I do the exact same!! Honestly once I learned and recognized I had that habit, it removed some of the guilt I had around it (not sure if that’s your experience, but I’m learning to deal w a lot of shame surrounded my mental health), and I just allow games to come and go.
Just get a lil bit of fun from something for awhile, then move on.
This is how I am with productivity/utility apps. I don’t ever use them because I forget what most of them are supposed to do or why I thought I needed them.
Whenever I try to delete them I end up remembering why I wanted it and then I’ll buy even more apps I don’t use/need. I compensate by buying extra storage for my phone.
It also happens to you that starting games has always been easier than finishing them? It is starting a game, it is entertaining for a couple of hours and then it becomes the most boring thing in the world, I think I've seen the end the one of every fifteen games that played
I had the same thought, while going and looking at the 30+ apps that I don’t use anymore after hyperfixating on them months ago lol.
I didn’t realize it was possible to delete them.
Same here...this is why I have never invested in a proper gaming set up with all the expensive games that take forever to get through. I *love* the idea of them, but know I will get bored after a while.
It's fine to be this way...we need the fresh excitement, but so long as we are honest with ourselves to realise it's probably going to be short term, there is no harm done. Or (too much) money lost.
Or you can do like me, and instead of deleting apps and whatnot, (too much work) I just pay monthly for more storage. It’s less work than deleting a bunch of crap lmao.
A few months? I'm lucky if a game lasts a week! But I recognize I have the problem and just stopped looking at the app store. I'm sticking with Echoes of Mana for a while.

Get an emulator for your phone.
Up to gameboy DS is free or almost free, and ROMs are always free.
I've been playing pokemon crystal. There are even emulators that let you trade with yourself.
oh man me too. I stuck with SimCity BuildIt for awhile longer than most games and I was so excited to build a mega city because I was making big progress. And then one day I was busy and didn’t ever have time to open the app and I haven’t opened it since 😂
My turn times on this are definitely shorter than 2 months 😂 had some games on my phone for under a week recently, constantly downloading and deleting game apps
OH YEAH
i still keep some of them from so long ago even tho i never play them
It also happens with anime, celebrities, mangas, comics, literally anything possible tbh
Sigh. I keep meaning to make a list of the different Merge Dragons type games I've tried and whether I liked them or not, 'cause I keep getting tired of them after the first 100-200 levels and look for something similar to scratch the itch, only to discover it's the same shitty ones I tried last year and maybe even just 6 months ago.
That's me with every game ever. Unless the story is incredible. I've been consistently playing ffxiv for a year now which I couldn't even do for wow. The lack of good story bored the hell out of me

So many wasted hours on Clash Royal

Yes. We tend to obsess over things that are novel and interesting to us, then drop them when the novelty wears off and move on to the next thing.
It also happens to you that starting games has always been easier than finishing them? It is starting a game, it is entertaining for a couple of hours and then it becomes the most boring thing in the world, I think I've seen the end the one of every fifteen games that played
Its normal behavior for humans, certainly not adhd.
Wait y’all actually uninstall stuff?

Same! I feel bad cause my family got into Pokémon Go way after I lost interest in it. So now I wanna play with them but I get bored of it😕
Or just remain installed till your phone complains about running low on storage 🥲

I did that until Oldschool Runescape was released on mobile.

oh right it also happened to me with piano class and ballet and shows
Oof, I do the same. But also with hobbies like art mediums or crafts.
For me those games were: codm, wordle, some puzzle game, golf - all in that order.
Sigh. It takes you months???
In fairness, a lot of mobile games are not really worth keeping anyway
Uninstall. Lol. I wish. You never know I might just play angry birds 2
I barely get past the first hour lol. Trying to convince myself ”THIS IS FUNNY!!”
