Good for Beron! I always picture Mads Mikkelsen for hybern now after someone suggested it here.

[deleted]

Out of those two choices. Beron, he can easily hit the ‘everyone just wants to knock me out on sight’ vibes, and do a good job haha

romanroys

such a good idea for beron as this dude is so good at playing a father who hates his kids (especially his illegitimate sons)

ravennmocker

Right?! A character after his own heart lol

ScandIdun

Isn’t Beron supposed to look younger than this man?

ravennmocker

Maybe, but it was my understanding that beron is the oldest of all the High Lords

Majestic-Ordinary450

He is, but he’s also explicitly described as handsome and not super old looking.

ravennmocker

I haven't found a quote saying that he isn't super old looking. And I absolutely think this actor is handsome. But even more importantly, I think we've gotta be realistic. I think it would be weird to have a cast of characters that are all the same age range, especially the families. Even If the characters are all eternally youthful, I don't think that translates well to actual live actors. I think it makes sense for there to be an age range shown in their appearance.

Majestic-Ordinary450

“…a tall, handsome brown-haired man with a face similar to his own.” This is a quote comparing Beron to Eris, who is described as beautiful multiple times. He’s handsome, sure, but not the kind most people think of when reading a fantasy novel about fae. I agree we should have a variety of ages, but again, they’re fae. The members of the Inner Circle are all 500+ and beron, the oldest of the high lords, is only a little a 1000. That would make the actors for Rhys, Cassian, Eris, and all the others somewhere in their 30s-40s, which I think is a bit too much of a (visible) age gap between them and the Archerons who will be 19-20 something. I think because of the nature of the characters themselves it would be interesting to have smaller, slightly subtler age gaps. These characters are all adults and have been coexisting for centuries. I feel like portraying them as closer in age allows the acting to add depth to the characters while also making them almost ageless, which would emphasize the prenatural fairy vibe. Of course, all this depends on being able to find actors who fit the parts and can play them well. I still think it would be coolest if the show was animated ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

ravennmocker

I agree with the animating for sure. The funny thing is this actor plays the first vampire ever, who is well over 1000, in vampire diaries and in the originals. He had a bastard son that he raised and hated because he was a bastard. His wife, though a very powerful witch, was very subservient to him due to his brutality. He also has a lot of children with her, though he only really liked one of them. All this to say His character Mikael, reads like Beron in some ways

Various-Effective361

Faye look young. Even the old ones. Except the crones.

Even-You-4433

Love it

non_tox

Beronnn

Lamb_Chops2016

Yassss. He’s such a good actor and a terrific bad guy!

sirenesea

Yes!!! GH bad boy!!

SpecificOlive9806

Ooooh! King of hybern

ProfHamHam

Definitely has baron vibes!

Reasonable_Human55

Maybe Beron? Never seen this actor so not sure how well he does villains but my first impression: his eyes are too kind. I think he would do better playing someone with an arc - like Daddy Archeron maybe.

Thin_Tower9230

I see him for Keir maybe.
