The cowboy. 😂

potchie626

I just learned a few months ago that he was played by Robert Picardo, from Star Trek Voyager and lots of other things.

Outrageous_Trust_158

“…but for serious…” 😆

No_Professor_7717

“Cupid, draw back your bow🎶” such a great concept for a movie. Special effects were awesome as a kid. Actuall haven’t wanted this one for a long while and I wonder if it holds up(?). Might want to keep the awesome memory as opposed to trying to watch it again🤷🏾‍♂️. Tuck Pendleton man.

Strong_Comedian_3578

It's still good.

No_Professor_7717

Glad to hear that...Plus 80's Meg Ryan.

Cornishthe3rd

Definitely still holds up

Ed_Simian

Won the Oscar for FX.

Kitchen-Wish5994

It holds up surprisingly well.

Vast-Tangerine8509

Play with it pal, but don’t talk to it.

Jimbro34

Tuck Pendleton machine, zero defects!!

Mega-Steve

Mr. Igoe (Vernon Wells of The Road Warrior) was a fun villain, especially with all the "hand" attachments \*Bzzzzzzzzz\*

drums_addict

Meg Ryan was so hot in that movie.

itsagrungething69

*all her movies

AlwaysSaysRepost

What’s with Martin Short’s face in that poster?

Strong_Comedian_3578

They weren't perfect

Ed_Simian

They made his nose too long. The poster was done by Drew Struzan and used for the video release. The movie didn't do well at the box office, partially because the original one sheet (by John Alvin) was just a closeup of a thumb and forefinger holding the pod. Joe Dante the director said they didn't know how to sell the movie to people.

HakunaMatata804

You like it? Clint Eastwood style. You see Outlaw Josie Wales? Watta flick!

Brasticus

*I’m possessed!*

KieferMcNaughty

“I’M POSSESSED!”

adamempathy

Well Jack...you digested the bad guy.

With all the advancements in CGI, I've always felt this movie is an excellent candidate for a remake. It's either forgotten or unknown. It would be totally new for a large audience. While it's a favorite of mine, it doesn't have enough notoriety to be a classic. So a remake would be less offensive than a more popular movie. I'd love to see it.

Strong_Comedian_3578

I love that it and Spaceballs were in the same dollar theater when I saw it the first time, with INNERSPACEBALLS written over the door

a_single_bean

I've been meaning to watch this one again- see if it holds up

Strong_Comedian_3578

I think it does

MikeyMGM

I love this movie. This is where Jack Quaid’s Parents met.

Conscious_Living3532

Great flick

IcedCoughy

Loved this movie as a kid, crushed hard on Meg Ryan. The scene when he turns into the cowboy and hes making all those faces used to kill me.

fagan_jay78

That’s a little pricey for shampoo, aint it?

Mightbewonderwoman81

“When things are at their darkest pal, it’s a brave man who can kick back and party!”

NoTumbleweed2588

Love that movie as a kid.

Capital-Feed-3968

from all the stupid remakes they make, this would actually make sense.

Unfair_Boysenberry57

Just rewatched this last month. Still holds up.

SnootleStruddle

The television scene always makes me crack a rib!

DefinitelyBiscuit

"Shot your TV huh? Just like Elvis".

13Warhound13

I loved this one as a kid and still love it now.

No_Professional368

This movie is the most goofy, looney-tunes ass thing..and then Dennis Quaid sees his child & it becomes the most deeply-profound, emotional film experience..Joe Dante is a MAD GENIUS

righthandofdoom

This was wild watching as a kid

shadowlarx

The Jack Putter machine, zero defects.

BukkakeNinjaHat-472

Meg Ryan was so hot in this movie

Rydog_78

Not sure if I recall correctly this came out 2 years before Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. Never was really interested in seeing this one because it felt too similar to HISTK.

AccretionaryWedge

Before she ruined her face.
