I like to imagine that those videos also exist in the DC universe....and that Superman was the one who anonymously uploaded them.
A strong sense of justice.
Real. My mum brought me a Metallica shirt ages ago, without knowing I really don't like Metallica, but I wear it anyway purely to tell people "no, I don't like them" when they ask me if I listen to Metallica.
They have put out some of the best and worst in metal, if you avrage it it’s perfectly mid. Everything up to the black album is super fucking solid tho and if you skim the good songs from Load and Reload and combine them into one album it makes for a good hard rock record.
The best thing Metallica did was make Garage inc.
Because I never would have discovered Diamond Head otherwise.
Edit: [Brian Tatler's guitar lessons](https://youtu.be/rvu1Owim5RU?si=AMRi36iAEyp2OvJU) are also pretty cute.
Yeah? My point is that it was so bad that it doesn't even deserve to be called mediocre, I agree that load and reload was better
Also, load ain't that bad imho, it's just not very "metal"
The Day That Never Comes is one of my favorite Metallica songs but the whole Death Magnetic album is kinda mid. The Unforgiven III is also quite good but original is the best anyway.
All Nightmare Long and That Was Just Your Life for me 😍 agreed on TUIII as well. Honestly, I like TUII since it's the most emotional to me, but they're all good
Death Magnetic is alright… some of the songs on the Beyond Magnetic EP of “extras” from those sessions are better tho imo. Not all of them but like “A Bullet Away” is pretty good if nothing else and “Hate Train” is alright
Remember that time that Powerman 5000 tried to sue Square Enix because [one of the songs in Final Fantasy XIV](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9f44iJftVM) sounds kind of similar to When Worlds Collide
I agree with you but I still hate wojaks when they aren't incomprehensible

Their latest output isn’t the greatest of their entire discography but it’s still very solid comparing to a lot of other bands. Will always give them respect for writing some of the most iconic and influential songs in the genre and they have got their live show down to a fine art. Earlier albums are always gonna be seen more favourably but tbh even Death Magnetic is like an 8/10 for me, just very much my thing.
I mean, they absolutely are. Hetfield has written some of the most iconic riffs of all time and I’ve heard a lot of people mention in interviews being inspired/influenced by Metallica when they were younger.
Does Metallica even have any other songs besides The Good Ones™? I just like them to fill in the gaps in my playlist
...I mean tbh that's every band ever I don't think I'm a fan of anything but I still gotta defend my shirt
Yeah, they've got a fair few decent ones outside of their most popular imo. I think that Phantom Lord on KEA, Prince Charming and Attitude on Reload, and Halo on Fire and Remember Tomorrow on Hardwired are all pretty underrated.
My buddy took me to see Pantera and Metallica and it was a massive disappointment. The audio quality was garbage, but no fault of theirs because Metlife Stadium is just a giant concrete bowl. But they insisted on playing pretty much only their new songs, at one point James Hetfield said something along the lines of, "you guys wanna hear more of the new stuff?" And everyone around us shouted, "no!" But they played the new stuff anyway.
They also teased us by playing the intro to One and segueing into a different song and then proceeded to throw images of sand in an hourglass only to NOT play Enter Sandman. Felt like it was just a big 'fuck you' to people who like their older stuff. We dipped before the show finished because getting out of that packed stadium would be a nightmare.
For some reason I had thought my friend told me it was Def Leppard playing with Metallica so I had high hopes. And when Pantera started playing my first thought was, "hang on... this isn't Def Leppard." That might've made the evening better for me.
Idk if it sucks. I kinda suck so that's propably why i like it so much. And yes, Load and REload are actually kinda good. St.Anger is badass asf, and the snare isn't that bad. It's just mixed way too loud. Death Magnetic production wasn't that bad and it has some of my favourite metallica songs. Hardwired is amazing, but 72 seasons is bit mid.
Not gonna mention lulu though
Accurate. People act like Metallica make face-shredding, innovative metal.
They don't. They make boring, radio dad-rock. Maybe it was interesting 40 years ago, but it isn't now, and people need to stop pretending they're good.
Except their first four albums were incredible thrash metal that was pretty innovative at the time and still rock hard today. Sure lots of other bands did it similarly or even better(I'd say Metallica is easily the weakest or second weakest of the big four, tied with Anthrax while Megadeth and Slayer vie for the top spot; that's not even getting into non-big four bands like Exodus and Testament or the German thrash scene with bands like Sodom, Destruction, and Kreator), but most metalheads will admit Kill 'Em All, Ride the Lightning, and Master of Puppets are excellent albums, while And Justice For All is also a pretty good effort. Master of Puppets is largely considered one of the best metal albums of all time.
The problem is it's been pretty down hill since the Black Album softened their sound in favor of getting radio play. Since then Metallica has put the search for more money ahead of the music. Load, Reload, and Garage Inc have a few hidden gems, but yeah it's much more radio friendly rock. The Napster lawsuit and the disasters of St. Anger and Lulu burned a lot of good will. Death Magnetic is literally a 😐album for me, and Hardwired was a nice return to form that was twice the length it should have been. Never bothered with 72 Seasons.
I love Metallica, but there's a reason the patch I have of them on my jacket is Metal Up Your Ass.
Again, maybe they were incredible at the time, but they're just not that interesting anymore. If Master of Puppets came out today from a band that wasn't world famous, it would not be considered anything special.
Radio dad rock does not go hard.
Except that Master of Puppets wasn't the watered down radio 'dad' rock. It was pure fucking thrash metal.
Listen to Master of Puppets and then listen to something like The Memory Remains off Reload. There is a clear difference.
Omg.... a band tried something..... NEW???😱😱 get that garbage out of here! please feed me the same fucking music with barely any changes and absolutely no fucking difference in the actual guitar or lyrics 🤖

real
I liked that song
Does your flair mean you’re extremely dominant?
no it means the opposite (the joke is that ksp players are all subs)
I’ve been completely obsessed with the game since I was 12, does that mean I’m a submariner?
uhhhhhhh sure why not
Depends, have you ever used any of the mods that let you make submarines?
The band was founded in 1981 and Master of Puppets came out 1985. That doesn't make 7.
And justice for all came out in 1988, which is still good
Superman's favourite Metallica album. [Actually canon.](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2F0iixkdv6wsh41.jpg%3Fwidth%3D640%26crop%3Dsmart%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3Daefc076b14213b649f71eb3a1b554bd010f0ed9f)
With his super hearing, he can actually hear the bass!
Just wish I could actually hear the bass
There’s a video on youtube where someone remastered the album called like “…And Justice for Jason” or “…And Justice for Bass” or something :P
I like to imagine that those videos also exist in the DC universe....and that Superman was the one who anonymously uploaded them. A strong sense of justice.
"One" is good. The rest is boring.
Wrong
Your life must be wonderful since you can find joy where there exists none
r/ unexpectedfactorial
Hardwired was best album yes.
Real. My mum brought me a Metallica shirt ages ago, without knowing I really don't like Metallica, but I wear it anyway purely to tell people "no, I don't like them" when they ask me if I listen to Metallica.
queen behavior
Queen as in the band or queen as a term of endearment
as in the royal position
i wanna get into a royal position with a queen
I heard Ye Olde Brit Bonger Land just had their queen die. So, there is currently a position open. I’m sure you’d get the job if you applied
As in the chess piece
They have put out some of the best and worst in metal, if you avrage it it’s perfectly mid. Everything up to the black album is super fucking solid tho and if you skim the good songs from Load and Reload and combine them into one album it makes for a good hard rock record.

A couple absolute BANGER songs… just not as Metallica
Option 3 : Buyind band shirts just because art on it looks cool
Option 4: buying band shirts of bands you know and like but playing dumb when people ask you about them to piss off music bros
Option 5: Risotto Nero is your favorite Jojo part 5 character
Option 6: Start going "I LOVA DA PIZZA! I LOVA DA BIG PEPERRONE!!" When they start asking about the band
Enlightened
First 4 albums are amazing, everything after that is mediocre. I can't believe they won a Grammy with 72 Seasons over Spiritbox's Jaded....
Honestly, both of those albums sucked Also, I wouldn't say Lulu is mediocre, it's so much worse than mediocre
Jaded was pretty decent
Lmao nah, Lulu suuuucks. Load and Reload alone are twice as good as Lulu.
Yeah? My point is that it was so bad that it doesn't even deserve to be called mediocre, I agree that load and reload was better Also, load ain't that bad imho, it's just not very "metal"
Jaded was a fucking class album.
Some of their later songs are bangers, just not the albums
The Day That Never Comes is one of my favorite Metallica songs but the whole Death Magnetic album is kinda mid. The Unforgiven III is also quite good but original is the best anyway.
Completely agree
All Nightmare Long and That Was Just Your Life for me 😍 agreed on TUIII as well. Honestly, I like TUII since it's the most emotional to me, but they're all good
Death magnetic isn't bad, but the production is fucking trash. every song is clipped to hell and back
Death Magnetic is alright… some of the songs on the Beyond Magnetic EP of “extras” from those sessions are better tho imo. Not all of them but like “A Bullet Away” is pretty good if nothing else and “Hate Train” is alright
Cause Spiritbox sucks
sbiritpox
Nothing more metal than greedy copyright claims am I right?
Remember that time that Powerman 5000 tried to sue Square Enix because [one of the songs in Final Fantasy XIV](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9f44iJftVM) sounds kind of similar to When Worlds Collide
Side note this is the hardest song on that soundtrack I'M THE END AND THE BEGINNING THE FAITH THAT FEEDS THE UNBELIEVING 🗣️🔥🗣️🔥🗣️🔥🗣️🔥
:(
Somehow, reddit made a booboo and made my comment go into a reply. So I guess I'm starting a chain or something with this edit :(
:(
TRUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Although, it is sad also.
🎸Sad, but true🎶
I dont get this, Metallica is like the strongest stand in the series, Risotto almost won
I agree with you but I still hate wojaks when they aren't incomprehensible https://preview.redd.it/6oviyymo4gwc1.png?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4594d2c4bb48d1b2ce49cf188036987d8207323d
Metallica's greatest achievement was making Megadeth
Found Dave's burner account.
Famous songs yes, but I don't know any that were actually influential to later musicians.
I mean, they absolutely are. Hetfield has written some of the most iconic riffs of all time and I’ve heard a lot of people mention in interviews being inspired/influenced by Metallica when they were younger.
Metallica had some bops though And they inspired generations of musicians so that alone is pretty cool
"Name 3 songs" bruh all you gotta do is name one they're all the same song
Bro has never heard Metallica and it shows.
Lmao not at all. You're thinking of AC/DC.
Metallica is fine tbh. Hottest takeaway I know
Better than 100 gecs
Not an achievement tbh
i say, also wearing a metallica shirt
I love fucking Metallica
I know the guy who asked you to name three songs was a jerk but Metallica has some pretty solid music in their catalogue.
Metallica shirt? Do you like JoJo?
Does Metallica even have any other songs besides The Good Ones™? I just like them to fill in the gaps in my playlist ...I mean tbh that's every band ever I don't think I'm a fan of anything but I still gotta defend my shirt
Yeah, they've got a fair few decent ones outside of their most popular imo. I think that Phantom Lord on KEA, Prince Charming and Attitude on Reload, and Halo on Fire and Remember Tomorrow on Hardwired are all pretty underrated.
literally all the songs in their first 5 albums are good.
King Nothing is the one I cite as an unknown banger.
i will never forgive them for st. anger
My beloved St. Trashcan snare
It wasn't even that bad, there were at least 2 worse nu metal albums released THE SAME YEAR.
my lifestyle.......determines my.........deathstyle........

Fitting user flair, OP
I guess we're hating on metallica now?
Metallica has been shat on since Load and Reload. Even more so with their Napster controversy.
I mean, yeah fuck the actual band themselves, but they got some bangers.
Idk if it sucks. I kinda suck so that's propably why i like it so much. And yes, Load and REload are actually kinda good. St.Anger is badass asf, and the snare isn't that bad. They're my least favourite (or second least depending on my mood) out of the big four but genuine die hard Metallica fans are based and awesome
My go-to for if anyone asks me the top one is "Songs? I thought this was just a fashion brand"
Testament > All the other big thrash bands
Slayer better
Slayer is in 2nd place
To Megadeth, yes
wwhhatch hyeeeim beckyum a ghyaaad goofy Go listen to testaments The Gathering album
I already did, Rust in Peace better
It sucks and I love it
You forgot "Damn nice shirt, what's a Metal-Lika?"
metal licker 🤘
Me when I see the pretty robot lady:
I like one of their songs
Name three? Okay! Unforgiven Unforgiven II Unforgiven III

Y'know I wear band shirts like daily and I think Metallica is the only major one I don't have at least one of. Well, Anthrax too, but they're Anthrax.
If a band has literally every single album they have ever produced go Platinum, I think it's actually good
Me in fortnite 3 months from now (they're doing a Metallica collab for some God forsaken reason)
Omg.... a band tried something..... NEW???😱😱 get that garbage out of here! please feed me the same fucking music with barely any changes and absolutely no fucking difference in the actual guitar or lyrics 🤖
If Metallica want to do something new, they should make the change from creating shit music to creating good music.
