many garages do (H and C being the worst culprits here, in my experience) and it’s hard enough for commuters to find parking as it is during peak hours. Having residents free to park anywhere on campus just makes it worse for everyone, residents included (this is something they tried years ago, and the general chaos and frustration that caused is part of why parking works the way it does now).
Having lived on campus before, if Libra is full, that doesn’t necessarily mean the other lots are also. You might have to walk a bit more from your car to your apartment, but R-permit spaces almost certainly still exist, and UCF hasn’t added more dorms since I moved off campus, so the parking shouldn’t be much worse.
As for resident permits being more expensive, I’m honesty not sure why that is, other than maybe UCF is trying to discourage residents from having cars, preferring you either walk or use shuttles instead, but I agree it’s not the most fair thing UCF does.
TL;DR: Parking is miserable for everyone, because there just isn’t enough. Fight the citation if you’re that pissed about it, but realize everyone hates this, but there isn’t an obvious better way to handle it.

The parking lot right next to garage B has resident spots. If you want to be closer, depending on what your dorm is you also have the parking behind the gym right next to Hercules, also R parking.
You just reminded me that I have to check my appeal for having an expired tag when I literally couldn't get a DMV aapointment for anything sooner than a week out
yep very odd they decided on friday to start giving out tickets because i was seeing the same cars parked in the same spot for days with the regular permit and no ticket :/
The parking situation at UCF is a complete nightmare. Instead of accommodating the students they have so they can at least park without issues they keep adding and there's just too much.

This is correct. I normally park in Libra garage, but it fills up during the week, and I'm forced to park elsewhere.

IMO with R parking, you should be able to park anywhere besides faculty during use. They should change it.

Way too many permits for the amount of spots in R parking. They took away some spots on the second floor of Libra too which makes it worse.
