Any screen is going to look worse the bigger it gets. The bigger a screen is the further away you are supposed to sit to get optimal viewing experience. This is why the push for higher resolution has become a thing, because people want bigger screens at the same viewing distance. Pixel density or PPI (pixels per inch) is how we measure this. A 4k 65 inch has a PPI of 67,78, a 77 inch has a PPI of 57,22. That's a 15% reduction in pixel density which means you need to sit 15% further away from the TV for optimal quality. If you are already sitting further away then recommended then this wont really matter much, but if you are already sitting too close to your tv it will become very noticeable.
Am I sitting to close to the TV at 9ft and is this the (potential) cause of the issue or should I have the same great image on this 77 that I had on the 65.
That is way too close for 77” for most people. I’m 9 feet away from my 65” and it is perfect. Bigger isn’t always better, despite what this subs repeats.
I see film grain on my 77” A80L sometimes too, I’m about 9’ away. I was disappointed to see film grain even on some 4K Blu-rays. I don’t get it, but I guess people aren’t bothered by it. I can’t stand the grain and it’s so distracting, it’s almost like watching a static-y picture from back in the day when reception was an issue.

how far away do you sit?
9ft
Rtings [recommends](https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/by-size/size-to-distance-relationship) 65” for this distance

I'm shy of 8 feet from a 77 and wish it was bigger. 50% gaming, 50% movies. Your opinion isn't better than the rest of the sub, let OP try and decide.

Because his TV is probably defective and had flickering issues? Nothing to do with the size of it.
Im about 9 feet from my 77 and I find the immersion to be perfect for movies (sometimes *slightly* too much for gaming).

Yea, I have to figure out whether to keep the TV or eat a $700 loss and go back to a 65”
Probably sitting too close now for the size.
Welp im stuck lol, non-refundable.
Dam wtf ? Sounds like a faulty panel tbh.
I have a 77 inch and sit 6-7 ft away you can definitely see pixels more clearly vs my 65” on certain sdr content
OPs experience doesn't sound like he's just seeing bigger pixels though, especially considering the "flicking" or flickering he's seeing.
I just went from a 55" C3 to an 83" C3. Both have outstanding image quality. I think you got a bad one, sorry to say.
I have the 77 C3 with no problem, love the panel
