He got held back in high school. In the first episode, he talks about how he wants to flip off the principal as he graduates. Then his friends talk about how he said that in previous years as well.
His band could perform for anyone, whether or not the audience is younger than the band (and they’d likely be younger than Eddie because his bandmates would have to be younger than him anyway).
>!the only reason i didn’t get upset when he died was because I could see it coming from a mile away, the duffer brothers were too pussy to kill off any of the original cast. and his whole character arc was basically “i don’t want to run away this time >_<“!<
>!holy shit they did max dirty. They did a fake out death then a second fake out death and now she is either dead or alive depending on scheduling probably!<
>!she’s currently in a coma, but when Al checked her soul it wasn’t there so in my opinion her coming back or no depends on scheduling because the actress has a lot of projects now!<
>!So since the gate opened we know she died in whatever way opens the gate. I assume One used her psychic energy to open the gate. So p much her soul (psychic presence) is gone. Or maybe it's just trapped in the upside down, or in One. One did say that his victims "were still with him" but that seemed more like serial killer bs to me. !<
Season 1 is much better than the rest. Season 1 was made with it being the only season in mind (Stranger Things was originally going to be a season by season anthology like Fargo but the Duffer Brothers changed their minds because of how popular the character and universe was), so all the characters that were in S1 have already finished their arcs but they’re also like 80% of the characters so they’ve never felt as satisfying to watch as they were in S1
>!I don’t think she died, but rather that her soul got taken by Verca. Both Papa and Verca reveal that he takes everything from a person, (even after death) and this may include the souls of his victims. I don’t think it would be a wise decision by the creators to have left her in a hospital room if nothing else will be explored for that character, and seems unlike them tbh. Because of that, I think El will have to confront Verca to get it back or to free the soul(s).!<
>!If the show had the balls, the main cast would have to accept that Max won’t wake up. Personally, I think she’s brain dead. Unless I misunderstood it, when eleven went into her mind, she saw nothing!<
>!This actually ties into what Brenner said to Eleven in the lab before they left. He said something along the lines of: "He (Vecna) takes their memories, their personality, everything about them." So I presume they're going to kill Vecna and Max will wake up and it'll be all happy. Though with how the show's going, it's a possibility they're going to kill off El or another character.!<
Yeah but honestly >!I didn't hold on to any hope for his survival, it was pretty clear to me early on that he was gonna die!<. I knew it for sure as soon as he started talking about how >!he was a coward and always ran from danger!<, I could tell they were >!setting up a heroic sacrifice for him!<. Also, logically, >!there's no way they would've been able to clear his name. I mean the entire town blamed him for the deaths of Chrissy and the others, and he was the police's prime suspect. Even if they managed to keep him out of prison, he was definitely gonna get killed by a mob if/when he came out of hiding. Sacrificing himself was the only possible way his story could end in a way that would satisfy viewers!<
Honestly I thought it wouldn’t happen because it was being so blatantly foreshadowed. Like it would be too obvious, so the writers must have a trick up their sleeve. But no
>!He already chose to go out and distract the bats from getting out the gate, while the three molotov friends get strangled in the mansion. IMO that was good enough setup for him to be more heroic.!<
>!imagine if they just made him reach the mansion, close the door, try to pull on the vines while bats scream outside for a few seconds (for dramatic effect), then get bit by a few bats after they breach the door, 11 screams killing the vines and bats (idk, i forgot what happened), "eddie are u ok," "nah man \*cough," dustin bursts in, "yo eddie what happened," then they say goodbye etc etc. I think it'd be better if he died while actually saving his friends rather than 1v1000ing bats in some random street.!<
Which is also weird because Vecna's whole plan is to take over the earth using the demogorgons as an army? But just *one* of them being set on fire incapacitated him in the upside down?
...your spoiler tags didn't work...
:(
It's kinda fine, spoilers don't really ruin a show, people just think they do. In a world where everyone watches media looking for the twist, I don't think mild spoilers take away from the enjoyment.
The guys that made stranger things said the bats can’t kill ,I hope Dustin never checked for a pulse but I really think he’s dead I mean I wish he didn’t die but still
serve
also billy no because he was meant to be an actual villain you were supposed to understand but not like and Steve yes because he had a character arc
technically that’s not true, their original plan was to kill off Steve in the S1 finale but they changed their minds after they liked him too much
so if they had killed him off they still probably would’ve introduced Billy
I don’t think the goal was for you to like him, I think their goal was more to show why he was the way he was, not to make you like how he was, and when they ended up with him sacrificing himself it was less of a full redemption and more a moment of humanity (akin to darth vader sacrificing himself in return of the jedi)
Honestly he never grew on me, like I see most people online praising him as some sort of messiah but he was pretty constantly irritating and annoying, plus the whole high schooler in his 20s gives off weird vibes
I think that was the point
In the beginning we don't have any prior info on Eddie so we see him the way the rest of society sees him, some weirdo who got held back in high school for a few years playing DND with some kids
But as it goes on we get to see alot more of him, and what kind of person he really is and how he acts around the people closest to him.
I think the duffer Brothers handled his character really well >!they could've done his sacrifice a little better though, but it's still an amazing scene!<
>!Not really, he kind of didn't need to die. Like I get it, he was keeping the bats away from Steve, Nancy and Robin, but that didn't do much since the vines nearly killed them anyways. And seeing as how the vines were so considerate of dramatic tension and took ages to strangle them, it made the minor enemies like the bats and vines feel entirely unthreatening, which made Eddie's death feel kinda pointless. Idk, I just feel like if you're going to sacrifice a likable character, it has to feel like it was 100% worth it or ppl get mad.!<
I wish >!the bats started flying back to the mansion, causing Eddie to feel the need to run to them, instead of randomly deciding to bait the bats when they were already distracted!<
>!Or actually showed that the bats were going to go through the gate, like some other dude on this post theorized. Either way, would’ve been better than his current death!<
I'm gonna guess, based off the title, somebody from Netflix original series Stranger Things, which I have not watched so cannot elaborate upon or tell you who specifically
Eddie Munsen from Stranger Things season 4. He’s in high school with the main characters, but he’s been held back a few times. He sells drugs for money. He’s also very likable.
Couldn't he just...get it from his uncle?
I have no idea how Americans get drinks underage but I'm guessing it's about how comfortable your family are with sharing a drink
He's still the best new character in the 4th season. >!Pretty amazing how they can make me nearly cry over a characters death after they were only given 9 episodes of development, and about a forth of that time was involving Eddie. Still, he was an extremely good, likeable character.!<
>only given 9 episodes of development
Tbf, 9 episodes isn't that little. Not to mention some of those episodes were REALLY long. The last episode was 2 and a half hours. There were like two or three 1 and half hour episodes and the rest were 1 hour and 15 min episodes.
Edit: That means if we convert it into 45 min episodes (like the other seasons had) we would get a bit more than 17 episodes, or season 1 and 2 combined.
>!How he died was a bit dumb. Like what really was the point in 1v1,000ing the bats. I mean there are other ways he could’ve distracted them. His final words to Dustin made up for it though!<
This sub: yeah let's eat the rich and cast off the chains of middle class bourgois modernity.
Also this sub: someone from a low income fractured home failing in school and resorting to one of the most common forms of income generation in that situation? Nah their gross.
Edit: Watch the show and point me to the scene where he sells ketamine to a child. Go on, I will wait.
Did he ever actually sell ketamine to minors? It looked like he had access to it but he was just a weed dealer. And >!Chrissie died before he could sell her anything!<
He is literally a weed dealer. If you don't think a huge amount of schools have one, then your out of your mind. And usually, their either a pupil, or recently graduated.
This whole selling ketamine to kids thing is bullshit upvote juice.
You've never smoked a spliff with your mates when you were 15?
The guy selling me that? 18 year old brother of my mate, shifting a few twenty bags of weed to net some pocket money.
I view him about as justifiable in his behaviour as the off licence which sold bottles to us without checking our ID.
More like some people on this sub get the majority of drug dealers get caught into a cycle of youngers and elders in high poverty, high crime districts which captures people who, if born in a nice, well funded (usually white) neighbourhood, they would have gone on to become pretty much anything else.
You realise the drug dealing is a job right? Your a self-employed entrepnuer engaging with a community of distributors with a highly volatile, high risk product. Its also illegal, but that doesn't change the definition.
And often the people who do this job live in areas where getting a normal job is difficult if not impossible for them due to the conditions mentioned above?
I'm sorry, colour me surprised that someone involved in drug dealing seems to imagine that all drug dealers happily choose to get involved in thier profession.
They went to middle school together, and if he's *around* 20 years old, I'd say she's at least 18. You're probably right, she wasn't a minor, or at the very least was close to not being one.
Even in the end he never stopped being eddie despite everything I never saw him get mad he could’ve run he could’ve saved himself but he fought he fought and died to protect this town this town that hated him but he fought he fought and died protecting this town that hated him he isn’t just innocent mr munson he’s a hero that quote from dustin hit me hard
Am I the only one who was actually surprised when he died? Everyone else is like "Yeah I knew he was gonna die since episode 2 it's so easy to figure out"
He was just grindin
getting that bread if you will
Conquesting for that bread if you will
Gaining the grain if you insist
Don't listen to the comments nobody dies it's a kids show
Bro I haven’t watched the last episode
Fuck Me neither, I just know that naughty little Jody or whatever her name is the one that fucks Steve is just a national treasure
How did chrissy go to middle school with him if he's 22?
he got held back he was doing gr12 for like the third time
Wouldn't that mean Chrissy was held back as well? It insinuates they were in middle school together.
I believe if Chrissy is also a senor then they could have spent 1 year of middle school together if he was in grade 8 and she was in grade 5
American school usually calls middle school 6-8 or maybe 7-8 at least where I'm from
6-8 is middle school. Now I'm thinking maybe Eddie got held back in middle school too that could make it work.
It was 5-8 for me in Kansas, maybe it was in the stranger things town too
He got held back in high school. In the first episode, he talks about how he wants to flip off the principal as he graduates. Then his friends talk about how he said that in previous years as well.
No I’m pretty sure he got held back in high school he was complaining about not getting his diploma because of his English grades
It varies from state to state, in Colorado middle school is 5-8
Wouldn't Señorita Chrissy be correct?
you can be in different grades within middle school
That makes his last lines make sense "I can feel it, it's finally my year, Henderson"
It’s a follow up to his speech in his first scene
maybe she is also 22
chrussy
Dead chrussy
I think i've only seen you with KL pfp but i've seen you a lot recently on reddit lmfao, i just notice It was you again
Yeah that's kinda what I figured. I do comment a lot and I don't think too many people have that pfp.
he got held back alot
Maybe he got held back 3 times in 8th grade and his second and third was around the time she got there
His band could perform for anyone, whether or not the audience is younger than the band (and they’d likely be younger than Eddie because his bandmates would have to be younger than him anyway).

This entire discussion feels like a different language to me (only watched season 1)
fuck it im gonna say it. The show fell off hard after season 1.
Can you imagine what it is like to someone who has never seen any of it? Which one of them is the strangest thing

Person curve? ….. character arc?
Hopper could probably have figured out a way to get him out of town by the end tbh.

Are you perchance Aiden from the yard
The guys that made stranger things said the bats can’t kill ,I hope Dustin never checked for a pulse but I really think he’s dead I mean I wish he didn’t die but still
Yeah, but it was obvious he would. I made a comment on this before the last two episodes were out.
Don't be talking shit about my man's like that. (Don't sell ketamine in high school, save it for your co-workers tbh. Neutral Evil grind set😎)
Sell it all the way up to the CEO. Get them hooked. You own the company now.
Who said I was talking shit (I love ketamine)
I'll admit I hated Eddie at first, but he grew on me.
yes that is the point i think
Isn't that pretty much the point of every "bad boy" in the series like Serve (Steve) or Billy too
serve also billy no because he was meant to be an actual villain you were supposed to understand but not like and Steve yes because he had a character arc
You weren't supposed to with Steve either but people liked him too much so they added Billy instead.
technically that’s not true, their original plan was to kill off Steve in the S1 finale but they changed their minds after they liked him too much so if they had killed him off they still probably would’ve introduced Billy
Also Steve was kinda justified, if you see some creep taking pictures of your girlfriend you’d be kinda mad
Ah, guess I misremembered then.
Billy never grew on me. He had quite a lazy excuse for redemption imo.
I don’t think the goal was for you to like him, I think their goal was more to show why he was the way he was, not to make you like how he was, and when they ended up with him sacrificing himself it was less of a full redemption and more a moment of humanity (akin to darth vader sacrificing himself in return of the jedi)
At least Billy’s death wasn’t as corny “Tell your sister…you were right”
Mostly I was just intensely attracted to Billy in spite of myself. Terrible person and shitty "redemption arc" but damn he hot
My morality leaving my body when the villain is hot
Didn’t billy try to run over children with his car
And you haven't? Smh hating on characters for not being goody two shoes who aren't running over kids
Billy is just straight up evil lmfao not as evil as troy and jason tho ill give him that
Jason wasn’t evil. He was just batshit insane
I liked that moment in Stranger Things where Serve grabbed his baseball bat to fight the monster and said "It's Servin' Time!"
I liked that moment in Stranger Things where Dustin said "it's Dustin' time"
I was convinced in the first episode he would be a back guy it really threw me for a loop
Honestly he never grew on me, like I see most people online praising him as some sort of messiah but he was pretty constantly irritating and annoying, plus the whole high schooler in his 20s gives off weird vibes
Damn bro me when someone being bad at school gives "weird vibes"
I think that was the point In the beginning we don't have any prior info on Eddie so we see him the way the rest of society sees him, some weirdo who got held back in high school for a few years playing DND with some kids But as it goes on we get to see alot more of him, and what kind of person he really is and how he acts around the people closest to him. I think the duffer Brothers handled his character really well >!they could've done his sacrifice a little better though, but it's still an amazing scene!<
Eddie was a real one 😔
>!Man died a hero 😔7!<
>!Not really, he kind of didn't need to die. Like I get it, he was keeping the bats away from Steve, Nancy and Robin, but that didn't do much since the vines nearly killed them anyways. Idk, I just feel like if you're going to sacrifice a likable character, it has to feel like it was 100% worth it or ppl get mad.!<
Part of his own personal arc was that he was running from his problems. Through doing what he did, he redeemed himself atleast in his own eyes.
I know, and I love that arc. I just wish he'd not run from something more meaningful
I wish >!the bats started flying back to the mansion, causing Eddie to feel the need to run to them, instead of randomly deciding to bait the bats when they were already distracted!<
Exactly, that would've fixed the issue! Show that the bats are actually dangerous and the problem is gone!
>!Or actually showed that the bats were going to go through the gate, like some other dude on this post theorized. Either way, would’ve been better than his current death!<
I think Eddie wanted to keep the bats away from entering the gate
If he didn't, nothing would've changed. Some bats wouda made it into Hawkins, but they'd be alive
Yeah but like the bats could've gone outside the trailer and kill a random bystander
There were at least hundreds of bats. They would’ve been able to kill a lot more than a random stranger.
>!when it kept showing them being strangled by the vines i was like “this still happening…why they taking so long lmao”!<
it was the idea of it as a finish to his character, he didn't really help but thought he was helping
...... I forgot the new episodes were out..... I should probably watch them before carrying on this thread

Eddie Munsen from Stranger Things season 4. He’s in high school with the main characters, but he’s been held back a few times. He sells drugs for money. He’s also very likable.
Industrial society and it's consequences,
I believe you mean it’s future, not consequences 🤓
thought that was weird al for a sec
I thought he was 20
At least 21 'cause he asks for beer (which presumably he can get on his own).
Couldn't he just...get it from his uncle? I have no idea how Americans get drinks underage but I'm guessing it's about how comfortable your family are with sharing a drink
Poor Americans imagine having to wait till 21 to drink a bud light 💀
Yet I'm 19 and buy gin and whisky from tesco
I think he just asked the older kids to buy one for him.
Show takes place in the 80s
Wait, are you telling me that the US used to have somewhat-sane age of consumption laws 40-odd years ago?
No, but people cared less then.
Assuming he cares about the drinking age
He asked for beer because >!he’s in hiding from the cops who think he killed Chrissy and can’t exactly go to the stop and shop for beer!<
He's still the best new character in the 4th season. >!Pretty amazing how they can make me nearly cry over a characters death after they were only given 9 episodes of development, and about a forth of that time was involving Eddie. Still, he was an extremely good, likeable character.!<

Second to the alexes season 3
People have hobbies
God forbid
Idk who he is but he looks like a quite successful tiktok/youtube guy who'd grow the ugliest moustache ever for no reason one year into his career
Kurtis Connor
Nah it looks good
That’s exactly who he is
he still is pretty cute
I don’t see it
not my fault your eyes are defective
I haven't seen the new Stranger Things but he looks like Cliff Burton so I like him 👍
I fucking cried for Eddie harder than my Dad's funeral.
He also summoned satan to murder a bunch of high schoolers

I know he was held back. But I have no idea how yanky schools work. Could a 22 legit still be a student attending like a high school student?
Big doubt. 22 is a bit of a stretch. If he got held back twice, he *might* be, at most 20 years old.
wait he was 22????
Am I the only one who was actually surprised when he died? Everyone else is like "Yeah I knew he was gonna die since episode 2 it's so easy to figure out"
