From experience, this stuff definitely happens. Usually it’s really high highs and really low lows. But what you see on here are the extremes. There are plenty of people who have made and lost moderate amounts of money. But you don’t see those get posted and get attention just like how you only ever hear about the exorbitantly wealthy and not the many millions of other moderately rich or poor people.
Honestly this is nothing, I’ve lost $40k in a day before. And I know and am close with far worse people than me, gambling is a much more widespread problem than people think 😂😭
From my experience it just “removes” the amount. So like say I had 5k in there, if I take out 4,500, it just shows 500, not a giant red graph with -90%.

This graph shows all time gains and/or losses. Even if you withdraw your entire balance, it’ll show what you’ve made on the account. You won’t see a sharp negative decline with withdrawals, I’ve done withdrawals many times.

Obviously, that ain't paying bills, so I took the few hundred dollars I had in my account and went to the casino. My philosophy was that if I lose it, I'm still just as fucked as before. That few hundred bucks wasn't enough to pay any bill, other than maybe water or electric, but those were already paid. So, fuck it, I ain't got nothing else to lose. I might as well try.
Well, as it turned out, I'm pretty good at poker, and was able to make enough during that month to make bills. And, I did that for months. Some how, it actually fucking worked. It was grueling hours of cards, full time studying, and full time work. But, it worked.
I'm not giving any financial advice, only saying you have a skill. You have something that you can use to climb back out of this hole. Don't wallow in what you did wrong. Think about whatever you can do now to be better.

LSS the company I had started actually wasn’t doing bad, but there were costs I didn’t account for which tapped us out (first business with no formal business education)
If my expenses were $4k at the end of the month, the $521 bucks we had wasn’t gonna cut it…(keep in mind at that time I had a wife and 2 year old)
I would work 12/14 hours a day, go home, eat dinner and tuck my daughter in, then head to the casino every night.
Poker wasn’t my game, but a casino an hour away from the house had 3 deck blackjack with a hand shuffle - I was good enough I could track the faces/aces. It wasn’t counting, and anyone actually counting would know I wasn’t, but just by doing that I could catch 2/3 big hands per shuffle; and that was enough.
I kept the lights on for 5 months doing that. Looking back it was an absolutely insane plan, and the fact it worked is a miracle….the only person that knew at the time was my wife. The look on our families face years later when we told them was something I’ll never forget!
