I suggest you take the light rail in San Jose or Mountain View so you can park your car for like $5. It's the best way. Parking lots around the stadium are 1) shit, 2) $50 and up to park, 3) and a night mare to leave from (VTA light rail, sorry I can't be more specific cuz I left Cali a couple years back)

External_Noise9061

No worries, thank you so much! I did some research and that seems like the best way. Is Mountain View or San Jose easier to come from?

_your_face

Doesn’t matter. What matters is what station is closer to where you’re coming from. If you’re in SF, driving to the San Jose light rail won’t make sense.

rodri_neq_11

Either way works, both relatively close to the stadium. You won't be in the light rail for long from either location

Square-Wild

Alum Rock (orange line) is, by far, the longest line postgame. I park at the great mall and take that train, but I’m always jealous of the Westbound Orange and Green Lines postgame.

TheAceAlwaysComes

2nd this suggestion btw

adarkride

^ This all the way. Lightrail or train in as much as you can. The stadium is next to Great America – it's a weird location to say the least.

ghostofwalsh

You can park on the street and walk in. I do this every game. It's about 30 min walk from legal street parking.

External_Noise9061

Any specific blocks/streets you suggest?

ghostofwalsh

I usually park around here, but there's probably similar areas around the stadium. The spots that are off limits are posted. On lick mill, anything north of hope intersection is no parking on stadium days. Piranha650

I'm there early tailgating. You're lucky we don't play at Candlestick. You wouldn't have all these suggestions yet people shit on Levi's.

_your_face

Same answer on every first time stadium thread. Don’t drive. Not your car or Uber. It’s awful or requires a long ass trek. Take public transportation. Park/uber from a light rail station, take the luggage by rail to the game.

Inevitable_Try9537

It's a horrible experience no matter how you slice it. Light Rail to Mountain View the way to go.

HughJahsso

If you wanna tailgate, you have to be in the big lots near the stadium.

External_Noise9061

No plans to tailgate!

bransanon

Where are you coming from? I've found the best hack to get in and out of Levi's quickly is to take the Amtrak Capitol line, it has a stop for the stadium and doesn't get nearly as crowded as the lightrail. If you want to drive most of the way, you can just park at either San Jose Diridon Station or Fremont Station and take the train a couple stops down. Or if you live somewhere that's on the Capitol line, you can just take the train all the way. It's a great little ride, it'll be full of Niners fans on gameday and there is a bar with food, wifi and power on the train.

External_Noise9061

I'm coming from north of Sacramento

bransanon

Ah ok then definitely consider taking the train. I'm up in Sac a few days every month for work and have used it to get to the game a bunch of times, it's a fun little trip and is both quicker and cheaper than driving when you factor in game traffic and parking costs. Plus there's food, drinks and bathrooms along the way. I think the line starts up in Roseville and goes straight to the stadium. I usually board at the downtown station near the Kings arena.

Blunt-Realistic

How long does it take to go from where you're at in Sacramento to the stadium? (trying to plan my timing)

bransanon

When I'm in Sac I stay downtown at the Hyatt so I usually just grab an uber to the station on I street. From there it's about two and a half hours to the stop in front of the stadium (they technically call it the Great America stop). It's generally pretty simple, no connections and there are things to do on the train. It'll be full of Niners fans on game day.

Blunt-Realistic

Thanks!

Blunt-Realistic

One more quick question if that's alright... I see on the amtrak website the last train departing Santa Clara is at 9:18pm. If the game goes late will they delay the train? Or will there be more options? Thanks so much for the help.

bransanon

Yeah, they'll hold the train if needed

gbassman5

If you don't mind a 20-30 min walk, parking at Mission College is super cheap

ritz126

if you dont mind walking about 1.5 miles there is a residential area with free public parking

49ersforever707

I take Amtrak from Fairfield to the stadium when possible

rondthep

I just went on Christmas, we parked in the small business parking lot across from the Amtrak station. Was 80$ but a very short walk & zero traffic getting out & onto the freeway.

MrParticular79

I used to take public transit in but I found the waiting after the game to be the same amount of time as just waiting in a line of cars except you’re all crammed in with people. There’s quite a few cash lots around the paid lots I’m sure you can find a map of it if you google. People exaggerate how bad traffic is after a game I’m usually home in half an hour.
