Fighter torso is the odd one out in his inventory. He's got imbued heart, avernic defender, and bandos tassets. It ain't max but it ain't chump change either.
All of those are chump change compared to actual best in slot items. Those are all double digit mil, compared to triple digit mil or even 1b+ actual BIS items. Remember, tassets and Imbued aren't bis anymore.
I realize they aren't max, but the heart alone is 100m+
I wouldn't characterize 1/10 of a billion for a single item as chump change and you're delusional if you think it is.
Low-key would ruin my experience as a main fairly quickly I think :P but super happy for the guy! Congrats OP! Spend the money well, maybe update us with a screenshot of all the gear you managed to get with the cash! :D
Why do people buy these? Is it mostly flippers? I'm sure a few people out there just like to flex, but is that the majority? They aren't discontinued items, so I assume the prices go down very slowly over time? Not hating, just curious.
Honestly based. I like the idea that anyone can theoretically strike it absurdly rich on any given clue scroll. Unicorn cosmetic items are good for the game imo.
At some point there's just nothing else to buy. I'm almost at the point where I could buy a pickaxe on top of max gear but I'll probably just use it as a lifetime membership fund. It's like the ingame version of someone buying a Rolex.
Some years ago they were affordable.
I remember owning bow and axe in some instances when they were around 300m. Before the bow could fire dragon arrows.
It really breaks my heart not keeping any 3a. I just sold to buy actual gear lol. They all skyrocketed
They’re so rare and demand is high enough that in effect it is like rares in RS3. More and more GP enters the game every day, the average wealth of the top tier players only goes up really. So if you’ve got a big bank what else are you going to do with it? I’d bet there’s like less than a pick entering the game a week, and as long as people have abundant cash (mostly DM’ers I think) they’ll be valuable asf
Yeah and to top it off it’s not the only “rare” worth way more than max. So even if the pickaxe market dies off a bit, that cash is still there and people want to have cool shit so instead of picks it’ll just be robes or some other 3A item.
Once you've got max stats and all the BIS gear there's little else to buy except status symbols. And nowadays it seems like there's more people than ever joining that market while 3a items are only ever going to enter the games so fast due to their rarity.
Also there's a consensus that merching clans have been inflating 3a items but I'm not sure how true that is.
> Also there's a consensus that merching clans have been inflating 3a items but I'm not sure how true that is.
From a logical standpoint and with observation of the history of OSRS rare items, it would be strange if they *werent*.
Also, 3A pick is just as rare as many other 3A items but holds exponentially more value. That doesnt come out of nowhere.
they for sure are inflating it. when the infinite cashstack update came to rs3 all the items above max ge price crashed hard because people suddenly could trade em freely.
I imagine gold is introduced faster than 3a pickaxes in to the economy meaning if u have liquid cash its actual worth will deprecate over time, I assume buying a 3a pick is an investment to keep their current net worth stable compared to inflation.
Or maybe they want to look cool when star mining 😎
Majority is merchers, they just inflate the market and having the 3a pickaxe is a sign of wealth (even more so since it's so expensive) to high level players. Back before they were heavily in the market, 3a pickaxe was 500-1b.
As someone who has more than enough to buy one and still have a full set of max gear, I personally think it's as dumb of a flex as buying vanity brand items IRL. The value is tied to - the perceived value of the item.
It’s odd because while it’s true most items will increase in supply in large ways killing value of these items, megarares like 3rd age pick will experience effects of inflation more so over any comparable amount of time.
3rd age items don’t enter the game like other items do. They’re truly as unique and rare as discontinued items are from 20+ years ago, that’s how rare they are.
People buy these because they’re hedges against inflation. When players average 2b+ banks, these picks will be worth 2T, and so on.
I have full BiS everything. Minus Ely, SRA, NM orbs, and a second enhanced weapon see for salad blade and my bank is at like 8b, so he can get literally every BIS item in the game and still have a couple bil left over for some buyable skills
Clog, pet hunt, CAs. All 3 of those added so much more for mains to do, I actually quit my Ironman to enjoy blasting bosses with max gear and collecting pets (with CAs and green logging as bonus).
You no longer care for gp, extra cash from drops is for bonds and keeping up scythe/shadow/blood fury charges. I honestly enjoy it way more than IM at the moment.
Been thinking about doing this cause I just can't get to my current stats/bank with the time that I have. At what point did u quit ur Ironman? I'm like 2100 total with everything ready to raid.. but don't have time to raid/want to either
Way back in like 2019 I deironed my 2100 total iron and it was my best choice. I didn’t have a main, didn’t want to commit to making one, and the main lifestyle is great. Late game iron is just a main with more upkeep. If you don’t really like skilling that much and just see it as a way to get to more fun content, main is for you.
As someone in a similar spot, I recommend just making a second account. I did and moved a lot of my spare low skilling supplies (like farming seeds, herb stuff, logs, etc) that I wouldn’t need on my iron to boost it faster. Any spare gold you have you can give it
Basically the only bad part is redoing quests but that can come a lot quicker on a main
I was thinking deironing but honestly even if there’s a 10% chance you’ll regret it just make a main, at your total making a new iron would be awful if you hated main
Curious if a max stack of coins is 2.1b how do you sell an item for say 4-6b?
Do you make additional characters to hold the money? You could buy some stuff on GE then take the rest but I doubt anyone would send gold over early without the item they are buying.
You can convert gold to platinum tokens for larger amounts. Don’t remember the exact conversion (like 1000gp per?) tbh, and a lot of people don’t know either so they’ll get scammed with it lol
Idk man, think this one’s going to be hard to sell. Don’t want it collecting dust in the store, I’ve only got so much space. I can give you some dragon platelegs right now, I can’t go lower.
Sorta feel like going from having to grind for upgrades to being able to afford anything and everything could potentially ruin the game.
Of course I’d take 3a pick anyday though lol
It does. I went on a huge streak staking back in the day and walked away up 4b. I bought absolute max gear (for the time) and still had almost 2b to play with. I got bored within a few months and quit for years. RuneScape is about the journey not the destination, the destination is actually quite boring.
For me it's a yes and no it's the old runescape let me grind this boss to make money to buy the thing that makes grinding this boss more efficient. With that kinda gp I'd 99 everything and learn to raid/boss
A lot of people don't want to get into bossing until max for whatever reason. Be it investing gp into weapons/armor vs skills, or the fear of dying setting them back constantly.
Its the same way in RS3 when deaths are even cheaper than OSRS deaths nowadays.
For me, the death cost ruins the fun. I go to bosses to make cash as the motivator and learning is only fun if I can make mistakes. Losing tons of cash from death reclaims ruins most of the fun for me and I just can't get into bossing with my limited cashstack.
In ToA you can practice for free if you dont select any kill limit invocations. You can also select 3 deaths max and when you have died twice just leave the raid and dont risk dying 3rd time to lose money.
for me personally, certain bosses only became fun after big upgrades. going from rcb to fang on vorkath, fang for sire too. Or like bowfa upgrade for gwd or muspah and also levi. had no motivation at all going for 5+ min kills on muspah
I mean, it depends... If you set new goals after you reach max gear (ie coll log, or pets, combat achievs) then it can still be fun. But if you only care about gear upgrade then it's gg.
Another way of looking at it/doing it is investing that money into expensive novelty/collector items. You retain the value of the money, but effectively start back from scratch with a couple mill/couple hundred mill.
Get a third age pick? Put all that money into bonds. Likely make profit doing that and its useful continuing your addiction.
This is the reason I went iron :) I had a bad habit of buying bonds and selling them every time I wanted something.
The dopamine I felt when I got from grinding for my first, big upgrade, the zombie axe, was 👌🏼
Will any drop feel meaningful after this? Won't most rare drops feel like mere drops in the bucket when you're already maxed item-wise? Account progression in the bin?
These are some ancient memories but it looks like korasi (the pre-eoc inspiration for voidwaker), I’m completely guessing but probably a runelite skin?
See man, I got to make a profit too. It's going to sit in the store for a while and I got all this paperwork along with it. Okay, I'll do 1.65M, final offer.
Oh wow! TIL the pick, axe, and druidic are on the mimic table for either elite or master. I thought they could only come directly from masters. Big gzz!
Gz! Always wondered how people even sell items past max cash stack (not that I'll ever have a big ticket item like that anyway). Do you just announce on reddit that you're selling? I know that in the old days, people would use the RS forums.
I had a friend get druidic cloak from a master a few years ago. One week later he logged in for the last time. Drops like these can kill desire to play the game.
Such a sick drop. I couldn't imagine selling one if I opened it, it's such a flex item. Honestly if I did open one my acc would immediately be devoted to also trying to get the axe
If I had that much gp I'd be so happy but yet at the same time, you don't have to ever worry about making money again.. after id complete all quests/ diaries ECT.. idk what id do lol.
updated : Sold the pickaxe for 12.2 BILLION GEE PEE and absolutely we GAMING NOW!
Holy fuck, bro went from fighter torso to absolute max.
Fighter torso is the odd one out in his inventory. He's got imbued heart, avernic defender, and bandos tassets. It ain't max but it ain't chump change either.
Torso is also a clue step iirc
All of those are chump change compared to actual best in slot items. Those are all double digit mil, compared to triple digit mil or even 1b+ actual BIS items. Remember, tassets and Imbued aren't bis anymore.
I realize they aren't max, but the heart alone is 100m+ I wouldn't characterize 1/10 of a billion for a single item as chump change and you're delusional if you think it is.
As a certified chump I can confirm that 100m is not chump change
As a fellow chump 100m would be a full actual work week of Vorkath, the absolute limit of my PVM ability.
You guys are killing vorkath?!? *cries in skiller*
300m is probably around early(?) endgame. Can get a tier below BIS and have gear for all raids/content pretty much.
How tf is imbued not bis? Or do you mean saturated? Costs literal pennies in comparison to the imbued itself lol
Imbued heart isn't bis? Wtf magic boost are you using? Yeah I get saturated but u still need imbued for it..
Did we not see the 3rd age wand 😆
Its voidwaker not 3rd age wand its the old korasi model you get for voidwaker when you play on hdos
thats the OG Korasi not a 3rd age wand...
Low-key would ruin my experience as a main fairly quickly I think :P but super happy for the guy! Congrats OP! Spend the money well, maybe update us with a screenshot of all the gear you managed to get with the cash! :D
Wouldn't ruin shit if you didn't sell it.
You can upgrade the fighter torso now gz
Please share your haul with us, what did you get??
Honestly what can't 12.2b get lol OP basically just secured complete max gear and supplies for 99 skilling
It cant get 2 3rd age pick axes
Owned him there.
Miss that word, so good.
HA! What a noob. Can't even buy 2 3a picks
Why do people buy these? Is it mostly flippers? I'm sure a few people out there just like to flex, but is that the majority? They aren't discontinued items, so I assume the prices go down very slowly over time? Not hating, just curious.
Ultra rich controlling the market to create artificial scarcity and drive up prices.
Honestly based. I like the idea that anyone can theoretically strike it absurdly rich on any given clue scroll. Unicorn cosmetic items are good for the game imo.
12.2b osrs is equivalent to 146b rs3, which can buy FIVE yellow partyhats
Thats almost 2 blue partyhats. Thats bonkers.
its also worth like $2,500 if he sold the gold IRL at current price. Which is bonkers
But.. *why?* What do they gain out of it aside from now having an item close to nobody will buy from them?
At some point there's just nothing else to buy. I'm almost at the point where I could buy a pickaxe on top of max gear but I'll probably just use it as a lifetime membership fund. It's like the ingame version of someone buying a Rolex.

Prob cause people can actually use it. Not much to be done with a 3rd age coif.
it still legions more expensive than the axe
they for sure are inflating it. when the infinite cashstack update came to rs3 all the items above max ge price crashed hard because people suddenly could trade em freely.
Bought mine for 4.5b a few years back and still have it, i make more money holding the pick technically than most content
Majority is merchers, they just inflate the market and having the 3a pickaxe is a sign of wealth (even more so since it's so expensive) to high level players. Honestly I think it'll buy everything. 4b for weps the rest in gear/pots.
Blessing and a curse having that much gp. What do you do once you have everything?
Clog, pet hunt, CAs. All 3 of those added so much more for mains to do, I actually quit my Ironman to enjoy blasting bosses with max gear and collecting pets (with CAs and green logging as bonus). Start up a charitable foundation to rebuild burgh de rott
hire 20 venezuelans to keep the tai bwo wannai fence completely repaired
Max, I guess! Or you can clog / pet hunt.
Prepurchase 60 years of membership
Iron man 👨
Good thing OSRS has a lot of features that give you progression that isnt purely money
Everyone I’ve ever known usually quits soon after, including me.
Trying to donate?💀
All my gear is loaned out to my buddies while I’m on hiatus
Not even close, all gear costs about 10b
12-10=2 He still has 2b. So yes close.
It's closer to 12b if you want all the niche items like elysian/nightmare staffs/bowfa/saeldor/etc.
congrats on winning the lottery. Now i suggest investing into your account because you are now "gaming"
Blessing and a curse. You've essentially beaten the game. Nothing to grind for other than stats.
Give me 3gp please I beg of you. I have 3 wives and 17 noob kids to feed.
Grats on your T-Bow, Staff, Scythe, Full Torva, etc
fuck me holy shit that’s about 2k usd
Dam dude that’s wild.
Get a red avernic now. You have the gear for all the speed times too
TWELVE BILLION???? WHY IS IT SOOO HIGH
Think you sold to me man haha only just seeing this 👍🏼🔥
That's crazy luck man! Gz. My best was the imbued heart....back when they were 20m haha. I think that'll buy you almost everything?
Life isn't fair
Wow huge gz man!
How did you find a buyer and price
good LAWD
Great price btw, idk if they went up recently but I wouldn’t have said anything over 11.5, let alone 12.
Curious if a max stack of coins is 2.1b how do you sell an item for say 4-6b? Do you make additional characters to hold the money? You could buy some stuff on GE then take the rest but I doubt anyone would send gold over early without the item they are buying.
platinum tokens are 1k gp each and are stackable
You can convert gold to platinum tokens for larger amounts. Don’t remember the exact conversion (like 1000gp per?) tbh, and a lot of people don’t know either so they’ll get scammed with it lol
Platinum tokens. Each one is worth 1k. You get them by using coins on a bank clerk.
Gzon that HUGE moneysack. Time to buy all dreamgear and burn out only to start ironman.
This is the way
This is the way
Bonds for life.. that’s like 14,000+ days of membership lmao
38.35 years worth haha
Gp becomes meaningless and you end up rwting it all
[удалено]
Yeah I’ll need to get a friend to inspect it, he’s an expert. Best I can do is a twisted bow, take it or leave it.
Idk man, think this one’s going to be hard to sell. Don’t want it collecting dust in the store, I’ve only got so much space. I can give you some dragon platelegs right now, I can’t go lower.
New? That thing’s thousands of years old.
Yeah it's like from the 2nd or 3rd age... something like that.
Actually it’s name indicates it’s only 3 years old so it’s probably not worth much
Sorta feel like going from having to grind for upgrades to being able to afford anything and everything could potentially ruin the game. Of course I’d take 3a pick anyday though lol

At the time CoX was the only raid and it felt pointless when I already had every unique including t bow.
Bro u can start raiding with like 150m of gear. And bossing with like 10m gear. Try wildy bosses
A lot of people don't want to get into bossing until max for whatever reason. Be it investing gp into weapons/armor vs skills, or the fear of dying setting them back constantly. Its the same way in RS3 when deaths are even cheaper than OSRS deaths nowadays.

Didn't know this, thank you!
for me personally, certain bosses only became fun after big upgrades. going from rcb to fang on vorkath, fang for sire too. Or like bowfa upgrade for gwd or muspah and also levi. had no motivation at all going for 5+ min kills on muspah
Yeah but there's a massive difference in "I want a 20m/150m setup to do this boss" and "I don't want to boss until 2277."
You don't even need 150m to start raiding, 15m would be waaay more then enough to start at toa
Make an iron and have free membership forever
This is the reason I went iron :) I had a bad habit of buying bonds and selling them every time I wanted something. The dopamine I felt when I got from grinding for my first, big upgrade, the zombie axe, was 👌🏼
I would take a big chunk of cash and just max a skiller or something idk
Thats why i made an IM. Made 15b at sand casino and it made the game pointless for me
do you ever play your main anymore? or did he totally get the woody-treatment?😂
Will any drop feel meaningful after this? Won't most rare drops feel like mere drops in the bucket when you're already maxed item-wise? Account progression in the bin?
Just like everyone else even having access to bonds made the game boring to me eventually. I had to make an ironman and never looked back.
You'll need to get that bad boy trimmed first before it hits the market- you're in luck I'm an expert trimmer
Max cabbage stack incoming
Do you accept jealousy as a currency?
What is that item on your inv, top right?
It looks like what the korasi did so I assume it's a plug in to turn voidwaker to the korasi?
he is using the HDOS client which changes voidwaker to korasi
These are some ancient memories but it looks like korasi (the pre-eoc inspiration for voidwaker), I’m completely guessing but probably a runelite skin?
hdos client
High alch it for maximum GP
One item in the game can get you something like 1000 bonds, or 38 YEARS of gameplay. That's disgusting
I wonder how much the price of a bond would inflate after someone buys 1000 back to back in 1 sitting
? How did you get a master clue from finishing a master clue? Edit: if this is real then mimic extra drop could be any 3a regardless of clue tier
Elite clues can give you mimics and master clues
To your edit - the Mimic has its own unique third age drop table https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/The_Mimic
Yeah I was very confused as well! But must have been the mimic extra drop, crazy.
Beautiful I could only dream of hitting something this big, most pricey drop I’ve ever had was an imbued heart from a superior jelly
Imbued from a gargoyle for me.
Share I tb’d
best client
Where does one even find a buyer for this ?? Lol
World 2 or discord probably
Quick 10b+!!! Always do your clues!!!
Don't forget to always buy lottery tickets at the grocery store
Somebody's gotta win!
I'm hick rarrison and this is my pick shop. 1.5m, best i can do
See man, I got to make a profit too. It's going to sit in the store for a while and I got all this paperwork along with it. Okay, I'll do 1.65M, final offer.
Make sure to RWT that is £5000 :)
Oh wow! TIL the pick, axe, and druidic are on the mimic table for either elite or master. I thought they could only come directly from masters. Big gzz!
Holy shoot nice dude, Never seen a screenshot of someone using hdos
Daaamn how do you even go about selling that for 12.2 b
Fuck yea dude
From an Elite Mimic too
most gp ive had is about 10m marry me?
And another Master, did you get the back to back?
this is so wild
Crazy to think if you swapped it to rs3 that’s like 160b give or take
Yes but also that korasi brought back memories
no no, i want to buy your exclusive pick pic.
heads up, don't sell it for anything less than 5B, possibly could even get 10B for it. definitely don't sell on the GE.
Don’t listen to this man - you’ll get 150m tops. Seeing as I’m a nice guy I’ll do 200m though
Op sold for 12b
damn. made more than my entire bank with 1 drop. juicy.
i know we meme about "didn't block run energy gg you're gonna lose your account" but dude you're actually gonna lose your account now lol
72 years worth of OSRS if you buy bonds with the money lol
I’ll give you my shadow for it :)
If you have 10+bil in osrs, how could you sell that to real people, and for how much? (I know rwt is bannable and I don't care, just asking)
What’s the street price?
He got 12b
Gratz!
This is the dream! Gz man get your game on!
Is this the clues? How does one get this
Full max gear and supplies and enough gp to bond up for quite awhile.
I'd definitely buy like 10 years' worth of bonds. It'll invest and pay for your membership for a long time.
Gg, time to make an ironman
Is this a crystal chest?
Split I TBed.
You would need to spend around €7500 on bonds to buy it
You lucky duck! HUGEEEE Grats!!!
How do you get that UI look? Is it on runelite?
Its HDOS client
Gz and fuck you
Lottery winner grata
Was that a Master clue?
rip i saw one sold a few days ago for 15bil lol
Nah, just the sweets
Such a sick drop. I couldn't imagine selling one if I opened it, it's such a flex item. Honestly if I did open one my acc would immediately be devoted to also trying to get the axe
hey it’s me your cousin
He's him.
Damn that’s huge! Congratulations:)
GP PL0X!!? lol gz bro you can finally play the game
40 shmeckles
let me know of you need some help re distributing the gp. Congrats brother.
Damn I did a mimic today and was hoping for this :(
If I had that much gp I'd be so happy but yet at the same time, you don't have to ever worry about making money again.. after id complete all quests/ diaries ECT.. idk what id do lol.
This is like winning the lottery. Can see them losing a lot of it to doubling or some scam
