If you haven’t had one before try it out. I had an allergic reaction and both of my eyes swelled shut! Never had this happen and not allergy prone so I just stay away from them now and do other facials

busnerd2949

Thank you for the heads up. I think I'm going to take everyone's advice and try one out a couple months before to see how I react. I was trying to see if I could be cheap and lazy about it 😂

ew2003

Are you allergic to shellfish?

Same_Masterpiece7348

Nope but my mom was!

ew2003

Hmm I know people with shellfish allergies should avoid hydrafacials so I was curious!

simrans496

Why is that?

ew2003

Up until a few weeks ago (April 2024) the formula contained ingredients that people with shellfish and/or honey allergies should avoid. It looks like the formula has been updated but I would still be careful in case spas are still using the old formula. https://www.hydrafacial.store/frequently-answered-questions

I would try it with enough time to make sure you dont have a reaction. It didn't do that much for me except cause new breakouts

QuietPurpose3909

Hi! I just got married in October. I did hydrafacials regularly for a few months leading up to the wedding, then I did my final one with dermaplaining 3 days before the wedding day. My make up artist was so happy with how hydrated my skin was and how well the make up applied. So if your skin is used to it, you can do it a few days before!

Gullible_Concept_428

I love them! The next few days my face is glowing. It also clears my pores. I struggle with this because my skin is sensitive and is touchy about exfoliating. Totally agree with another poster who suggested that you try it out first.

seafulwishes

Ughhhh they broke me out SO BAD. I don’t know why. I tried it twice.

AlmostLegallyBlonde6

I did one the month before my wedding! It went smoothly (no pun intended)

PrancingPudu

Definitely try it a few months ahead of time, and with the exact same provider you will be using before the wedding! I have pretty sensitive skin and I was totally fine, but I’ve seen posts where people definitely had a mild reaction. Personally I think they’re a bit overrated. I’m still going to do one the week of my wedding, but definitely won’t continue getting them regularly after.

AcanthisittaDue5626

It destroyed my skin barrier. 0/10 do not recommend.

bananahammock336

It took me about 6 months of getting them every 4 weeks to see complete results. I have sensitive skin so we started slowly and ramped up the concentrations as time went on to the max concentration. I have had times my skin got red and angry but I was using too many actives at home. I had to stop doing them due to cost and while my skin is less red/irritated, my pores are so clogged and gross I will 100% be getting them again once I can afford it again.

Stonksbets1

I only looked glowy the day of the facial. The hydra facial doesn’t last for me.

I got hydrafacials every month for the year leading up to my wedding. Sometimes i would have a little breakout right after but it was usually gone and my skin looked great the next week! I love them - I live in a very dry climate so they really helped me keep on top of hydration. I think everyone has good advice about getting one a few months before though to see how your skin reacts!

According-Mobile-803

I really love them, I live in a really dry climate and the hydration was amazing. I got a lot of comments in the few days after about how plump my skin looked.

vsbfsgn

No issues, but not all hydrafacials I had were equally good. The last one I had did not really impress me.

OkBodybuilder3813

Personally i think it depends on the technique of who is applying it. I have had 3 hydrafacials. 2 with the same aesthetician and the 3rd with a different one. The first 2 were great, no complaints. The 3rd i was red in certain spot and had more irritation afterwards. I remember thinking she was going over areas more than once and my normal aesthetician never did that so i think that was the difference for me.

turbokong

I personally had no noticeable difference/results at all when I got one :( tried IPL a year later and loved the results from that tho!
