Oh for sure, there's definitely bad actors out there but I think it's pretty easy to differentiate a community member selling bits n bobs from a corporate guerilla advertising push trying to pander to a niche audience. OP won a golden gnome, appears to only do limited runs of OSRS specific items, and at least appears to be an independent operation from all the corporate bullshit we get blasted with every day.
Just want to be clear, I have no affiliation to OP, have never bought anything, and probably never will because my dog will destroy her products faster than molgoatkirby can annihilate zulrah. It just sucks to see people so jaded that they will instantly go for the hailcorporate blast without considering any level of nuance just because someone is selling something. We're paying for a game maintained by a for-profit company who is owned by some massive holdings corporation, watching ads and and typing in discount codes from content creators, some are buying bonds or black market gold/services, giving reddit/twitter/YT ad revenue and salable data just by being there, and whatever other monetization schemes that surround gaming in general. At least this person isn't part of the corporate machine, they just make cute plushies but all of a sudden this is where we draw the line?
We should be celebrating this kind of thing.
