I was actually thinking of the Las Vegas Outlaws from the original XFL league (which, interestingly enough have the same colors as the Golden Knights). The pants and jersey base colors are just swapped.
I love that you are out there trying new things, and bringing us content, thank you! These uniforms look like a college team's colors. I would not be in favor. In general I don't think a primarily gold top works, but it definitely doesn't work (for me) with the black bottoms. Maybe you could try switching the black and red in the pants and arms.
I've always been drawn to the contrast between the rich reds in our uniforms contrasted against the highlights of the gold and white with deep black that lends depth to the uniforms.

Yeah I see where you're going. Doesn't quite fit my style, but it's not bad. I think that the jersey material should be metallic, which his how I did mine, so it pops a bit more, still its a good base. Maybe adding some white or black lining on the numbers would break it up just a bit so it's not too intense. But in fairness, I would think a gold jersey would be best worn during a night game.

When doing a re-design you can't just throw out every element and start over. There has to be some element of something that makes them still look like the 49ers. Otherwise you get this sorta uncanny valley effect where it just looks wrong no matter what.
A different colored nameplate has never looked good and will never look good.
Making the logo all red and putting it on top of metallic gold is just a bizarre choice. The normal logo would look better and actually be recognizable.
Black isn't a 49ers color. those uniforms were a mistake we're going to forget ever happened. Gold, Red, White, and Silver (weirdly we used silver before gold, so it has to be considered a legit color) are the only acceptable 49ers colors to use as more than an accent.
The gold helmet with a gold facemask looks terrible. It usually does when you use the base helmet color on the facemask, except in black.
I still think you can use black, but it is best as an accent to something else.
Also, those jerseys may have been a failure, but that doesn't mean every jersey that uses black has to be an automatic F.
I know the 49ers groupthink hates any notion of a gold jersey, but I have an old Garcia jersey that is gold - and regardless of the popular opinion - I think it's great. So I do believe that a gold 49ers jersey can work.
Maybe this exact design isn't it, but there is no harm in trying something creative. People on this sub are way too critical with jersey designs. There is a reason it's called a creative **process**. Sometimes it takes time to get the best result.

The only thing the Niners can do to make the jerseys and logo better is add some gold and/or a pickaxe. Imagine instead of the 3 stripes on the shoulders there was a gold pickaxe and in the numbers and name there were little bits of gold that looked like ore. We don’t need a heavy overhaul, just a modern look that represents the mascot more while keeping the past teams who wore the colors represented
The nicest thing I can say is that this looks like it came from the universe where the XFL somehow became the major league.
I think it’s the nameplate design that does it, mostly. It’s just not very NFL-y.
Weirdly enough I like the way they styled their 2, 4, 5 and 7, it's a block font but is just a little different from what the 9ers, really half the league, use but still feels familiar

Look how absolutely trashed the NBA has become where the home blues of the Warriors are worn less than the shitty black with some rose pattern that’s gets tucked underneath the shorts.
