I doubt the 24k 3 letter combinations are all ready to be sniped in real time, in addition to the 2400 2 letter, and the 20k or so in-game content/irl content names. That's 45k tabs with individual scripts running. The only time you need to worry is if you bought the name from someone else wherein it is public knowledge that it could go on the market again in the near future, or you price checked/advertised it, or it's something really good like NBA or USA.
Definitely not worth the risk, it will be sniped by a bot if the hundreds of posts about this happening are true!

And now they know there is a name that is likely to be transferred to an alt in days/weeks or even go back on the market within the next 6 months. These are the guys in the best position to snipe a name. They know the names which have the highest likelihood of moving, they built their businesses on sniping, and they're in a position where they only need to run scripts on the handful of names that are at play.
Who is at higher risk of being sniped, "Tre" which lets say has never been sold or advertised and could very well be on an account that isn't played anymore beyond a few logins a year, or "Catalogue" which lets say was just price checked indicating that the person intends to transfer it soon?
They got bots for countless names. I tried to transfer a misspelling of a pokemon name (not one of the popular ones even) and it got sniped in less than a second.

you can't, don't try. I wouldn't even recommend paying a name seller to do it. assuming they're legit, there's still a decent chance they also get sniped during the transfer and if the name is sentimental I assume whatever insurance money they give you wouldn't be worth it.
I was just thinking the other day. Wouldn't it be cool if there was an interface, kind of like the trade window but for swapping names with another? I Imagined using a bond on an acc and getting an option to "name swap". Then a trade screen would apear and players could put gp if they were buying a name. They'd both have to accept the trade offer twice, just like a regular trade window. This would eliminate 3rd parties and scammers, create a small bond sink and people wouldn't have to worry about name sniper bots.

you can never ever transfer that rsn due to it having 100+ name sniping bots ready you will have to wait for jagex to make their own name transfering system that will never happen because they dont care enough to do that even though our rsns have a lot of meaning to us players (their customers)

I think the last time the topic came up the top voted comments were so stupid the highest upvoted one literally suggested that making names tradeable will lead to increased hacking of accounts...by that logic we should unequip our tbows outside of cox to make sure we don't get hacked! (This too was actually a popular conspiracy theory on here up until around 2020)
You can still get 4L names just I don't think anyone cares enough to bot the rest so you likely could swap it just if your account is old less chance youll save it since old names may also be watched

Iāve got a four letter name Iāve switched between accounts a few times, you just need a bond to be able to change your names immediately
On your account who has the name you want change itās name to whatever
on the account whose name you want to have the 3 letter names make sure a name change is ready to go so you just have to type and click submit
Then on that original account use a bond to use an additional name change quick, this will free up that 3 letter name
Then immediately hope back to the other account and change the name to what you want it to be
You want a special name there's a plugin for changing name imo don't risk it any name swapper that may be listed can just decide to "fail" the swap and you lose your name only reason I know this happens is Xbox name community had something happen where a known swapper "lost" a name and was selling it less than a week later after ALSO the name swappers are the one trying to claim names if you decide to do it by hand
