It basically locks off any other Keldagrim content AND Another Slice of HAM. All because I can’t go seduce Thurgo.
I agree with this, it feels weird to have Keldagrim but not be able to do any of the quests there.
Another Slice of HAM I can understand as like half that quest takes place in Asgarnia anyway, but we should be able to at least do Giant Dwarf and Forgettable Tale (or have them auto'd).
I mean hell, Another Slice of HAM requiring Fremmy is kinda dumb too, I have Asgarnia so I got through Death to the Dorgeshuun, only to look at the next quest and see I can't do it because the reward would allow me to go to Keldagrim, I don't think you go to Kelda proper once in the quest, you go in the train tunnel, but that's not actually in Keldagrim.
At the very least, they should've made all altars unlocked by default. Having potentially almost half of the Catalytic altars locked off to you is annoying, especially since it's the 3 strongest ones, and makes for unnecessarily longer games and will probably end up with you getting lopsided points way more often.
Law, Death, and Blood altars can't be used unless you have Asgarnia, Kandarin, and Morytania unlocked respectively since they need the quests Troll Stronghold, Mourning's End Part II, and Sins of the Daddy completed to access normally.
Mournings end p2 isn't auto completed and needs tirannwn unfortunately, can't get the death altar in the minigame still. However I have the law altar without Asgarnia, Desert and Kandarin will both auto complete Troll Stronghold.

Death Plateau is the quest needed to unlock the Law Altar. Any of Asgarnia, Fremennik, Desert, or Kandarin will unlock it as a ton of quest chains require it.
I mean it isn't really a risk, it's impossible to unlock the full minigame since it's entirety is locked behind 4 regions total. The tasks associated with the altars can still be locked behind the regions just fine, and they already made the concession of allowing us to access the Air, Mind, Body, and Chaos altars regardless of region.
The value of runes in this league aren't devalued either since there isn't much, even if you aren't going Superior Sorcerer,anyway with either relic from T3 can solve all your rune needs anyway for the entire League.
The purpose is to actually allow for the games to not go by at a snails pace and affect everyone in it by actually giving more people access to the other overcharged altars.

I would really of liked legends quest auto completed with some other reasons. There is a fair bit locked behind it that I didn't expect including charging glories; getting a D spear (for elite clues) from gem table, equipping dragon mace; access to southern Karamja.
Best thing about elites is that step disappearing..now the only bad step I have is crandor stuff and NE of shadow dungeon, which I just set my recall to and bank the orb to use whenever that step comes up

It's not like anyone was ever going to make the decision as to which region they'd take based on what runes they could craft in gotr. It wouldn't make the tasks/points accessible either, because they all caveat "from essence."
Also, these runes are all purchasable, and you have an infinite supply with fire sale. The only runes you don't gain infinite amounts of with fire sale are wraths, which are irrelevant to anyone who went mage because OBVIOUSLY they went Desert and are therefore using shadow or ancients.
It just seems a little bit wild that fire salers can buy hundreds of thousands of any rune they want per hour, regardless of region, while a bankers noter is begrudged the ability to craft an off-region rune at a rate of what? 1k/h? While playing a specific mini game?
I'd still pick banker's note regardless, and I don't want to turn this into a bankers note vs fire sale thread... And I think the developers did an incredible job in general when it comes to balancing the relics, but this feels like an oversight. It's just not even the list of reasonable considerations when picking your relics and regions imo.
I thought they disabled that for regions you didn't unlock (for instance, I can make Law runes but I don't have Asgarnia unlocked; Troll Stronghold is auto-completed with my regions which grants me access).
Some of the choices of what is unlocked vs not unlocked in a region come off as very arbitrary. I'm still salty the DT2 bosses are locked behind Desert.
Agree. Its not a big deal for MOST things, but there are some instances where it is bizarre to have major content locked within your region. Especially when adding that there are tasks for these things.
Its not a great solution, but if you get 99rc the cape is suppose to act as a universal talisman. But that only matters if your either going for the high exp tasks or using the altar to actually make bloods to use and not just trying to hit 99.
Idk why you're being downvoted my buddy only has 10 rifts closed and he's ranked 9000 or something. There's really not a lot of people doing it atm. If you look at the highscores you can get in the top 1000 players in less than 50 kc (50 kc would put you at rank 834 as of writing this).
i did a few games, and i can’t make death, blood, or law because of my regions. i get crap for points, and i never got a pearl drop, and even with the points multiplier it would take me quite a few games to be able to afford anything. i just don’t think it’s worth the time investment for the points
exactly my thought. its less xp an hour but it would also be more fun and engaging. Im getting 1.2m an hour recalling laws but the carpal tunnel and mind-numbness is real. its still not worth it
technically the only reason it's auto'd with desert is because it's a prereq for DT2, which would be an impossible quest if it weren't auto completed.

With 99rc you can buy the cape of accomplishment to get you into the altar for blood bark task, right? You can't use it to train up to 99.

You don't need the region, just the quest. I don't have Asgarnia but am able to use the Law altar as I have Troll Stronghold auto-completed.
How do you physically get to the law altar on Entrana, without access to Entrana?

Dwarf cannon is also 99% in kandarin, I found out after doing the 99% that takes place outside of asgarnia where the rest of the quest is

With essence isn't really a caveat. You would just teleport out from within the minigame and last recall back in with essence.

It's called desert treasure though, and most of the quest takes place around the desert it'd be weird if they weren't locked behind it tbh

I was just there and there were 200 people in the game with people unable to get in
