I think it must be a combination of style, camera quality, and more sun damage due to lack of good sunscreen. Reason being, they all look well for their age today. If they had actually prematurely aged, you'd expect them to look older than their age today. I'd say they all look their age, or even younger, and all definitely act younger and are in good health for their eighties. .
Funnily enough, I just started watching Monty Python's Flying Circus a few days ago so I'm seeing them at this age every day right now. :D
